Woops sorry, I assumed you had manual. Like Luke said swap to manual, cheaper than a built auto and more fun for a street car. Also manual is a plus if you decide to sell it in the future.

Thanks mate Have you planned your trip yet? PM if you have details.

Cool, Tokyo Sky Tree is definitely worth a visit (tallest tower - not building in the world) see below. Yeah I can relate, I can speak, read and write a fair bit but I still find the language a massive barrier when dealing with anything complicated. The bad thing about good employment is that you are expected to live your job. Yesterday I went to Tokyo tower. It costs 2000 Yen to go to the level at about 350m and you have to wait a really long time (I went during the day on a weekday so I can only imagine other times will have even longer waiting times). First you have to wait to get a ticket to wait in line at a given time bracket. So after I got that first ticket and had to wait for two hours for my time bracket I went for a walk through Oyokogawashinsui park. It has a building in the shape of a boat at one end of the park. The building has a long slide too which is fun. I saw this while walking: The sky wasn't very clear so most of my photos from Sky Tree aren't too good, this one is ok though. I am scared of anything that has the power to do great harm or kill me which includes heights so it was after several minutes of procrastination involving sweaty palms and legs of concrete that I shuffled my way of the glass floor to take some photos. I ate black sesame seed tantan men and gyoza at this shop in the Tokyo Sky Tree town. The gyoza was especially fantastic and the shop isn't much more expensive than others which is a nice surprise as it is in a tourist area. If the idea of hours of waiting/2000yen is a bit of a put off the Asahi beer companies building can be visited. Just take an elevator to the 22nd floor and go in the toilet. There is a window and you can see outside. As I was in the toilet I thought this photo was appropriate to post. There is also an old government office building in Tokyo that is open at night and has great views of Tokyo through big windows. It is free and wasn't too busy when I went, a few years ago now.

MX6 turbos are heaps of fun, reliable and reasonable on fuel. They have good off boost torque and are really comfy inside. They torque steer as you would expect being a FWD turbo though. Such a bargain for so much car. Wish I never sold mine as it was red, 2WS, manual, in really good condition and had a USC bodykit which make them look fantastic in my opinion. I had a 2.5" exhaust on it too which sounded great and was not boomy at all. If I had the garage space I would buy one now just coz I loved my one so much.
-
Welcome, If you are around Tokyo and want a hand getting a turbo on it let me know.
-
Welcome. Assuming you have R33 turbo boxes it seems strange you are blowing them chasing 'only' 330RWKW. I say 'only' as that is still a lot of power for a street car, just no where near the limit of those boxes.
-
Top left box is the owner's name and address (Nisshin city in Aichi prefecture - by coincidence a city I know very well). The bottom right box is something about the car complying with some regulation from 1978.

Japan misses you too Nath, it even through a tantrum last week. All tears and wails it was.

It didn't look special, just thinly cut slices (looks like the beef in gyudon from Yoshinoya etc). I don't know why, it was just fantastic. The shop was down some back alley with the owner or waiter out the front in the street beckoning people to come in like it was a red light district. The guy cooking the food was smoking a ciggy while cooking. The shop itself was in the style of the countless other international diner/cafe/restaurants in Japan. Just so happened that it served, possibly, the most delicious Japanese set meal I have had. Wasn't expensive either - about 800yen from memory.

Went to the Tokyo International Film Festival yesterday and also to this restaurant. I had a Japanese set meal with what was possibly the best pork I have ever tasted. The kimuchi was delicious too. Great shop that is walking distance from Roppongi Hills.

Help With I.d Of Build Plate And Sticker
*LOACH* replied to Strick.'s topic in General Automotive Discussion
The Japanese language on the plate isn't anything helpful- Nissan motor company etc. The 732 G is the colour trim. The sticker is for the aircon freon fill date. I can't see anything written in there but the format (if it has been written in but not visible in the photo) will be year/month/day. -
Welcome to SAU and the Utopian world of boost.

Hi, I am in Tokyo. I often get to hear, including today actually, about how great Okinawa is. Unfortunately I have not been off of Honshu though. Sad news about the RX7, would have made a great base for an LS1 swap though, still got the car? Are you in the Marines? Mind if I ask what sort of work you do?

Assorted Items - Cheap Or Free
*LOACH* replied to pureplaya's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
No worries mate. A small mistake in your ad is an insignificant negative when you are giving stuff away - thanks for doing it. By the way I PMd you in regards to the exhaust manifolds. -
Welcome to the site. Check the New South Wales events threads for cruises etc.

Assorted Items - Cheap Or Free
*LOACH* replied to pureplaya's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
What a nice fellow giving away free stuff. Heads up though - I don't think the alternator will be salvageable, it looks like when it blew up the pieces formed into something resembling a starter motor -
Welcome to the forum! You are going to Melbourne? Shouldn't you be getting a VL? I recommend a VL. That is all Good luck with it mate, I hope what ever you end up with makes you happy.

Is this post directed at me? If so you will note that in my post I said that "the Australian cent is almost equal to the yen now". Note Australian CENT not dollar. In addition I don't understand your supply and demand point. Do you mean Toyota as buyer, if it were to be the only manufacturer in Australia, would be able to dictate prices to parts manufacturers? Or do you mean Toyota as seller, if it were to be the only manufacturer in Australia, would be able to price cars however they wanted? I don't think either of these points are valid.

For Sale Or Swap 1996 R33 Gtst
*LOACH* replied to paulr331386's topic in General Automotive Discussion
A handful of belly button lint, a photocopied picture of a woman in a swimsuit and 3 pounds, 8 shillings in old money? -
Welcome and congratulations on the manual conversion.

Welcome and like Luke said you are much better off posting in the relevant thread. Many people will only follow threads that they are interested in and the Newbie Intro thread doesn't have too many people posting responses. In addition if you post in the relevant thread it makes it easier for people searching for the answers to the same question.

Welcome, Car looks gorgeous, I can certainly see why you would want her back. Congratulations.

Welcome Peter, I hope you are enjoying Sydney.

I am happy to do small bits and pieces here and there for people but 3 pages of what will probably be highly technical language? With the possibility of getting the blame if the engine blows up when being tuned? For no renumeration at all? And you didn't even provide good scans in the post? No offence meant but it is a bit too much of an ask.
