u after surf for surfing, or just what the water conditions are generally like around port norlunga? im not sure so i will give a quick answer for both lol
surfing wise, you want get a decent wave there unless its 40 knot onshore. so go 2 minutes either way, one side has christies which has some great heavy beach breaks, gets real packed tho. other side has southport, another beack break and if you keep wandering down the cost you will get about 15 other reef breaks, generally always smallish, but on stormies gets prob the best wave on the coast down at seaford.
boat wise, this time of year ur lucky if its not several meters out there. always bumpy and cold. port norlunga has a massive reef running in line with the beach about 400 meters out. water depth is a sheer drop off after that, plenty of seals, sharks and the like.
