those first 10 laps where i dare say the best racing ive seen FULLSTOP in many years! that was amazing, they where pushing each other to the extreme, even going off track through the corkscrew to gain places. rossi is a master, so calm and collected he was there to win from the start. great race, cant wait for this 3 week break to be over! any word on the severety of lorenzo's injury? that looked like another break to me

well i just slapped a full tank in to test this theory and its gotta be the pump pick up, dosent do it at all now, so i'll run this fuel down then crawl under the car see how we go thanks for all the advice

smh, this backfire issue just got more wierd, but atleast i think ive narrowed it down to a fuel pump/tank issue!lol

ok so im just in from the shed and i have done the following: 1) took out and taped up every coil to cover any possible "cracks" 2) undid battery, let it sit for a bit while hitting the brake pedal and playing with the light switches (whats that ment to do if there is no power?) then reconected it all up again now for the test run, i did about 20 standing starts, pushing hard through first gear all the way up untill hard in 4th.....and it was perfect, not one backfire, there was a small hessitant bit in one of the launches though.... but then as i went to take a corner hard in first gear over 4000rpm is backfired and coughed like crazy, this would suggest a problem either in the fuel tank pump or with the new fuel pump the previous owner put in????? only did it in corners under hard excelaration, like as if the force of the car was moving a pump and not picking up correctly??? cheers rhys

i think you may be right, i just taped up every coil to try that method, it has worked somewhat but now i am only getting it in 1st gear after 4000rpm when i seem to be turning??? it barely does it when going in a straight line in first.... so im leaning more towards a pump loose in the tank?? sound about right? whats my next step from here then? cheers rhys

ok so just taped every coil, the problem is a shit load less prevelant, but it is only backfiring in 1st gear when i turn right, this is the only time it has done it and only gear, i just spent the last 2 hours out there testing and fiddling!??? wat the heck does this mean?lol
