  1. Yeah, I also changed oil before and after hitting track as it see's some pretty high temps that you will not see driven daily. After all if Nissan use a 7.5w-30 semi synthetic oil it cant be all that bad as Im sure the Nissan engineers know a bit more than us! I find a 10w-40 is good for the hotter summers we have here and our winters arent as cold either.
  2. IMO any semi or fully synthetic oil of either a 5w-30 or 10w-40 or there abouts, will be more than up to the job for our cars driven daily when being oil changed every 5000kms. Im going to run a 10w-40 in mine as I dont see the point of over thinking the oil for a daily driven car with stock or mildly modified engines. In my 180sx I run oil at no more than $50 a bottle, I always buy a few bottles when its on special so probably getting a $60-70 bottle for that price. The engine is fine even after a few drift track days and its making 270rwkw and revs to 7700rpm. Ive tried Castrol Edge, Motul turbo light, Shell Helix and Nulon. The Nulon I wouldnt run again as the engine did sound a little louder in the top end. Just change it every 5000kms as you should in turbo cars. Oh, and dont forget changing the filter at the same time!
  3. Hey guys Im currently having my dump pipe made for my nm35 Stagea by a "Kelway Engineering". He makes custom steampipe turbo manifolds (including the the one on my 180SX SR) roll cages, suspension components and more. As i arrived today he just finished a penny farthing bike that I just took for a ride. Funny piece of gear. He is making the dump pipe in the bell mouth style out of stainless steel. These are direct factory fit bolt on jobbies. He will also have some for sale in the next week or two for only $350 each. As soon as I get my dump next week Ill post some pics for those interested. He is based in Adelaide for local pick up or will post interstate. He is also making me up a front pipe so they will also be for sale soon but I have no price on these yet. If your interested just let me know and Ill forward his details. Cheers
  4. I used castrol 5-30 in my SR when it was running E85 making 275rwkw on 17psi and found it fine on the track. Only ever ran it during winter with a nsimo thermostat keeping the engine on a max of 72deg. Currently only use Shell helix 10w-40 semi syn in it with no dramas at all. Not sure how it would go during summer running at normal temps, it's also near on the factory grade too. The CTS drift 180sx running over 350rwkw was running castrol 10w-60 so it can't be all bad. My m35 will be delivered to my mates compliance shop tomorrow (earlier than I expected) for compliance so will go shopping this weekend for parts to do a service.
  5. What's the part number for a greddy oil filter for an nm35? Have any of you guys used castrol edge 5w-30 or 0w-40 full synthetic?
  6. 12mm is the size on the rear of s13 an r33/32 so JIS would have them.
  7. Only can find 14mm nut. Not sure how many they have. If it has 3 and your missing one it will be fine but if it only has 2 and missing one I would carefully head straight to Japanese import spares and grab the correct 12mm nut from a skyline.
  8. I might have one that will fit. I'll check tomorrow morning and let you know.
  9. If your going to sell it due to those dents Id buy it.
  10. My Powerduct arrived today. Ended up finding one s/hand in Melbourne for $78 delivered. Very happy. Also my 3" flex joint and 200cpsi cat arrived, now I can drop it off to get the dump and front pipes made.
  11. Thats not engine torque its tractive effort. But it would still have a heap of torque.
  12. I would have thought they would have been BB core. Now I understand. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Im learning more about the M35 everyday Cheers
  13. Ah ok. I always change my oil on turbo cars at 5000km no more. So hopefully all will be good. Wouldn't there be a restrictor in the turbo oil feed anyway, as all BB cores have. So opening up the banjo bolt shouldn't make any difference to get more flow/feed.
  14. Does this need to be done to the standard turbo? Will it help it live longer?
  15. 9.5 +45 wont fit on the front. I fitted a 9.5 +38 and had about 3mm clearance from rim to upper suspension link.
  16. VERY hard to keep clean. My mate also had some trouble getting the paint on due to the zuralic pearl. Depending on the brand of paint they use a normal pearl to make it easier but it doesnt look as good.
  17. Yep it's from Volkswagen/Audi. This factory colour isn't cheap as it uses Zuralic pearl in it.
  18. Thanks for that. My mate painted it over Xmas. Cost me $1000 for materials plus 3 days of my labour to which I made and installed (he paid for materials) and new kitchen and vanity for him. Nice trade off for both of us. Just need to repaint the wheels in matt black as Im not happy with the satin black we painted them in.
  19. Well the M35 Stagea is still on the boat so I cant post a pic of it yet, I thought I would post one of my 180SX instead until it gets here. Hope thats OK to do.
  20. I would guess at an exhaust restriction, maybe drop the cat and see what difference it makes.
  21. Spot a black C34 s2 Stagea every morning around 7am driving on bridge road. Always has his yellow fog lights on even though there is NEVER any fog nor is it legal to do so. Otherwise nice clean looking wagon.
  22. 296 = R33 GTST and R32 gtr except 2mm thicker. 310 = R34 GTT 324? = R33/34 GTR
  23. I did deal with them on a business level for a couple years and they were always good to deal with.
