putting a cop on the spot would have him on the defence, if there is nothing wrong with your car you have nothing to worry about, if you have something thats a defectable item you are much better off not stating legislation, making a point about recording his identity, asking about why you were pulled over, only do this after it looks like you can't get out of a fine. Basically if you act like a smart ass (what he thinks is a smart ass) he will try harder to give you a fine. Questions should be left till a point where he is already about to give you the fine, only then you have nothing to loose and you can try and catch a weakness that wont holdup in court. And hopefully he will reconsider the fine if he thinks its a waste of time, on the other hand he doesn't loose anything by going to court, it all happens in his work time. If your a big "know it all" and i was a cop, i'd waste your time by making you go to court purely for the satisfaction that another kid giving me lip was having to waste his time instead of going to the beach or earning money at work... In the end just be polite and reasonable and keep your cool because if you rub a cop the wrong way, he can waste your time and cost you money even if it doesnt stand up in court...

i'd defect anyone rolling around on chromed 20's if i was a highway patrol just so people take those ugly useless things off and make the world a pretty place. Also being up on the coast the coppers probably know your cars pretty well, maybe someone has given a bit of lip or they've had complaints and they pick on you now, who knows? If it wasn't for the wheels you probably wouldn't have been red stickered and speeding with bald tyres???? seriously its not like you were asking for police attention or anything end of the day Cops are always right unless a Judge says otherwise

late reply, saw an R33 broken down on side of the road just near the international airport terminal on sunday

It hasn't beeen taken over by CIC, AON was always underwritten by CIC. AON was still cheaper for me by $5 or so, but they don't accept paypal, credit card ect.... so i went with gio @ $668 because they accepted credit cards online... Still last years AON price was nearly exactly half of this years price, it was $336 last year

thats what they are meant to do anyway.... and those pricks that hog the overtaking lanes

Sorry to Hijack the thread but the evidence sugests that raising the alcohol age limmit and reducing trade times to pubs and clubs really doesn't make a difference. Australia is already one of the most strict countries when it comes to alcohol and we have one of the biggest drinking problems, look at america and their 21 year old age limmit, if anything it becomes a "cool thing" to do when your drinking illegally in large groups infront of your peers. Think of Germany, Austria, Belgium ect... you can legally drink by yourself at the age of 13 in some areas and they don't have anywhere near as bad a drinking problem as we do. It is more a mentality thing, they drink because it is socially acceptable to have a beer or 2 with food and even buying Hiniken from Mc Donalds as part of a value meal deal, sure they get drunk at parties and football maches, where as we drink over here to primarily get drunk without considering having it with food and water and with the aim of getting drunk for the sake of it. Both the Euro areas mentioned above and Australia drink similar amounts of alcohol per person per year, the difference is they spread their drinks out throughout the whole year and during the whole week and throughout the day, it isn't confinned to getting absolutely hammered on the weekends trying to binge drink to catchup for the drinks they missed out of during the week. The problem is a mentality problem and putting harsher restrictions on alcohol and clubs ect... do not have any positive effect, Smirnoff premixes are still the most popular alco drinks around today even though they are way overpriced with heavier taxes, when it comes to alcohol in Australia it really defies the laws of economics, increasing the price and reducing the avenues of buying alcohol does NOT reduce the consumption of the product. anyway my 2cents from seeing the world and having an open mind

got a very hot soldering iron or a small butane flame pen???? I used to repair the plastics on my old dirt bikes like that, also used to repair me and my mates fuel tanks if they ever cracked the same way. If you can't find anyone to do it just find yourself a auto painter, weld it as best you can, sand it flat then get it painted (paint hides all)

just make sure you ask your insurance first to see if the installer has to fill in a certificate of installation first with a valid installelers number. I paid big money for mine and the ass that installed it won't sign anything incase the car gets stollen and they bypass the alarm and he is held liable.... just do your research first

How Do You Tell If The Car Has Done Big Kms?
Kujotk replied to GTR-N1's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Thats why I always suspected my car had done allot more km's than it says, but other than the front bar that i still havent repainted, the car looks and feels like new and has the exact right power as a freshly produced engine should have. the gear knob and accelerator peddal have been changed to a burnout metal peddal and a nizmo gear knob, steering wheel looks too new, seats were in great condition (passenger was never used) but in spite of these things being all "fresh" my speedo didnt line up properly. I always thought these were sus but after 2 and a half years of using it as a daily driver I still havent had a problem other than a clutch and new coil pack, i just changed the timingbelt early incase, but as far as the car feels and drives like, maybe it was the original kms? Pod, turbo back exhaust (de-cat), 9psi boost and spikes to 10 on an original 14 year old factory turbo and a front mount and i got 195.5rwk (all of which are untunned) Without the decat it got 192.5rwkw about a year earlier. When i first got the car it only had a cat-back system with compliance cat and a pod and it still got 160rwkw where as other r33's with the same setup as me on the day were only getting 125-145rwkw. one gtt got 145rwkw for a complete dead stock car, the only other car to get a decent power run out of the little or no modded cars (which is right on target for gtt power when it first came out of the factory stock. So for me atleast it looks like the km's dont line up but either it has been knocked somehow internally or played around with or it is just alittle fault from nissan. Either way km's arn't the only way to decide on a car, i could nearly destroy an engine in 5000km if i wanted to, and all it would show is 5000km on the odometer, where as a 60 000km car could have been looked after from the beginning, had its oils done every 5000km, never seen a track ect.... if you have driven enough cars around in your life you should be able to pick the ones that are good or bad mechanically without even having to refer to the log books and the odometer ect.... your gut instinct is usually your best tool when it comes to used cars. Km's are only an indicator of a cars condition, how the car drives is much much more important than numbers, however if you have evidence the odometer has been tampered with, then bargain harder for it if the car drives well, you might aswell get the cheapest price you can anyway -
yeah that was my first impression, looks like a 4 door na front bar atleast

what a knob

its not called a skyline simply because nissan purposely left it out to try and spice things up by trying to justify charging more than the other GTR models before it, think of it if it was called a skyline gtr it makes it sound alittle cheaper than the plain Nissan GTR, however they did leave the electric stove rear lights, the GTR name that is associated with the earlier skylines and its turbo'd small engine producing astronomical power, not to mention on the discovery channel documentory on the R35 gtr the boss of renalt/nissan says he wants to bring back the 2nd chapter of the Nissan Skyline GTR series after its break since the BCNR34 finished, and he also said " it has to have the iconic round tail lights like the old ones" refering to the previous models of skylines..... Stageas are basically skyline wagons FYI, nearly all the same parts fit from engine, drive train, electricals, chassis with mino diffs

lol well i seemed to miss the whole "2wd: line" somehow????? I'm going to bed, my brains not functioning
-
I was at Unigroup recently and they only have a 2wd dyno, so any AWD cars should either pull the fuse (i think thats only applicable for R32 GTR's) and the rest will have to have the front drive shafts taken off or disabled somehow? I'll confirm if this is right and also try and find any helpful info on how to make AWD into RWD.

looks as though i'll run into your drunk ass again @ GV, hope it pours again, nothing wrong with alittle bit of wetness? Wonder if the rain will stuff up the electricals again like lastyear...

JJR Coil Packs Vs Oem Vs Splitfire Vs Other
Kujotk replied to 4drftn's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
the JJR ones for series 2 R33's (i think they fit gtr's aswell) were a shocking unit, when i was looking for coils last month i called around and the importers of the JJR's said they were discontinued from sale and they recommended Splitfires, they said some of the JJR ones would last a year, some would last 20 minutes, as far as they told me there weren't any probs with the series 1 r33 style or the r32 jjr coils. But as for series 2 or equavalent even they said not to bother with their own product, atleast they were honest about it to me. In the end I got splitfires, massive amont of difference from a car who couldnt rev abouve 5000rpm just before i changed the coils... now its like driving a new car -
LOL what are you smoking my soviet friend???? GTR has always been manual untill now in which case its still a manual with auto twin clutch..... An AMG is completely different, and which AMG, none of them compare to a gtr in any comparison no matter how you look at it?????

Keep An Eye Out Before You Try And Race This One-
Kujotk replied to Yeedogga's topic in New South Wales
If you guys don't like to be reminded with a couple of lines reminding us not to street race or do anything stupid on public roads, then its your choice to accept it or not, just like its your choice to come onto a club forum that cannot stress enough about how stupid it is to street race. Every couple of months someone talks about doing something stupid on the roads, usually somone in the club (sometimes outsiders aswell) remind them that we do not condone that behaviour and we must make our position known on the subject everytime it is mentioned, because the one time we let it slide, chances are thats the time the worst may happen. Chillax everyone, and street racing and getting defected are not comparable things, nor should you street race to get back at the cops for defecting you because at the end of the day the boys in blue ALWAYS win
