    Melbourne Meet?

Ahh fair enough. I can swear on a left one that I've seen a 33gtr driving past me when I left work once. I couldn't tell if it was black or MP cos it was getting dark when I clocked off. But yeah, I'm sure you've seen that grey evo 8mr around too. Looks gorgeous but still a cheater's car Funny you say you see many skylines roaming around that area; I must be coming out at the wrong times!

    Melbourne Meet?

Hey Ric, I see a few 33 gts-t's around mill park, a silver one which I always see driving past when I'm having a smoke out the front. Keep thinking it's my friend cos he has a silver s2 as well. I also see this clean white one in bundoora too. What suburb do you live in? Since there's a few people who are aware of this thread, I might take this opportunity to ask whether people are comfortable with having a small tea party(coffee somewhere) on week nights. I find week nights to be better for less police attention, not that we should be doing anything that attracts it anyway, but in reality, skylines (once again, not ruling out the other cars ) can be more of a common target for cops regardless. Preferably small numbers so it doesn't get to the point where everybody is just talking to their own mates. 10 people give or take work well. I have a few places in mind and am open to suggestions 1) Garage cafe - closes early though 2) Doncaster pancake parlor 3) Brunetti's lygon st. 4) stuzzi's in northcote. My suggestions are based on parking being within close proximity so everyone can have a peace of mind. Cheers Michael

R31Nismoid, Btw you don't live near smith st do you? I think I've seen an R33 GTR there once or twice over the course of 4 years.

    Melbourne Meet?

haha, he had an afro, don't know if that is any indication of which way he swings. i'll try and keep an eye out for one of these car wash meets. i'll agree with what you said regarding the events section; it's borderline ghost town! track days would be great, but it means i'd have to get days off work which can be a bit of a PITA (work requires me to apply one month in advance for annual leave...) SAUNATS does look really tempting though. I've been to one winton track day back when my civic was almost stock bar the engine swap, a straight pipe and coilovers. Did a 1:49 on the full layout. Have been itching to go back and recently missed one, because I've been saving religiously for the GTR. I'm intending to attend wayyy more track days with the R. Reckon it's an easy task for a stock R to pull a low 1:4x at winton on street tyres for someone who's going out for their second time? I'd like to believe that I can still remember the track ^_^

    Melbourne Meet?

Well, I see you're in SE suburbs. I'm in Northern suburbs and I'm sure there's a mix of other suburbs where people are from. I'll gladly organise a coffee night or car wash night for those who are keen, perhaps somewhere like apple peel car wash or doncaster PP or garage cafe etc. And plus side is, you guys can check out my grocery getter too? I'm assuming you guys don't see too many civic's around at nissan meets

    Melbourne Meet?

no no no ~ let me rephrase I'm keen to meet all other nissans and their owners
  14. Hi guys, I've been meaning to ask whether some of you Melbourne guys get together every now and then to have a coffee, grab a bite, wash your cars, hold hands and what not. Reason I ask is because I'm in the market for an R32 GTR and would just really like to see more examples and learn more about this particular car, learn more about it before I lay down some hard earned cash and of course I'm keen to meet all other skylines and their owners. I've sat passenger seat in a couple of R33 GTS-T's, an R34 GT-T and drove a 96 Type X. It's safe to say that I have officially caught the Nissan bug. However, I am yet to experience what a GTR feels like. Hopefully this will allow me to know more of you guys in the skyline community and soon be part of it. Kindest regards Michael
  15. Based on these figures, would you find it unrealistic to import a decent R32 GTR for the $13k-$14k mark? I've seen a few R32 GTRs on yahoo auctions and j-spec going for around 400,000yen to 700,000yen (are these the complete nuggets?)
  16. haha thanks mate still working my way around this forum, it's pretty different to the ozhonda that i'm used to.
  17. Hi guys, Been a Honda guy for around 4 years now. I own a 92 Honda EG civic hatch with a JDM B18C conversion and have thrown most of what I earn at it. It's a fun little car pushing 116kw at the front wheels @ approx 930kg stripped out. Have raced it at Winton once and lapped at 1:49 when everything was still relatively stock. Although I never thought this day would come, I think I'm beginning to really like the Nissans and in particular, the skylines. After riding with an R34 GTT and an R33 GTS-T, it's safe to say that I'm more than impressed. I really like the fact that these cars are so smooth to drive, the chassis (although heavy) is very sturdy, power even when relatively stock is adequate for a bit of fun. These days they're not overly expensive either. It is in my best interest to import an R32 GTR from Japan or even to buy one locally. I would love to learn more about this community. Cheers Michael
