  2. ok, got the car sorted (props to motsons in brissy) somehow the first mob i went to, missed that the timing was way, way out (33 advance) that the tps hadnt been reset/calibrated correctly and that the throttle cable was sticking car back in tip top shape and awaiting engine managemnt ill post some pix of the custom work as soon as i get the pix online for those that were interested
  3. would love to check out your new car, but mines still having a few issues from the last lot of mods once i get them sorted, i reckon its on eh?

  7. im pretty sure with skylines, its the other way most standard ecus run too rich so getting after market tuning makes them more fuel efficient . .. . .
  8. ok, thats a lot of info break it down for me how will it affect me just driving around? and i guess the wrx link plugin is similar to the gtslink?
  9. yes, im more interested in fact as well the more i look into them, the better they sound, im just wondering why more people arent using them
  10. nah, more info about the link tell me everything you can about it? (is it just a gtstlink?) a serial number? i have to convince wifey to let me spend 700 bux on it
  11. dave, im interested what model is it?
  12. Ive searched and found bugger all threads on link engine management hadnt heard of them before today, but have been told they are the shiznit (no afm needed) bit more expensive than powerfc, is it worth it?
  13. where are you? motsons in brisso love link systems thats where i was today they dont like powerfc and reckon its harder to get a good tune with them the links!
  14. i think its a ford throttle body mob called prosport did it still has factory sensors everywhere (well, it should anyway)

  16. sounds to me like we are in a similar boat! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=66093 although i still have the factory tps would love to hear how you go with the powerfc if u get some answers ill do like wise if you like im off seeing a few work shops around brissy currenlty to see if i can get my situation sorted;
  17. its still the stock turbo havent got any pix yet, but ill get around to it;
  18. mmm, ok; let me rephrase my question will a powerfc work on a custom plenum/throttle body setup?
  19. Finally got around to getting my fmic installed (gtr r32 cooler on r33 sedan with usual mods, pod, exhaust, dump pipe) Decided to go with a mob that did a custom plenum and throttle body with the fmic install (got a good price as i did some pc work for them) and liked teh sound of clearing some space above teh engine got the car back and its running terribly (felt like a misfire bigtime hitting boost) got it dynoed today and the tuner told me that basically the standard computer is having kittens all over the shop (injectors are maxing out, computer is throwing up fuel cut and going into limp mode when booting it in 3rd and 4th gear, sometimes second) i was originally planning on going a power fc relatively soon after the install, but the tuner told me that it wont do teh job because of the mods to the plenum and throttle body and the associated sensors, is this the case? hes told me i need to go a motec M400 (like 4grand worth) do i have other options? ive turned the boost right down and am basically just going to put around to not risk blowing up the engine;
  20. mmm, i get a vibration rubbing noise with my clutch only ever first thing in the morning (and then its not everyday, jsut some days) but its when its fully depressed (totally disengaged) after driving for a couple of gear changes, it goes away and i dont hear it again until next time first thing in the morning; i find turning up the tunes so i cant hear it helps
  21. the skyline is our only car, so we rack up a few kays in it; got it 67k, up to 105 now and ive had it for just two years saddens me to see so many ks going on, but on the flip side, i get to drive it heaps, so im happy as well
  22. full comp fo shizzle 1000 bux a year with suncorp, im 32, wifey is 27 as someone else said, done even notice insurance payments with monthly deductions
  23. ill say rb25det should have been coz i dont know any better it sure would be hard to love an engine more than i love mine
