  1. Is the uni joint swaged in, i know the rear is in my r32, didnt check the front. I think i have one at work that was cut off and supplied with a gearbox i bought. I'll have a look tomorrow, if you dont get one you can have it for the price of postage.
  2. +1. I just bought the tech edge 2J1 http://wbo2.com/2j/default.htm with the 52 mm round gauge, love it
  3. great choice. Since i got mine ive installed a Z32 AFM and GTR injecters.
  4. Mate, i have a series one ECU here, where are you? $50 and its yours.
  5. No, i mean the oxygen sensor it self. Shortens their life by having them in the exhaust with the heater not connected. The substrate gets coated and they no longer work. When an oxygen sensor is on its way out, they slow down. They are supposed to reach a set amount of oscillations in a set time frame. If they take longer to react then the ecu sees that as not delivering enough fuel and will keep adding more until the voltage swings. They also eventually decrease the voltage output, ecu sees low voltage, takes that as a lean mixture and will keep dumping fuel in. Explained better?
  6. Might need replacing, they dont like being in the exhaust stream without the heater working, tends to clog them up.
  7. I have had experience with a motec M48, on my previous r33. Obviously with the Nistune system there is no setting up, i think its a breeze to use, and also great value for money. I already had the eprom socket in my ECU so i only had to solder 4 wires to the board, plug the daughter board into the socket and away it goes. I sent matt the bin file from my ECU, he installed it onto the board before sending it to me and car started straight up with same settings it has had since i bought the chip off Ceffie. I just installed a z32, took 2 mins to reprogram for the bigger AFM, also have a set of GTR injecters coming and they are just as easy. Download the user manual from his site, pretty well explains the uses of it. Ken
  8. This is a dwell table from my wifes 93 z32, vg30dett.
  9. http://home.aanet.com.au/nistune/ Just got one myself, for my 32
  10. Something that hasnt been mentioned and is worth a look is to make sure your clutch pedal box isnt cracked. Heavier pressure plate and the crack tends to open up instead of transfering movement to the clutch fork.
  11. Adjusting cam gears 7 degrees is actually moving the cam 14 degrees (2:1 ratio between cam and crank) . When specs are given for valve openings , closing and duration its always crankshaft degrees, not camshaft degrees. Id be very wary as the inlet valves would be opening 34 degrees BTDC.
  12. Example, i think it was sydney kid who said that an RB25 turbo at 5lb will flow the same amount as an rb20 turbo at 10lb
  13. Oil pressure Sender units are notorious for giving up the ghost, have someone check your oil pressure with a mechanical gauge. Flat spots are generally caused by a lean mixture, you may have an air leak into the inlet manifold.
  14. That my friend, is a GREAT analogy. very good
  15. Yeah, i contacted him last week, got my board on Wednesday this week, installed it yesterday. Thing looks great.
  16. should be more than a tad of spark. Your lucky it didnt blow up in your face, if your spraying the injectors externally you really should disable ignition system. Atomised fuel is very explosive.
  17. Take off an injector lead, turn ignition on, use aa test light to see if you have power to one of the wires in the injector plug. Injectors have direct battery power via a relay when ignition is turned on. The ECU grounds the injectors to switch them on so there will be power to all injectors with key on
  18. Peter. Havent been paying close attention, but have you fixed the injection % yet, and if so can i see you about getting the updated chip?
  19. Yep, but you also need to make sure you havent fitted a spacer or washer in the wrong spot. In the relaxed position the seal needs to be slightly back from the compensating port.
  20. If your looking into the master cylinder, it the small hole closest to the main bore opening. If its out of adjustment the seal will cover the port, stopping the warming fluid from re-entering the reservoir.
  21. Compensating port is blocked, fluid heats up and cant return to reservior, therefore it expands and disengages clutch. If you have freeplay at adjustable rod you need to make sure the port isnt blocked.
  22. Great, thanks webber. Knew it wouldnt miss a beat, great car.
  23. Pollution equipment, stores fuel vapours from the fuel tank until the conditions are right then sucks them into the inlet manifold. Dont know why its not hooked up.
