  1. Blocking off the hose to the solenoid will just give you no boost increase as it stops the bleed off of pressure. Bypassing the solenoid is asking for problems as the solenoid itself is also a restricter, bypassing it will just allow uncontrolable boost. The is no feedback from the solenoid to the ECU as it is an ECU output, simply switched to ground by the ECU to turn the solenoid on, thereby letting the bleedoff occur. The only reason fuel consumption would increase by turning the solenoid on all the time, or sooner, is because boost is increasing earlier, therefore more fuel is needed.
  2. ever seen the earth wire for the oxygen sensor on a EB to EF falcon.... WHITE. Only mention this cause the same oxygen sensor fits the skylines.
  3. Passenger side on the exhaust, just below where your turbo is
  4. thanks. prefer sydney but ill keep it in mind
  5. Anyone know where i can get the above mentioned item, seems my top tank has split....
  6. Where are you, i can get hold of a carmen scan tool, does all imports to current models and also displays active data.
  7. Appeal was upheld, fine reduced to $5000 and all 192 points reinstated http://www.cams.com.au/content.asp?PageID=...le&ObjectID=408
  8. i have a motec on my r33, had it on the dyno the other day and you would not beleive how badly it ran at 10.8:1. Leaned it out and got most power at around 12.8:1 @ 10lb boost. The difference was staggering, seemed to be drowning it. Fuel economy at that A/F ratio was around 30l per 100 km hahaha.
  9. there is one small problem with this... If the ECU happens to go into limp mode, because something is wrong with the engine or sensors, then boost will be limited to 5psi as the ecu wont switch the solenoid on. As its been bypassed, the engine will hit full boost regardless of faults. In limp mode your injector pulse width me be set, meaning that in limp mode, under full boost, you COULD run lean. Just something to think about.
  10. tonygtst is right, they are only a microphone that generate a electrical pulse under vibration. The OEM ecu's use filters to filter out noise that will be picked up by knock sensors. Knock sensors will pick up noise and generate voltages from shockwaves that come from anywhere in the engine, vlave train, piston slap, road noise and so on. The filter in the OEM ecu's filter out the noise, and only react to the frequency that would be generated by the particular engine with detonation. It mostly comes down to bore diameter, but it is a wide frequency range. The problem with after market ECU's is that they do not descriminate, the noise from the valve ttrain may be enough to retard timing.
  11. thanks guys, appreciate it.
  12. yep. i have a series 1, works great.........
  13. ef falcon ones work, great....... just have to change the plug over
  14. C'mon guys, surely someone knows the stock cam specs.
  15. i didnt get around to it today, but the easiest way to do it, the way i did, is the check pins 14 and 5 with the nissan ecu connected, see what voltages they have coming out (use a digital multimeter, NOT analogue). one should have a voltage that increases from around 0 volts closed throttle to around 5 volts WOT. This pin is the sensor signal OUT to the PCM. Once you have found it, and you have your new computer ready to plug in, simply run a bridging wire from pin 38 to the one that showed the variable voltage. Without this feed from the TPS, the PCM has no idea of throttle position, so upchanges and down changes will be erratic, AND, line pressure could also be low, which could cause slippage in the clucth packs and bands. I think from memory that the 3/4 postion throttle switch also goes out to the PCM, for kickdown, but i'll have to check mine to be sure. I'm not running the wolf, im running a motec m48, but obviously the principal is the same. Hope this helps. This wiring diagram is one of the best i could find, its large, (1.2 mb jpg) but very clear. If you can, print it out on A3,. http://members.iinet.net.au/~kbam/rb25diagram.jpg
  16. its the plug at the ecu, you just have to bridge some pins at the plug. I have all the diagrams somewhere, ill have a look tomorrow and let you know, what i have here is the signals go from pins 38 and 57, i think they go to pins 14 and 5, but ill have to look at mine to be sure and see which one goes where.
  17. gear change isnt a problem as long as you bridge across the plug for both the 3/4 throttle position (kickdown) and the TP sensor for shift points. These inputs go into the original ECU, then back out to go to the PCM. Mine changes beautifully....
  18. I know this has probably be mentioned before, but i couldnt find it anywhere, so if any one can help it would be appreciated. ok, i know the solenoid for the VVT is turned ON at around 1200 rpm and turned off at 5000 RPM if the engine is under load. What i need to know is at what variation this cause's the inlet valve timing and also what is the static timing for the exhaust valves. (Exhaust closes ATDC as well as overlaps). I havn't been able to find anything about valve open and closing, only durations. these are of course stock cams, on a R33 Any help would be appreciated.
  19. Well go ahead and buy it from ebay then.......... You cant buy them from Australia for that, you prepared to take the chance and buy from overseas. be my guest.
  20. Yeah, email me and ill send you details on postage and so on...

  22. Why was my thread deleted, it wasnt breaking any rules??? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=2686524236
  23. All quartz movement, assembled in hong kong with parts from the swiss and japan. It is a very nice watch, photo makes it look gold (flash), but its all silver, very slim and very slim band. This is probably a better pic for color.... http://members.iinet.net.au/~kbam/GTR!.jpg
  24. GTR watch for sale.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...MESSE%3AIT&rd=1 I am selling this and i have more coming if anyone is interested... Also a few other items with Nissan labeling.
  25. Any one interested in this watch, keychain or pocket watch. Make on offer on all or either...
