  1. no, different altogether
  2. wish i had shares in the company that makes gen 3 pistons, id be laughing now.... some dealers are rebuilding 3 a week, lucky to make the first service.....
  3. would only be of benefit if you were doin line lockers.
  4. i think your ion ofr a bit of an expensive mistake, thats if your A/F meter cost much.... Most oxygen sensors put out around .2 to .8 of a volt, depending on if its running rich or lean. From what i can see, and i tested this on an oscilliscope, the oxygen sensor on my r33 switches from 0 to battery voltage, around 14 volts. It has 3 wires, an earth, a voltage supply and a signal wire. i would check this out before i wired the A/F meter up.
  5. Where are you and what offers would you take for the auto without being offended????
  6. Still for sale????
  7. Pumps a crescent type pump, they put out more than enough pressure. There is no hoses in a trans, just stell pipes and galleries in the housing or valve body. The problem occurs when the pressure control solenoid dumps excess pressure back to the transmission pan, instead of directing it to the band servos and clutch packs.
  8. The pressure control solenoid controls how hard the bands and clutches apply, and hold. Heavy throttle means more power, so the bands and clutches have to apply harder and hold more, light throttle, not as much pressure is applied, mainly to save fuel. Higher control pressure means the pump has to work harder, which drags more power from the engine. If the pressure is too low, ie, heavy throttle but low pressure, the bands and clutches tend to slip, which causes engine flaring on gear changes....
  9. Well, found out something interesting today. Seems the RE4R01A auto trans in the skylines is also in the Patrols. A common problem with them also is the pressure control solenoid, which it what i think is my problem...
  10. Can anyone tell me if the trans used in a 93 r33 has any similarites to any nissans trans sold locally. I think im going to have to do a overhaul on mine, and was wondering if i can get the parts from a nissan dealer??? Maybe even heavy duty parts??? Thanks
  11. can you post it here, id be interested as well at the right price... oh, mine is a r33
  12. I didnt take the pics, that JPM guy did, hes always at eastern creek, i got some pics off him last drive day, very good...
  13. Hey, some good pics up of the drive day on the 3rd, check these out.... http://www.jpmphoto.com.au/Galleries/MotoC...02002/index.htm
  14. i went to a motec seminar about 8 months ago, and i asked why they dont use knocks sensors, they said because the knock sensors cant distinguise engine knock caused by detonation from any other shock wave going through the block. Even factory setups well retard timing for no real reason. Even shockwaves from Suspension are enough to cause timing alterations. The best way to set ignition timing is ona dyno to start with, then on the road, using the data loggin capabilites...
  15. Sorry to disappoint you, but motec doesnt use any detonation detection. i have wired up and prgramed a m48, onto a 1.6L turbo capri engine i have on a engine dyno, lots of fun playiong with it. As far as the AFM goes, it will. Go that is, you need a 3 bar map sensor for any forced induction engine. The M800 gives you closed loop operation, set at any A/F ratio you desire, but evn that doesnt use a knock sensor. Remember, you get what you pay for, if Motec wasnt the best, they wouldnt be in all the touring cars.
  16. this should have been with the first message
  17. and another
  18. Been playing, seen some pics the other day similar to these, just worked out how to do it..............
  19. Jay. Spoke to tech support about an unrelated problem just now, and i asked him about this thing with logging on under someone elses name. The same thing was happening with yahoo games for me. What it looks like is if you are using a proxy server, as i just started to, anypages any iprimus user looks at is stored on iprimus's server in their cache. If someone goe and looks at the same page, it loads off their cache instead of off SAU server. They were going to have a look at it anyway, if it keeps happening just set your browser to connect direct to the internet, instead of through the iprimus proxy server. Now another problem has popped up, has to do with the web address that the smily icons come from, freaking the loading of SAU right up.
  20. the power curve angle, how long it levels out and when it drops off is pretty well determined by the cam. Duration, lift and overlap... l¥le.. 164 kw is 219.9 Hp, and that was at the rear wheels...
  21. no, power curve will always drop, hits a peak then drops off as the rpm gets higher.......
  22. happened to me too, but its only on the front page, i really dont think that you could access anyone elses pm's. Once your logged on it would use your cookies, so without the other guys password i doubt you could see their settings, pm's, and that they could see yours. Make sense? didnt think so BTW, ip address are dynamic, which means you never have the same one consecutively, you are allocated a new one everytime you log on, so it would have to be the first couple of numbers. iprimus is acting weird latley, I could be way off base too though LOL:lol:
  23. iprimus... all this started just 3 days ago, so something has to have been altered to start it....
  24. nope, its not you computer, mines been really silly for 2 days now, acording to my header im logged on as jay95r33, the other day it was red, hit the "view new messages", it comes up saying 75 new messages, after i get through the first page it says there are 12 new messages... weird, who looks after this, or we got hackers or something.....
  25. no problem, if i get a box, ill source the other parts somewhere else...
