thanks for that, I took off both mirrors and there wasn't that much rust there so its a DIY. the driver side had next to nothing but the passenger side was a little worse, 99% of it is under the mirror so you cant see any of the repairs.

yeah thats probably all that i need. I am fixing the rust under the mirrors and there is just a touch where the mirrors don't cover so i dont really see the need to go get some mixed and all that cheers

spotted another stag today, along hobblers bridge rd bout 8 ish, I had never seen one in launceston till i got mine now they are every where!!!! more common then a commodore

Rons automotive, I have never seen a normal car in his work shop, all's that they seem to do is work on imports, which must tell you something. they are all to happy to help and dont charge through the roof. boost automotive, i was there today putting the car over the pits and looking around and talking to the guy they seemed to have it all worked out, If i was taking my import some where to get worked on, it would be one of these two places, yes there are other good mechenics out there but you want some one who works on them all the time and not just guessing on what they are doing thats my two bob worth and why is my spell checker not working any more?????

hey all the car is now registered and ready for action! I took it over the pits and got new plates today so i can finally drive it around. I took it to boost automotive in invermay and they where very helpful with all questions and they actually new what they where talking about so i think i will be taking the car there for its services

hey there just chasing the part that goes around the hazard light switch or it could be one hole part which means i am after the hazard light switch and also interior light cover for the middle and rear, mine is a series 2 but hoping they are the same cheers

yeah that sounds right, man there is alot of shit under there, I didnt think the oil felt like gear box oil, They are such a cool car i cant wait to get i on the road again, next wednesday i should have it registered

thats enough about the trip, i do have a couple of questions, at the very back of the gear box a little past the transfer case there is a hard rubber block/cube and just after that there is a hose of some kind that comes out,just trying to figuer out what its for as after the 1000km i ticked up there is a small amount of fresh oil build up around where the hose goes into the gear box the hose has heat shield stuff around it (factury not after market) there is a canister of hydrolic fluid in the right rear, hicas maybe? i have a sound that 2 seconds after coming to a dead stop the sound will stop, sounds like a dirty bearing/pump is there any hydrolic pump for the hicas or any thing like that that would do that you can only just hear it any input would be good PS love the stagea

hello hello, i and the car have made it back in piece. the trip went very smoothly, i learnt a few things on my trip, like dont drink a large coffee before you get on a plane, i thought i was going to explode! If you plan on going on a large road trip for god sakes remember to bring some cds along!!!!!!!!!!!!! what made it worse was the cd player wasnt from this country which meant FM went from 60 to 90 hz (it could only pick up 3 channels, Opra being three of them) I now know every sound that my car makes If you ever go on the spirt of tasmania never and i mean never get the ocean veiw recliners O my god i think i only got about 3 hr sleep One scary thing that did happen was straight after picking the car up i heard a clicking noise so i pulled in to a servo and while i was filling the car up i had a quick look from where the noise was coming from and it turn out that two of the wheels had loose wheel nuts and im talking loose loose! Just think wow! I cant drive the car for the next week as i have to put it over the pits and get it regesterd as the car came with a three day temp registration which will save paying two lots of stamp duty. ( in theroy) Love the car, it sits really nice on the road, going to spend this weekend putting a new stereo in it and maybe a polish

yeah i would have liked to stay up there a bit longer, we are a bit under staffed at work at the moment so i was trying to keep them happy, should have taken the whole week off!! Well just got the mechanic report and it seems all good, it needs a wheel alignment and there was a oil sweat mark on the transfer case (very miner) and a few nicks here and there! I talked to sean and he was all to keen to take care of the wheel alignment and have a look at the transfer case, i went for the one year option but now thinking maybe 3 years would be the go, I was eying that not a f%#k'n volvo sticker off thinking thats pretty cool No its just a normal stagea not a prime edition stag
