Spotted a lovely Silver R32 GTR today along Mona Vale Road just before St Ives. Had an SAU sticker on the rear side window. Fairly dirty at the rear end of the car. Number plate was 'AQ 92 ZI'. The guy driving it was very conservative, good driving If he's online here I was in a white Peugeot 206 just near the petrol station at St Ives shops. Peace

The route I go to school every day - Pacific Highway then backstreets past Turramurra Shops and up onto Junction Road.. I see at least 2 Skylines a day. This is all within a 10 minute trip. It's crazy. Seen a lot of nice R32's as of late. A red GTR parked outside a house near the petrol station there. Drove behind a f**king clean as White R32 GTR on Junction Road just before the roundabout. And about 20 R33's in the last couple of days along that road. Usually silver. And several R31's also.

Saw 4 Skylines today within the space of about 20 minutes driving! Two R33's - one black the other silver in the morning around Turramurra/Wahroonga area. Near Kintore Street In the arvo; white R34 GTT around the same area as described - let off some loud revs as it went past And a light blue R31 turning from the Pacific Highway onto Telegraph Road at Pymble. Red P-Plater

Not sure if this is in the right section of the forum, but it's late and I'm a bit out of it I am basically looking to purchase a R32 NA in around December-March period. I live in Sydney on the North Shore. I will travel as far as Newcastle if the offer is there. Is anyone particularly interested in selling?? I have around 13-15K to spend by that time. Any responses would be terrific Hoping to hear from you soon Seb

Hoping to get mine soon! It's my forum name here Don't steal mine please

Saw two Skylines today. -One black R32 GTR parked outside a Hornsby apartment like 2 minute walk from the shops -A white R34 GTT cruising along Mona Vale Road close to Telegraph Road No stickers but! Anyone here?
-
Love the idea guys! Looking forward to seeing this soon.

That's sad to hear mate. (about getting over the scene) f**king crooks don't realise what an impact it can have on the person. Or maybe they do and they are all assholes. A tracking system would be mint. Depends about the monthly fee though? Any idea?

My First Skyline - R32 Gts-t
SEB88Y replied to mark_sudakov's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Brilliant buy mate! Congratulations! I'm really liking the colour by the way. Hope security/insurance works out. Good luck! -
What! Are you serious? Care to post up who produced and installed the pager alarm and immobiliser? What system to do you use now following the theft?
-
I'm so sorry to here this mate. Sorry for the belated message! I guess it just shows the importance of an immobiliser and proper alarm system. http://www.securityinmotion.com.au/page/car_alarms.html - for future reference mate and anyone else considering installing an alarm/immobiliser system I highly, highly recommend it. I'm hoping to get my Skyline in January and as an extremely paranoid person I'm hoping to spend a couple grand on just security. There is a terrific alarm/pager system in that link - Autocate800 GSM Pager/Alarm/Immobiliser, so that when the car is 'intruded' or whatnot, a message is sent to your mobile number immediately so you take the appropriate action. Here is another link http://www.carsafe.com.au/t_09.html . Hope these are of some use! No, I'm not a sales person. Just looking out for fellow forum members. I can't begin to imagine way your feeling at the moment Sav. Hang in there mate. All the best.

My mistake. Forgive my ignorance
-
So it ain't turbo? Can the seller confirm? Although I won't have enough cash until December/January
-
I'm assuming this is turbocharged? If not, I'm a very keen buyer. But I'm only on my Red's..
-
That is f**king sex on wheels mate! What an amazing R32! I could hardly recognise it!
-
You gotta admit though the 206 has got some killer acceleration on it Cheers for the welcome
-
Wow mate top buy for that cash! Hope there ain't any problems in the long run. Cheers for the replies guys. Whilst I'm still split for choice it's great to have feedback.
-
Cheers for that buddy! Again, any R32ers wishing to sway me?
-
Ha you presumed correct Tweaking too much so early on, and my lack of knowledge on modding .. yea .. And yes my avatar is an R33 but I'm still split between alleigances haha
-
Whilst, I'd love to drop a new engine into the car ... considering I don't own the car outright, I think I'll only be doing some small rice mods but nothing too major for the time being on the internals. Out of interest is the R32 any more reliable in turns of maintenance? Or because of it's age it's more prone to breakdowns? Are there any R32ers here who can comment on this? Thanks for the replies guys, keep them coming!
-
Cheers for the reply mate! My mistake before, I mixed Series 1 and 2 up haha. I agree the Series 2 does look alot nicer. PM me if you want, but what are your insurance costs approximately? I'm yet to have an accident of any sort, so I'm in a similar boat to you, before you purchased your Skyline (just presuming). My main concern is insurance and especially maintenance costs. Considering I have little income compared to my Dad, he'll be the one covering most of the costs till I earn a bit of dough.

Basically I have around $15,000 to spend on a Skyline for my birthday in January. I'm currently on my Red P's on an auto license. I'm making the switch to manual upon buying either the R32 GTS or R33 GTS Series 1. Just out of interest, what are the main advantages and disadvantages of the two and which in you're opinion is the better value for money, runs better, breaks down rarely, easier to mod etc. Basically I just need advice on which one I should choose. Sure, it's down to personal choice and all, but it's nice to see an outside view. Personally, I'm leaning towards the R32 GTS which I've recently fallen in love with. Convince me! Any reply is highly appreciated. Thanks Seb EDIT: If anyone thinks another car is more suitable on P-plates (due to insurance or whatever) say

It's not extensive research by any means. But its out of the latest Fast Fours mag The article is about the best buys for P-Platers, with like the Top 10 cars listed. The list I posted before about prohibited vehicles was only from NSW, not for Australia. So my mistake on that regard. Here are the conditions for P-platers from NSW, QLD and Victoria. Sorry guys, these are the only ones listed NSW - prohibited from driving (with P1/P2 issued after 11 July 2005) -Eight or more cylinders (except diesel) -A turbocharged engine (e.d) -A supercharged engine (e.d) -Engine performance modifications -cars restricted from driving -BMW M and M3 -Honda NSX -Nissan 350Z -All Porsches (past 1994) -exceptions in NSW -All diesel powered vehicles -Suzuki Cappuccino (1992-97) -Daihatsu Copen -Smart Cars (all) Queensland - prohibited from driving -Eight or more cylinders -A turbocharged or supercharged engine (except diesel) -An engine with a power output of more than 200kW -A rotary engine with a capacity of more than 1146cc -An engine performance modification that is not standard -exceptions (turbocharged) in QLD -Suzuki Cappucino (1992-97) -Daihatsu Copen (2003 +) -Smart fortwo Coupe (2000+) -Smart fortwo Cabriolet (2000+) -Smart Roadster (2000+) Victoria - prohibited from driving (with P1/P2 license issued after 1 July 07) -Eight or more cylinders -Turbocharged or supercharged engine (except diesel) -A modified engine that increases performance -BMW M (98) -BMW M3 (94-04) -BMW M5 (90) -BMW Z4 (2006+) -Nissan 350Z (02+) -Honda NSX (1991-2002) -Porsche 911 (93-06) -Porsche (Boxster) -Porsche Cayman (06+) -Mercedes Benz SLK 360 (04+) -Mercedes Benz C350 (05+) -Mercedes Benz C36 (1995) -exceptions -Turbocharged or supercharged diesel powered vehicles -All models of Smart Car -Suzuki Cappuccino (92-97) -Daihatsu Copen (03+) The ones that made it through regardless of state: -E30 BMW M3 -Lotus Elise -VW Golf R32 Hope this helps!
