Whos Soldered In A Nitune Board ?
3LGODZILA replied to 3LGODZILA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
who did u get to tune yours? n how long did it take u to tune it best you could urself? -
how much did u pay from rocket? i had a look at those other ones, how do they work do they have plug in modules which are a certain rpm? tryna think how that'd work would u need 2 modles 1 to turn it off at a certain rpm and 1 at a certain rpm to switch it off?

Whos Soldered In A Nitune Board ?
3LGODZILA replied to 3LGODZILA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
nah none of the ebay sellers ship internationally....just my luck lol umm wats the consult cable n software for, tuning it? coz yeah im no tuner i was gonna take it to allstar or hyperdrive. did u tune yours yourself? -
ok ive been on nistune.com and soldered everything except for the 4 wires. on the type 2 installation guide it says the following wire 1: closest to pad 61 wire 2: next pad wire 3: next pad wire 4: closest to pad 9 its got a pic and i can see where the wires go. but this is obviously for an rb20. i wanna use my rb20 ecu to run my rb25det (like many others have) just wondering it ALL the wiring and soldering is the same between the 2 coz the site doesnt say much

im chasing a rpm switch from MSD Ignition the part number's 8969. ive tryed Rocket Industries them being the australian distributor and they recon the switches are on backorder and wont be avalable for another month or so. theres a few on ebay US but none of the sellers ship internationally! and theres none listed on ebay australia. does any1 know who i could talk to to try and get one in? i need it to control my vct and cant really tune the car without it. (running nicely btw)

thats the standard gtr bov(s) ? sounds like running no bov
-
i was told i could just use the jaycar switch which was less then $40 but i found out the hard way u cant at the time it seemed easier then modifying the injector loom and messing round with the tps. if i were to do it again id go down the 300zx ecu path but ive already go the ecu and nistune board
-
in the vid it kinda sounds like a blown turbo but obviously if u cant feel ANY differnce in performance its not the turbo

im gonna be using a r32 ecu with nistune in my r33 gtst. with the standard ecu without vct im told it runs like ass, would this be the same with a tuned r32 ecu? basic mods with a highflowed turbo so should see 200-230kw ive bought the jaycar frequency switch to control the vct but apparently it wont switch the vct on until revs drop below what the minimum is set to so its pretty much useless. so the next best option to get the vct working is an MSD window switch which apparently works perfectly. but its gonna cost around $300 due to our shitty dollar and there on backorder from the USA and cant get any in for a few months - yeah real helpful. btw this was trying to buy through Rocket Industries

Frontbar/intercooler Airflow Question
3LGODZILA replied to mystery_kid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
wouldnt worry about it, as said before if anything moving the numberplate would help more -
yea same thing was happening after i got my safc tuned, only happened on cold nights. i just gave it like 90% throttle when it was real cold otherwise just turn the boost down a smidgen. but if ur keen to do it properly and spend a bit of coin get a z32 afm and an ecu, i personally would just turn the boost down unless you were planning on getting an ecu anyways. ive heard you can tune past the standard afm but apparently its not recommended. dont quote me on this but ur better off mentioning it to ur tuner getting his opinion
-
so ur hearing flutter and ur boost gauge needle is all over the show under acceleration? that sounds weird. btw flutter is the noise of the air running back through the turbo when u close the throttle it shouldn't be doing it under acceleration

Converting My R33 Gtst To A Ls2 With A Cappa Blower
3LGODZILA replied to redrum33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
suuup bro ive pruven al deez hayters wrong dont lisen 2 them jus folo yuuur dreamz and B the sickest dude in brissy. chek my ride iv alredy dun the exact same conversion u wonna do. i pick up 2 many chicks with it that my testicles carnt produce enuf semen to ceep up ay -
wats it actualy doing? sounds like either boost cut or missfiring. when my coilpacks were missing i noticed popping and a loss of power under full throttle when i was hitting boost cut it ran fine and boosted fine but as it got to like 14psi a massive loss of power felt like everything just shut down then when boost dropped the car came back alive. ecu shouldnt hit boost cut at 10psi but ur boost gauge may be out or something. ive had both yellow jackets and splitfires. both did exactly the same job. i originally bought the yellow jackets but a few weeks later i claimed splitfires for free on my used car warranty. yellow jackets/JJR/superspark are all china copies of splitfires so most of the time they'll do the same thing but u might get unlucky and get 1 faulty one or something like that. and also splitfires have been proven to run for many years without problems as for the china copies they've only been on the market for a few years so who knows how long they'll last.

What Psi Standard R33 Bov Good For
3LGODZILA replied to queensalnd's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
if i block off that small hole on the side, the one thats supposed to make it leak at idle or something, will it hold more boost? or will it be fine to just leave it? -
Setting Up Vct Switch On Rb25 (freq. Sw. From Jaycar)

r u talkin about the jaycar unit? let us know how it goes n if theres any probs, -

3LGODZILA replied to 3LGODZILA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
so the jaycar switch is a fail then? +1 about the msd unit -
yea thats what i was thinking. im planning to run around 18psi tuned anyways so i spose if its not going over 18 im happy with that. i just didnt want to put it on the dyno and get everything tuned to only find out its boosting over 18psi. i know i might hav to, but i dont like the idea of spending a few hundred on a cat thats gonna make my car slower

LOL badluck dude

Setting Up Vct Switch On Rb25 (freq. Sw. From Jaycar)
3LGODZILA replied to 3LGODZILA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
i heard the msd ones were a couple of hundred bucks otherwise i would of got one of them. crans just check that the battery is alrite 1st, even if u hook up a jumper pack or something then if its still not charging check the basic conections (main pos and neg from battery, and the connections on the starter and alternator) if thats all good then get someone to rev the engine while u got your meter on there if the voltage still isnt going up then its your alternator, most likely brushes or diodes -
yeah ive got a 3inch decat pipe so the exhaust is pretty free flowing. by signal tubing do u mean all the vac lines? ive replaced all them with aftermarket silicone stuff and yes its standard ecu ive got an safc but its unplugged as id rather it be rich then lean. ive got an rb20 ecu with a nistune board and vct switch ready to go in the car and get tuned but i thought i should get this prob fixed before i get that tuned. pal, how did the aftermarket ecu stop the boost from creeping?

ok this is really turning into a major pain in the ass. my previous topic (overboosting with split dump/front screamer pipe) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Ov...23#entry5150823 so ive done the tests and listened to the people and got rid of the JJR split dump/front pipe and replaced it with the 3inch bellmouth front/dump pipe i previously had on the car which had no issues before. beleive it or not the car is sill overboosting but i dont think as bad as before. ok so i went for a test drive, in 2nd gear by about 5500-6000rpm boost was around 18psi and then something weird happend, the car felt as if it lost a bit of power for a second then gained it back while i was watching the boost gauge the boost went down to about 16 then back up to 18 at this point i was at 7000rpm. now ive hit boost cut before (when a workshop wound my standard turbo up to 15psi instead of tuning my safc) and this definately wasnt the same power loss as when i hit boost cut bofore. if anyone hasnt read the previous topic i made: car is running a basic highflowed turbo, full 3inch exhaust, fmic, no boost controller the wastegate is straight off the manifold pressure. the only thing i can think of is the wastegate. when i pumped compressed air into it before it onli moved half way (and it definately wasnt fouling on the dump pipe) im assuming this is the preload on the actuator but if i loosen this off i wont be able to hold boost properly. suggestions? cheers fellas
