Clint, what about the cold rock ice creamery there at northlakes? Just a suggestion anyway.

totally not cool. I'v tried both of those now, NTN make them we called their head office and because of the nissan patent on the bearing you can't get it anywhere else. So what happens when supply runs out? I doubt nissan make the same bearing now. So $540 for front bearing and roughly $120 for rear rack, that's just under 700 for 2 pieces. Plus the gearbox, clutch, power steering and brake fluid all getting changed. so I'm looking at about $1500 just for maintainance on a car I drive maybe once a week, talk about getting over it. Thanks for the help anyway Blackers, I appreciate it. Do you think it's because my suspension has literally no play in the springs, I have sum aftermarket greddy coils in it and it is super super stiff. I'm starting to think it could be that because it ins't absorbing the shock as well, it could be it is wearing the bearings quicker?

hiya all, my skyline has been in the mechanics now for some 2 weeks. passenger side front and back wheels have movement in them, i have a genuine rear rack end ordered for the back for like 100 the problem is with the front passenger balljoint bearings, the kit number from nissan is 40579. the main bearing part number is SF08A26VPX1, this is the part in which i have had great difficulty finding. There is one kit down in melbourne for roughly $540 plus my mechanics markup the main bearing comes with what looks like a metal and rubber seal the mechanic has even contacted the manufacturer of the bearings but as nissan has a patent on it they can't sell it. any help would be great as the bearing would want to give me more satifaction then driving for that price. I seriously dont understand how the rear rack end is only 100 when 2 small bearings and a seal is more then 5 times that.
-
i'll come down with clint as mine is stilllllllllllllllllllllllllll off the road.... unless i can find this bearing cheaper, i'll be paying $540 for a effin bearing.

Any one else have grief with ball joints and rear rack ends, I fix one, another goes, it's getting beyond annoying. damn facking maintenance. My slug is still M.I.A
-
I'm still off the road until next week, thursday if i'm lucky but more likely i'll pick it up friday.
-
I just got home from work, and there is something seriously wrong with my passenger side suspension, the 33 is unfortunaly off the road until the 23rd.

I don't think there are many of us are there? <10. If u want to change the venue i don't mind, but i'll prob just park infront of pizza capers as I will be buying dinner there, they can't really hassle us if we are going there to buy some food and are actual customers. If we turned up to do 'hektic skidz' in the underground car park i could understand why they would call the cops.
-
nice , randomhero an i will most likey drive down together again, being at pizza capers i might be able to convince my girlfriend to come too. It's like her kryptonite. lol
-
yeah just to many people hang out on the sidewalk waiting for skids, you can't see any oncoming traffic as you leave, tis quite annoying. So are we on for thursday? hopefully it's not raining.
-
isn't that the usual at harry's? lol
-
no I never go down there but thanks for pointing it out. I'll try spot it on my way to work
-
lol I noticed that, just take the exit and hammer thru to the on ramp if u wanted too, the 10-20 seconds you lose from the 'detour' you make back up at 150+ *ahem* not that I wanted to try or anything. lol

Rev did you have problems with your diff before the re-shim? I ended up picking up H@me's 2nd hand diff and taking it to Dan, I don't think my diff would of survived the drive down to ERD to be honest. Col I agree with you those costs are impressive, when the synchros get a bit more worn I'll look at rebuilding it, will definitely be getting a quote from Diff Lapping. thanks for the help everyone
-
Ok thanks for all the advice, it has been a help. I agree with you that abuse is not going to help anything. My diff should be in within the next fortnite so you will probably get a call from me soon Chris. In the meantime I will take apart the remote x2 (neither work) and clean it all out. The blue light comes on the remote but it's like the receiver has crapped itself, I used to be able to sit next to the car and just repeatedly hit the remote buttons for about 5 mins before it would unlock, now I just keep it key locked and moved it inside the garage. lol. So i'm not going to bother with strathfield anymore when the diff is in and the car starts i will just take it to Audio-express. Thanks all

When I spoke to the Slacks Creek store I asked for the regional managers/Rep number and the person I spoke to refused to give it to me. EDIT : I just googled "strathfield headoffice number" badabing badaboom. I'll try it in the morning. I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier, thanks. any other advice is welcome.

Hi guys, Any one know what's up with the Morayfield branch of Strathfield. They have been closed for 2 weeks now, and they installed my alarm/immobilizer nearly 2 years ago and now it is being very temperamental. I figure since they installed it, they can look at it only problem is I can't even contact them. I have left emails, called repeatedly, called other branches (slacks creek was useless) and I can't get thru to anyone. now my car won't start sometimes due to the immobilizer being active and the central locking has stopped working, I'm at a loss as what to do with my situation. I have even threatened Strathfield that if I didn't get a reply within a week I would be seeking further action, and that was last monday 17/1/11 well over 7 days now. The goose I spoke to at slacks creek basically told me he didn't care that they were not open because it was shut due to 'health and safety' reasons. Being heavily into workplace health and safety (whso/rep) I know this is not the case they should have been opened up by at least last Wednesday, (unless they have some retarded policy stating other wise) I doubt I have any sort of case against them so seeking further action would be a stupid waste of time, money and effort. would it be worth calling up Cyclops alarms to see where the next closest distributor is and working it out from there or should I wait for Strathfield and sling them abuse when they finally open their doors? Any advice would be handy thanks
