  1. Willalls are getting their new 4WD dyno next week (I think!) so I am sure there will be some before & after runs done soon. There are a few std R35s in Adelaide in bad need of the midpipe so stay tuned........ I havent had my JDM dynoed yet so will get that done before going futher.......... Hmmmmmm... those new turbos in the other thread look damn nice! I was spinning the cores by hand the other day & you can really feel the difference. Be interesting to see if the throttle response stays the same considering they should spool faster being ball bearing & also the turbine is slightly larger.
  2. Sick. Just what we need. More power....... Go!
  3. I took my R35 GTR out to Mallala yesterday for track day (my Race R33 was not ready - still waiting for better brakes) Mananged a best of 1min 16.4 (timed using GPS track timer supplied by another R35 owner). Keir ran a 15.8 in his white R35! He was flying. He also had his new EVO X out there but the brakes were not up to the pace but I think they got into the teens with it. I did run a bunch of 18s & a few 17s. I was amazed at the different times I was getting from different people timing with stopwatches etc for the same lap! From now on I am only going to rely on driftbox or GPS track timers as the stopwatches do not seem to be very accurate. Cant wait to get my race R33 out there with the new brakes on it.
  4. R35 GTRs are great cars but dont kid yourselves, they are not very nice as daily drivers around town. This buyer has obviously been tempted by all the hype & tried it for a little while, but after a month or so of using it regularly & seeing how little he got to go for it on the freeway or race track & how much of a compromise it was on the luxury of the R8 (or any other luxury German sports sedan) he has opted out & gone back to the opulence & style of a European car. 90% of the time he is right. Its hard to say but unfortunately most people will never understand the pleasure of daily cruising in a $200k+ luxury car. I was almost there with my BMW 550i ($190k) & a lot of the time I miss it dearly but took the plunge to buy the R35. I am a bit more hardcore than the average businessman & am prepared to make that sacrifice for the sake of performance in the hills ( & the odd time I get to destroy someone on the way to work - I do have the rare pleasure of a nice 90+ zone on the way there with a few 3 lane wide traffic lights that often turn red just before I get to them!!! Ha Ha.) but for most it is just too much of a pain to live with & I can understand this guys decision to go for an S8 or similar. $100k. ??? What the hell are you smoking mate? Must be good. Or maybe you are just trying to get your posts up. We have been seeing a few of these lately. Keep you hands off the keyboard & back on your ......
  5. Dude. Just put a price on it & see what happens. No-one here will put there hand up unless you put your balls on the wall & see what happens. Looks like a gamble to me. These things are that fast I dont think it will be long before we see a few local ones on the market like that (of course I hope not - but lets wait & see) 20 years to catch up? Hmmm. Didnt see Porsche at Bathurst 20 years ago. (But I was too busy drag racing Holdens back then to care anyway!!!)
  6. I do find the UBD quite usefull. Sat navs are for wives cars that cant read maps! Having trouble finding your way round Perth Danny? Could always ask a police officer. HaHa.
  7. Ouch, thats hurts to look at. Hope mine never looks like that! It looks like a JDM. Is it in Australia or is it USA?
  8. Martin you arrogant C&%ksucker, see you at the track!
  9. Ha Ha. What have I started? I will be at a private track day next week. If anyone wants to bring out their Skyline & have a go at my R35 let me know & will send details. In the meantime I will keep practicing kicking my own arse with my Race GTR. Let me know how it goes Gibbo...... I would love to get over there & race you but is too hard to get a way at the moment.
  10. Woah... time to pull your head in mate. Bring it on. Near stock R35 vs your R34 GTT next week at the track. Lets see if you will put your money where your mouth is.......... looks like you have a few posts under your belt. Bring your car over here & lets see how your index finger works on your steering wheel. No offense, but you pull up an old tread & spout that shit? Take it easy. didnt see you driving in that video.
  11. Yep, its good to get on the pipe!
  12. I love to get on the pipe.............. hard to get off once you are on it! Willall fluid is great too. I am doing their engine & diff oil as well shortly.
  13. Thats weak. You should be over 16L per 100km or you are driving like a Nanna. Get some revs happening. Running in!!!! Didnt you read the brochure? They put the new engine on an engine dyno & pull FULL REVS FOR 10 MINUTES!!! What are you going to do to it. Get out there & GO GO GO. Just remember...... DONT BE WEAK. ha ha have fun Thanks NYTSKY as you can see I like my cars (might just be the first guy in Australia to get his R35 GTR impounded too so take the previous egging on with due warning - these car attract attention)
  14. Check out the prices on the lastest street directory. They are pretty reasonable & you can take a couple of minutes while the GTR warms up & know where you are heading from the start instead of driving blind & turning at the last minute!!! Might just be me but I have never liked Sat nav that much & I have 2 new BMWs with the best Sat nav in the business ( they invented it in the first place!) I think they belong in the wives cars (lets face it - they are not much good at maps are they!) BTW. if you want a good quality screen buy a JDM because the old pacman screen in the ADMs is pretty crap!
  15. If the car is being transferred to another owner then stamp duty is payable. If you are just changing address to another state but is still your car then you have already paid stamp once & thats it. Cars that are bought from interstate dealers that are registered over there & then come here did not have stamp paid as dealers have exemption so we have to pay it here when put car in our name. The stupid thing is the Gov gets a slice EVERY time a car is sold which is ridiculous. Ist time fair enough, 2nd, 3rd, 4th is just a rort. Same goes for houses...... Best just to buy one car & one house & keep them till you die!!! Sounds a bit boring though. Oh well. Like I always say - if you want to play......you have to pay.
  16. Just filled up this morning - got 16L/100km on last 55L. No country driving, just trashing around town.
  17. Who are you kidding? A std R35 can dust a $60k R34 with $60k spent on it. In fact, just yesterday, I drove my Street R33 GTR (which has had well over $100k spent on it) which has been sitting in the shed without much love for a number of weeks now - just for a bit of old school back to back to see how it felt after spending a few weeks 'hooning' around in my R35. Man I have loved that R33, have had it for 6 years, but after getting used to the R35 it is just old hat. My R35 has only had a few minor mods but is just faster, smoother, better. The king is dead........ Long live the king. No offence, but you really have to get a few thousand kays under your belt in one of these things to understand how good they really are. Reading about them just does not cut it. I am a bit of a movie buff, but when DVDs came out I took the plunge & chucked out the VCR!! BTW - I still have wood for my Holinger so I love a good manual on the track & my daily cruise car runs an auto so I am not one eyed on the transmission front.
  18. I am getting around 23L/100km with my modified R33 GTR so last couple of tanks around 17L/100km in the R35 seems alright to me (considering I love my midpipe so much & love to hear its tune!) Will check it out now I have new Cobb tune & see if average changes. The Cobb tune feels much more linear & definately feels stronger. Will put it on 4WD dyno before do any other mods to see where it is at. I am looking at dump pipes & forge actuators next.
  19. They look killer, cant wait to see them on.
  20. If they start crushing cars for so called "hooning" like spinning the wheels off the lights etc or doing 100 in a 60 (so F*^&in what) how about they start cutting off the hands of thieves, or the offending members off rapists, or putting murderers to death (on the spot - no trial) This whole situation is just ridiculous. It is a total bloody joke. They are putting more effort into speeding/hooning then getting real criminals off the street & into jail where they belong. How about getting off their ass & giving us a decent track to go for it instead of all this bullshit......... I am not condoning silly youngsters in so called high powered cars thinking they are fast & smashing their cars up like on Magill road (looked like completely stock motors on the road in the photos!) a while back, but give me a break. The crushing idea is just plain stupid. If the car belongs to someone else or is under finance then who loses out? If a car gets crushed it doesnt stop that person driving another car does it? Does the roll toll get that affected by people doing burnouts? No. High speed maybe. Drink driving definately. Biggest problem in country areas is people falling asleep due to the stupid speed limits. If they raised it to 160 on the freeways no one would fall asleep!!! What is some joker has just stolen a car.. is he going to care about hoon laws if he gets pulled over - dont think so. They should increase the penalties for the criminal behaviour & let common sense prevail on the streets. I go out to Mallala to get my jollies - maybe the cops should put money towards that & get off our back.
  21. I need a genuine R33 GTR front bar, reo, lower lip for my Race GTR. I have a fiberglass one on there but want to go back to original. I am in Adelaide. Colour does not matter - have to paint to match car anyway. Anyone?
  22. Wanted - Genuine R33 GTR front bar, reo, lower lip. Tilbrooks sold the one off my race GTR years ago & now I want to put a std one back on. Anyone?
  23. Drove my ute this week to work, but took the GTR out cruising tonight with a mate from interstate who had not been in an R35 GTR before & had a real hoot. Didn't get much of a chance to go for it but just cruising around with a few little bursts made me realise how much of an improvement the mid pipe has made. It makes me want to drive the car more. Anyone else done done similar mod to their GTR?
  24. This is what I did to my R34 GTR when I got bored with it!!! think I may leave my R35 as it is for now though!
