Munro replied to Munro's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Sold to Dirty. Will get them off car for you. Catch you later. -
SOLD. Although with the Carbon Fibre brakes I doubt you will need to pull the chute!!! At least you will be legal, but they should update those old rules to allow for modern cars that can actually PULL UP before the gravel!

Custom Aluminum Plenum made by Tilbrook Auto & Dyno. Large capacity with bell mouths, mounts for 2nd row of injectors, 100mm Single Throttle body, spacers to delete multiple throttles, Jet Hot coated, was only ever used on dyno & 5 runs at the drags & made huge power on RB30 drag engine. Comes with extention to run straight to turbo if not running intercooler. Cost heaps to make. Sell for $900

Carbon fibre Front & Rear discs with Strange Engineering Calipers on Front & Std Nissan Calipers on Rear, Carbon Fibre pads to suit. These brakes work amazingly well from high speed but are designed to do 2 or 3 big stops then cool for a while so no good for street/circuit use. Awesome for Drag GTR as they reduce the unsprung weight considerably. They weight almost nothing but the braking force is unbelievable! I am now going circuit racing with my GTR & do not need these brakes. Cost over $8000 to set up. Would like to sell for $3500 for complete setup. This is the same gear that Keir Wilson uses on his 8 second R32 GTR & they were supplied brand new by Willall Racing.

R33 Gtr Brembo Brakes Complete Inc Pads
Munro replied to Munro's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I also have a set of front & rear Carbon fibre brakes with Strange Engineering calipers. They are not suitable for street use though. Perfect for Drag racing as they are very light & pull up very well from high speed. -

These Brembo brakes are available for $1000 (buyer could not fit them on his car) -
I had a ball making the video. It included in car footage & a tour of my garage. My wife did the editing & graphics & my cousin who is a public speaker directed the interview. It must of come across too serious for them because it was actually all about cars & I didnt have a big enough gap between my front teeth! Not sure if I still have it (have moved house since) but will have a look for it. I am not that camera friendly but I did try my best. Maybe they should just make up a DVD of some of the applications. Would be a good laugh to watch what some people got up to. I know Martin Donnon applied. We would have made a good team.....oh well. I will just have fun with my own cars.

I will get some photos of the front brakes shortly. -
Willalls have made one for me but havent had chance to get it fitted yet. When I drove Keirs I didnt think the drone was too bad, but I didnt drive it around that much. It isnt bad enough to want to pull it off is it?

No worries, its :- No 1 Revhead Lane, Boost Town For private viewings contact Mr U.R Dreamin Cheers. see you on the streets.........

You can still like both, I love my Beemer & sometimes prefer to drive it. But the new R35 is just such an awesome car, I am just starting to get used to it & already I am extremely impressed with its poise & power down. It is just so fast. I have more powerful cars, but most the time the R35 is just faster, quicker, better, cooler. Cutting edge technology that you can drive to work & still enjoy at the track/hills. Suits me.... If you can afford the Porsche you might still buy one & there is nothing wrong with that as long as you dont claim its faster/better because it is fairly obvious that they are not - just different.

Yeah the race GTR is LOUD. The R35 is QUIET. The amazing thing is that is is not much slower. To answer the question.... on the track the Race car is raw & crazy. nearly 500kg lighter with the holinger sequential box it is just awesome. Didnt get a lot of laps in due to brake fluid going off but did pull a few low 17s just getting used to it & it has lots of potential. Cant wait for another go. The R35 is just amazing. Had a roll on from 90kays with my street GTR behind & the midnight purple R34 GTR with 480rwkw & he got 1 car length & I slowly pulled him in. Unbelievable. Was shocked. They are freaks & I havent even touched it yet (go actuators/midpipe/COBB etc) Does feel heavy on the track though, but did do a few 19s in it. Keir was doing low 16s !!! in his R35. As I said they are freaks. So race track - Go R33 (stay off pit wall if you value your eardrums) Street/hills - Go R35 Making everyone deaf - Go my street R33 on wastegate Nissans Rock.

Was a SICK day & I really had a ball. Drove my Race GTR for the first time in 2 years & also took my new R35 out for a few fun laps as well. Good to see the Skylines out numbering the Porsches & Ferraris! Fun to see a $700,000 Ferrari doing off road work in the paddock as well!!! Congrats on the laps times Martin - you really know how to boogie.....
-
Bravo.... Lets all go to the track & rub door handles. Well said Gibbo! I am going out to the track next week. Cant bloody wait. You have 100 times more fun then on the street & cant get done by the cops. Hope there are lots of corvettes, porsches, & ferraris to play with........ pity it will only be Mallala & not Phillip Island!

All looks right to me.Well done. We all love cars though & if I could I would have lots more cars in the shed just for the fun of owning them. I think the 997 turbo is one of the sexiest cars on the planet & would love to have one in the shed. From my limited experience with Porsches I think they are more comfortable to drive regularly & the R35 is pretty hard to live with for a daily drive (have done 400km in the last 3 days around town & have found it a bit hard). Be great if they werent so bloody dear!!! $350k vs $180k does not make sense really but will be interesting to see what happens to used values on Porsche. I would kill to get a new Camaro in the garage (of course would get some forced induction etc on it) they are a great looking car & would be heaps of fun to drive. Ultimately there is no perfect compromise between what we all want - a comfortable daily driver that we can take to the track on the weekend & cut sick with. I think for now the R35 is a pretty good shot at it.
-
Yep. I second that. I cant believe I even sent in an application to be a presenter. I think I would have shot everyone too & then myself for being involved..... bloody hopeless. I have only watch 2 episodes & even then they were taped so I could fast forward thru 90%.

R35 Paddle shift is the poo... end of thread.
-
Titanium exhaust is the go. $6600 to lose 10kg. Weight watchers might be cheaper....... Will proabably get one anyway 'cause they look like sex (if you happen to be lying on the ground behind your car!) True about the manual mode, have been caught out a few times in auto too.
-
The paddle shifts are awesome. The old way is just that..... the old way. The R35 has the best of all worlds. I have driven BMWs, Maseratis, Ferraris, & Lambos with the single clutch paddle shifts & they were always better than the old floor shift but were jerky & considering that most motoring journalists never get more than a couple of hundred kays in each car they tested they often didnt get to "know" each car intimately & learn how to drive them smoothly. It is no wonder most of them "hate" the "flappy paddle boxes" & yearn for the normal gated floor shift they learnt to use back in the 60s or 70s. Its 2009.........get with the times. You need at least a couple of thousands kays behind the wheel to get to "know" a new car well & the new dual clutch paddle shift gearboxes are the next evolution of seamless motoring pleasure. I have had the extreme pleasure of driving three different types of "manual" gearboxes in the last 36 hours so here is a direct comparison. My R33 "street" GTR has an OS Giken Cross gear set fitted & I love cruising in this car as often as I can. Taking off at lights is always a bit of a pain as with an OS triple plate clutch they often take up differently & smooth take offs are a bit hit & miss ( I have owned this GTR for 7 years & done over 20000ks) & I STILL stall it sometimes. This is a ten second car but unless you sit at the lights on rev limiter & dump the clutch you are usually the slowest over the lights!!! It is great up in the hills & open roads but as a regular traffic car it is a bit of a nightmare & I always avoid peak hour traffic with this car. My R33 "race" GTR has a Holinger Sequential 6 speed GTR box that I ordered new years ago for this car. It has custom ratios & runs the OS giken Quad plate clutch to match the 8 bolt flywheel on the OS 3 Litre engine. The quad plate is actually easier to take off with (Keir found the same with his 8 second R32 GTR) as they are more progressive & seem to be more streetable than the triple plates! The Holinger is just insane for the track & changes like a hot knife thru butter at higher revs(without having to use the clutch - you just blip the throttle to take the torque off the gearface & pull the next gear) but is pretty grouchy at low speeds & on the street people think you just broke your car putting it into first gear to take off. Not very friendly at all but when it is in its element it is other wordly. I have run low nines with this gearbox & you wouldn't have it any other way. I am only just "getting to know" my R35 GTR transmission but already I can see the brilliant combination of automatic setting for taking off in the morning in the traffic, then firm manual shifts for overtaking & weaving thru lighter traffic as peak hour calms down, then race mode shifts for those magic moments when someone actually wants to have a go at you off the lights despite what they have read in all the magazines about our launch control function!!! You want an old floor shift pedal clutch manual? Perhaps you should stay in the old days with pushrods & carbies. I love the character & style of old school cars. I love the look of them & love to see them drive by. But if I am going to drive something myself & enjoy it, give me the best weapon available. My GUN metallic R35 GTR.
