Yes but I was referring to main legs not middle legs!

Does anyone know if the seats are exactly the same size in the JDM & ADM models? A few years ago I owned a bright yellow JDM EVO VII (was on front cover of SPEED magazine with my R34 GTR back in 2003) & found the seat bolsters (mainly the base) a bit tight for my legs. Later I bought an ADM EVO VIII & noticed the seats were wider & a bit more comfortable for me. My JDM R35 is a bit tight too & was wondering if the ADM is the same. I will go check next week, just thought I would ask here first. BTW. No fat ass jokes are required..... I am trying to cut down on the cheeseburgers!!!

Killer. I took my wife out for our first sat night cruise in the R35. We decided to take a little spin up the freeway after dinner & just happened to pull up next to a bright red GT3 & an XR V8 ute at the lights at the bottom. What a dust up......... brilliant car. My two R33 GTRs have heaps more power but this R35 is so refined & feels really fast. Amazing thing is it is going even faster than it feels! My first encounter......... Porsche 0 Nissan 1 Also like being able to pull up next to cops & not having to worry about defect (bit of a problem in a 500+kw external wastegate GTR!) I am going to enjoy getting to know this car.

Yep, true dat. Performance bargain. I am just getting settled in to mine, but can already see greatness. I love porches, have driven all except GT2 & would love to have a Turbo in the shed ( & maybe I will oneday!) but for now am happy to play with my Jappers. I just sold a BMW 550i & will miss the european smoothness & comfort because a regular daily driver my R35 is NOT! Of course that does not matter on Sunday morning when the hills are beckoning..........
-
I was was wondering why my BMW X5 was looking funny at my new R35 in the shed.......... Must be under team orders to give attitude........haha My XR6 Turbo ute knows its place......just give off rubber smoke when required & pay all homage to new king of the garage.

sounds killer, can you tune the zorst for me?
-
I hope I didnt offend your wife!!! BTW what is the driveaway price on your mazda 3?
-
Thats funny! How did we get on to mazda 3s!!! Is this the 2nd wife's car's thread or are we talking about R35 GTRs!!! Keep to the point people.......... or in other words - if you are not getting/quoting actual quotes on buying an R35 GTR then skip to another thread about shopping trolleys!
-
I'm finding I have to check the speedo more often as what feels like 260 can quite easily be closer to 280. Ha ha, thats funny.

No that was 3 days ago. Gold Coast had super silver in stock ready to go & Adelaide could supply gun metal in august & another black one in sept (according to sales manager) I expect Adelaide to always be more. Dealers here dont think we would ever cross the border! The BMW dealer here is amazing.....you want discount!!! the last few cars I have bought have been from interstate.
-
Gold coast dealer said $176k driveaway for super silver. Adelaide dealer want $181k for dark grey premium.
-
Cars always drop value, if you want to play you have to pay.
-
I think they are excellent value, try seriously hotting up an R33 or R34 & see how much you lose.

I am here now, have not seen a gtr yet but have seen an enzo on the back of a truck & heaps of mercs & land rovers everywhere. Steering wheel on the wrong side takes a bit of getting used to! Hot & muggy as hell. I have had a lot of fun taking my street GTR out to mallala but am quite happy with 1 min 17.6 & will now concentrate on getting my other race GTR ready & see what that can do with similar power but 400kg less weight. Will try to get out to the Dubai Autodrome tomorrow to have a look at a different racetrack.
-
Lets invite a W427 out to the next track day & see what some "old school" GTR's & the new R35 do to it in the real world. Long weekend sound's good. PM for details............... BTW. I just took a new BMW M3 sequential box for a spin in the Adelaide hills......... OMG Get some turbos or something..... those thing are F^%*N weak.. sorry. Its the truth. Get some Power.

How many posters on this thread have actually driven either of these cars? Porsche Turbos are awesome & I wish I could afford one!!! The new 997 has the best looking wheels in the world( In my opinion) followed closely by the R35 GTR(of course) & is a fully sick unit. I have never been to Germany to drive on that Hallowed track (probably never will) But I have driven a 996 Turbo when new (a couple of them) & the rest of the range on drive days & a good friend of mine owns a new 997 Turbo & it is an awesome looking car. I wish I could afford one. I love the new R35 GTR, & have driven one on the street (legally) & I will probably buy one, but that doesn't change the fact that the Porsche is a fantastic looking car, is amazing to drive, & will always be one of the ultimate "everyday" supercars. Best looking wheels I have ever seen! If you can afford to spend $200k extra on top of the GTR & buy the Porsche then you will probably have a mate that bought a new GTR anyway & will still get to thrash it so whats the difference!!! After years of dreaming about buying either one of these cars, & spending all my money on my R33 GTR (humble old school pie) I am going out to a private track day at Mallala soon with my OS Giken 3 litre that has just been tuned on E85 ethanol fuel, street rego, 1600cc injectors, 3 fuel pumps, TO4Z turbo, Motec, 420rwkw, F50 Brembo brakes, new RE30 18" with race tyres, very little skill but lots of enthusiasm, etc & will be taking it to the R35 GTR that will be there as well as numerous porsches, lambos, ferraris, evos, BMW M5s, M3s, STis, etc. So if you are in SA & interested in seeing what the R35 can ACTUALLY do to a Porsche on a PRIVATE track day send me a PM & will let you know the details.

We are hoping (if weather permits) to get a nice photo of the 4 generations (R32,33,34,35 GTR) in a line up outside the workshop. We already have the right cars chosen, but if enough skylines are there we could also get a horizion shot as well! We may need some light misting around the edges of the photo & as I have some rear tyres in need of punishment my XR6 Turbo ute has been nominated as the smoke machine of choice. Local law enforcement need not apply as large amounts of smoke seem to affect high speed cameras!!! Any members that have been there recently may have seen a few of my practice runs. If not you could always check out google earth from their last pass .

Yeah, thanks Chops, you know it. I am holding myself back at the moment & will definately buy one. Just need to calm down a bit as I have already bought a few different cars this year & need to get my garages sorted out before I buy anymore. ie I need to free up some storage space & cant seem to decide what to let go. The R35 is F*%^in SICK & needs to be driven hard & modified to its full potential & I Want one as bad as the next guy, but all good things come to those who wait & it seems the the GTR legend is here to stay. My 11 year old R33 is one of the craziest street cars in Adelaide ( anyone who has been in the hills with me will vouch for that) & my other R33 race GTR which will soon be ready for Mallala will be a dream come true for me as far as fun factor goes, so I just want to savour the "old generation" for a little bit more before delving into what is do doubt the best car money can buy under 200K. Will watch with great anticipation to see how the "first" R35 goes. Keir told me today that they have already put a much better exhaust on it & it sounds like a "real" GTR now. Remember, while "newer" is usually better in regards to technology, there can never be a replacement for the old school style, & it will be a long time before an R35 can go flying past a properly sorted R34 or R33. Hello new world of GTRs, & after years of drooling over photos on the net we can actually see & play with them. Those of you who are reading this & are younger than me (that wont be hard - I was born when HQs were new!) wont really appreciate how far we have come - but believe it... We live in very exciting times. Soak it up. It may not last for long....
-
Well I think it's fairly obvious what Keir & Martin are going to do with it... Drive it everywhere!!! I drove the car today for a short lap out on Port Wakefield road & even though I didnt get past 4th gear you can tell it is a very fast car. Going to be lots of fun in the hills, particularly a bit further out where are more open stretches. New gearbox is excellent, driving position great, love the interior & general quality of this car. It comes on boost almost instantly & you have to be quick with the paddles before it runs out of revs. Not like a modified RB26 that just keeps on pulling but you have to wait for it or be in the right gear. I have only just had a little taste but will definately be back for more. We have lost interest in Drag racing due to a number of factors (no track & too many breakages) & have been taking our cars out to private track days at Mallala. Next month the new GTR is going out for some testing against Keir's Gallardo which will be very interesting. The Lambo is faster & will out brake the R35 but takes lots of skill to drive to the limits where the GTR might be easier to push at 10/10ths & may surprise us all. It will be my 3rd time out there in my R33 & cant wait to race against the R35. I am sure it wont stay standard for long & is very exciting to see what will happen with this amazing car. Back in 1991 Keir was one of the first customers in Adelaide to put his money where his mouth was & actually buy a brand new Aussie delivered R32 GTR & that same car is now a 9 second street driven legend. (The 8 second R32 was built up from a shell so he didnt have to cut up the Aussie one) Now, 17 years later, he is the first to own the R35 GTR in Adelaide & he deserves to be. Good on him. He didnt do it to be a big deal, he is a genuine enthusiast, & he has done it for all of us to enjoy with him & why not! Hopefully by this time next year there will be dozens of them cruising around. GO R35.
