  1. Hey calm down pizza boy! Keep up the good work Duncan. I am watching with interest. Nice letter in motor mag. Next years tuner battle will be very interesting.
  2. Looks like I will be developing a large tyre bill trying to get into the 14s!!! LSX - how different does the car feel with lighter wheels & slicks on it?
  3. Yeah, I like the Black album when cranking up the R35!
  4. Thanks. Just want to sort out a few minor details on the R33 & get as much track time as I can. Will usually take the R35 out as well, so if we have to put the race car on the trailer I can get a few laps in with the R35 while I am there. Thats what I did on Monday & I worked well getting use out of both cars on the day.
  5. Well we better do something 'cause its sitting in the shed making faces at the R35! ha ha
  6. Ah, I am not sure at this stage. We are running the car pretty rich until all sorted out. Is great fun to drive (as you can see I was all over the track) so will have to train the beast & try to knuckle down & get it consistent. I am trying to learn the track at the same time as learning to drive the car so have a long way to go. My main goal is having fun, & not wrecking the car so my first mission out there was successful. Had a ball & car is in one piece. There will be no point tuning the car for more power until I can drive it properly so will keep going for it till then & when James feels I am ready we will put slicks on it & turn up the wick! This engine is capable of some serious power & the car is very tight & quite light so when the time is right I will certainly not be weak. Hoping they open AIR for circuit racing again one day, because I would love a go at the straight with a run up off the bowl............ now that would be fun.
  7. Where do I start? First up... toe in.. ha ha ha that killed me. I saw that Colt roll & it took everyone by surprise. I know it is good to get a bit of air but this guy excelled himself. Very bad luck. I agree with you Martin. RH9 was the best sounding car. Steve drifting out of the esses into the start straight on full power was a sight to behold. I was wondering who was laying all the double black lines out of every corner - now I know. Looks like that front diff problem is still there!!! Had a ball in my Race R33. Gratitude to James & Matt from Nisspeed who worked tirelessly to get the car ready & also to my brother Daniel for bringing the GTR out in his new trailer so I could drive the R35 out & have both cars there. The R33 certainly is a handful (huge smoke cloud on 1st hard braking corner shows my inexperience) & we do have a few issues to sort through, but overall I am very happy with the car & looking forward to getting used to it & having some fun. I am used to running nines in a straight line but hitting the brakes at the last minute, steering, & doing it all over again is a bit new to me so will take some practice!!! I was very happy to get a 16.4 & a 16.6 out of the 7 hot laps that I did in the R33. After we decided to trailer the car due to a few minor issues (better to be on the safe side - I have had my share of broken engines!!!) the GSR/EVO guys very graciously let me run the R35 for 1 session & I was delighted with an 18, 2 x 17s, then the 15.8. My best time so far! Fantastic day & cant wait for the next time.
  8. I am still keen. Found a few problems with the race R33 yesterday at Time attack (brake bias, full pressure etc) so hoping to have it more sorted for 26th. Need lots of practice with this new set up so looking forward to it.
  9. I am loving this new tune. Ran my best ever time at Mallala on Mon 5th at Time Attack - 1.15.8 Very responsive & pulls cleanly to redline. I am very happy with it.
  10. If you have not seen or heard Keir's GTR before it is worth coming out just for that. It is one insane sounding car. I heard it on the noise yesterday & there is nothing like it.
  11. One of those R32s is Keir's 9 second aussie delivered GTR & as he is driving his R35 & Martin is driving the EVO X, he is putting Steve Glenney behind the wheel. Last time they took this car out the diffs were not working but it is all good now & has been detuned from over 550rwkw (undriveable!) to around 450rwkw so this will be one to watch out for. My R33 has brand new brakes & is mostly untested so will see how I go with it. Looking forward to a great day.
  12. This is interesting. My R35 has 10000km & one more full track day will be the end of them I think. Might start looking into this as will need some new 18" race tyres for my R33 soon too. We do get reamed buying here locally. I remember a few years ago getting quoted $800+ for an electric Dedenbear water pump, so I rang them direct in USA, gave the ccard details, & had it landed within 10 days for $405 total including postage! Dont even get me started on the price of our new imported cars here!
  13. Oh well, there will be heaps of track days this summer.
  14. Martin & Keir are taking out their R35, EVOX, & the 9 second R32 GTR with Steve Glenney at the wheel! Hopefully SlipR35 will drive his GTR out there as well so we can check it out.
  15. Hey Dan, long time! Yes it is like a different car. A friend who has driven a couple of std ADMs & wasn't that impressed drove mine today & was blown away. It just feels a lot stronger everywhere. The GTR had the std Cobb stg 2 tune before but Willalls new custom tune is much stronger & the power does not "drop away" like before. On the gear changes it gives a big shove in the back so I dont see how it is softer on the trans! Keir has been giving his white R35 a real hard time for thousands of kays & hundreds of laps at Mallala without any trans problems so I am quite confident to drive the pants of mine & really enjoy this car. R35 + midpipe + custom Cobb tune = Awesome Machine. Come on all you std ADMs & JDMs out there......... do it do it do it. You won't have to water your money tree much for these mods - for the dollars vs gain it is a total bargain. Any Adelaide owners that are not sure are welcome to drive mine & compare.
  16. I dont think he was ready in time to book a spot. I am sure he is very keen to get out there soon though. I cant wait to hear it down pit straight.
  17. Graeme, just like Ice Cube says........Do it Do it Do it... yeah baby put that tune into it... & dont forget the midpipe for a longer & stronger performance!
  18. Linear is the right word, although it seems to have a bigger push in the back & still keep pulling to the top. Only had a short run in traffic yesterday, but have day off today & will get up in the hills & do some "testing".
  19. Ok. Lets meet at the bottom of the South Eastern Freeway. Stock Turbs Vs Bigger Turbs (+ Carbon). Say.... early Sun morning? C U there around 7am. Should make Murray bridge by 7.25 HaHa I bloody wish........... how about a sedate cruise out to the trackday on Monday instead?
  20. I wish I could get there for this - would love to drive my 35 around there. Stuck in the middle of the country with a little stop & go track......... oh well, have fun guys
  21. That is a fantastic result. Cant wait to pick it up & try it out. That is a huge gain from just a tune. What amazing cars they are. My XR6 Turbo ute has had untold thousands spent on it with built engine etc & is making 330 rwkw so to be able to make the same power with slightly smaller engine with just tuning is bloody awesome. Looks like we wont need to worry about the bigger actuators till I upgrade the turbochargers! Will enjoy having fun with it like this for a while I think. Well done guys. Will post up my thoughts after driving the car.
  22. I dont know, but now has 331awkw. Yipee........
  23. Willall just dynoed my R35 JDM on their 4 wheel dyno & it made 278 awkw standard. Now waiting for results from new custom COBB tune with boost control. It is not unusual for cars to vary on power level depending on kays & type of dyno used.
  24. Dropped my GTR off at Willalls today for new Custom COBB tune. Cant wait for results. Have bought a pair of new forged wastegates but Martin tells me I may not need them.
  25. Before.......... After............ back in the day........
