I'd like to see how it looks with a clear coat. If it's nice and dark/glossy then I'll get you to attack my MR2's interior for me I'm thinking of doing a custom thing to go over my auto box (the bit where it says P, R, N, D, 2, 1) coz it's become faded. Would that be hard?

Is that directed at me? I said $4000 for a 300ZX conversion For parts alone it's costing me $2500ish. That includes gearbox, pedals, booster, clutch, flywheel, hydraulic piping, tailshaft, clutch master, clutch slave, etc. $1000 - $1500 is what it will probably cost me to pay a ZX specialist to do the labor. They're not cheap...

+1 on that. There aren't a whole lot of automatic Skylines around, they're predominantly manual. I'm getting a manual conversion on my 300ZX (only because I couldn't find a decent manual one anywhere) and it's setting me back around $4000. A lot of money in the scheme of things. Sell current car. Buy a manual one. Simple as that. Less wasted money. Less headaches.
