I Had a good yarn with Pete earlier tonight about possible options for the car moving forward, Positive decision was reached that we are both keen to get a result out of. I always appreciate the time both you and Peter take to talk shop with me and show me what your doing with other cars that is something most shops don't bother with. I have tracked down the receipt for that air flow meter and I am having a few words with the supplier about it's "genuine" listed title I can assure you, Some of the time the part is not necessarily a cheap purchase but a dodgy online seller that marks it as the genuine article so that the less educated (myself Included in this case) are taken advantage of. If anyone has mistaken my looking at other options as a lack of faith in your's or Peter's skills I am happy to point out that this is not the case, I have a great deal of faith in both of your skill sets and the advice that you provide is always taken on board even if sometimes my lust for power clouds my better judgement.

Nothing wrong with a second opinion Brad, Sean did my last car and I wouldn't mind putting a Nistune in to see if the Power FC is the issue before I go spending another $1200 on tuning. I get the SAU member discount down at EFI for a fit and Tune of the Nistune. How is the car a hand grenade? I have taken Peter's advise at every turn he is the only person to work on it since purchase apart from an oil change and plugs I have done, just trying to eliminate potential issues 1 at a time. If I had cash up my sleeve I would buy a Haltech but lets face it House trumps car, I am exploring options on what I can do and a Nistune that is $1k is cheaper while retaining factory R&R protection of the engine rather than retuning a potentially faulty Power FC and it playing up. To rule the AFM out I will get it retuned wither with another Z32 AFM or the stock unit. I have sent many of the local skyline owners Peter's way and have also recommended your work as well, I think that as a car owner I am entitled to look at what options are available to me based on my budget so at least I am aware of what is achievable.

Not willing to name the tuner that is a bit odd...I am looking for a new tuner guess I will just do what everyone else does and take it to EFI.

^ What he said, Minumum spend on an R33 for power is: $500 + fit - decent front mound IE: HDI $350 + fit (or do it yourself) yellow jacket coilpacks $50 manual boost controller (better off with a good quallity EBC) $250 - 300 bosch 040 or 044 fuel pump + fit (will need wiring for future mods) $100 - High flow panel filter for stock air box or decent pod ( members are split on which has more merit ask tuner) $1200 + fit BC Racing V1 coil over suspension $1000? Nistune (ask EFI for pricing) $350 - 400 Z32 ECU for nistune to retain VCT $??? brake pad's and or new rotors if the stock ones are buggered (really important) That is $3300 and change already and that is doing it on the cheap. That should see you at or close to 200rwkw's depending on the condition your engine is in and any pre existing leaks / issues.

What area in Brisbane are you?, Best bet is to meet up with a few members and have a look at what they have done and how much it has cost them. This will help with planning upgrades and making sure that you avoid the mistakes most of us have made when it comes to upgrades. I will admit that talking with the guys has helped me with a lot of issues I have had and given me some great people who have a common Interest. Fineline (Noel) is the Club Prez and is a stand up guy, Chris knows more about car electronics and Nissan's than any one man ever should, if It takes him more than 30 sec's to jack that car I'll pay to repair it he is that good.

Safe to run as in drive off boost down to the tuner yes not limiter bash it. Biggest misconception people have is the whole "plug and play" part of aftermarket ECU's - a Base map as stated above is a map loaded with values that are enough to turn the key and drive the car pre boost. I have come to learn that whenever boost is involved the ammount of parameters that need to be spot on are numerous and making a mistake with them can be catastrophic,

The top button has a boost scramble button (overboost mode) you can set it and it will over boost by whatever you have set it as for a set amount of time.

I brought a SS1PU for my 34, I am making about that power figure now mine has: 600cc injectors z32 afm full 3" exhaust hypergear ss1pu Hybrid FMIC Apexi Power FC Gizmo boost controller. tuned on 17 psi The big thing to keep in mind is that the stock head gasket can only take so much before it will crap out hence the low boost on mine, it came with the actuator set for 21 psi.
