  1. how ya going mate. check to make sure the battery terminals are tight and there is a good connection between then and the posts. have you done any work to it lately? it does sound like the battery is discharge a little. looking at the dash how it flashes as the indicators are points to a bad connection or discharged battery. hope this helps.
  2. yeah mate send us pm when you're looking to do it and i'll check if i'm available to help. just depends on work thats all. cheers mate
  3. i guess i wont be calling round to help ya then . those lights are just a marker type light. yes they require pos and neg to work. the only thing that i may suggest at this stage is to disconnect the park/headlight switch at the steering column and see if the lights go off. if the don't you know it is definetly in the harness to the rear or possible to the front. if the lights go out then u might have a switch problem. if the lights stay on with the switch disconnected then trace the harness to the rear and disconnect any plug connectors and c if the lights go. it a process of elimination unfortunalty. c how u go with that if it gets to further involved u might have to visit your local auto elect. sorry mate. let us know how ya go.

g'day mate. fat r31 man. i've got a real soft spot for them. well done.
  6. from wat u have just said if you had the power off ( lights off) then i don't think you have done any damage to harness as such. if you don't mind me asking where are u located. i'm in redcliffe near brisbane. if you live round here i could meet u and check it out for ya. i'm just running out of ideas at the moment. wat u have done could not cause the harness to melt and join a positive to that wire.
  7. g'day mate. i live in moreton downs deception bay and own a white R32 4 door and me wife has a blue R33 4 door. my currently of the road as i'm once again changing set ups. should be back on the road soon. me number plate is 116.hks. hope to see u on the road soon. cheers
  8. hey mate. i had a plan bearing precisions turbo gt37 on my stock rb20 and made boost abit earlier then u have and i made 280hp on 11psi. check to make sure the exhaust is not blocked e.g. cat's not collapsed.
  9. hey mate. if your alternator is overcharging for example 15volts and over it could be spiking the computer and the system is shutting down because of it saving the components in your power steering. charge rate for all vehicles should be no lower then 13.5v and 14.8v. some of these problems i've seem through my workshop are caused from an intermitted charging fault. the battery wont cause the problem as it is only a storage device, once the vehicle is running the alt runs the vehicle, not the battery. hope the helps.
  10. awesome looking drifter man. just read wat you've done to it over the pass years, as i'm a new member. very impressed. good luck at the next event.
  11. someone has probably left a sensor unplugged or there is a sensor playing up and it has logged a code in the ecu. u need to contact an auto elec or if u have a tuner that has a scan tool to check what code it has logged. it usually takes 3 times for the problem to log a code before the code is logged in the computer. have u notice if the car has lost power or hard to start or doesn't idle well etc. hope this helps.
  12. g'day mate. i'm an auto elect by trade and i don't think it could be a relay that has fused shut. for a relay to fuse shut you would have melted the wiring first and probably blown the fuse. if it is relayed it is negtive switch to the relay and sends a positive to the light. not the other way round. the original problem u had was just and earthing issue either on the bulb holder or in the wiring harness. the only way u can check if the harness is burnt is to remove the trim round the boot and remove the electrical tape. most melted wires only travel a short distance depending on how long the positive feed was to ground for. when u cut the wires did u notice if there was smoke signals or an electrical smell. if not u didn't melt the harness. hopefully this can help.
  13. Hey mate. Just check to make sure that you didn't bump the fog light switch on the combination swtch. On my wifes 33 4door it has a switch near the end of the combo switch. If that makes any sense.
  14. Hows it going mate. The same problem occured in r32 when i was running higher boost levels. Tracked the problem down to the wrong spark plug. I've happened to stumble across that the xr6 turbo run NGK Iridium plug with a .6 gap. Part number is BKR6EIX. Hope this sorts out your problem.
