  1. yeah snowy hans remains highly recommended and always a good idea, but its still a 2.5k spend for a decent setup so still a little steep for most and only arc was being forced to upgrade for 09 i thought.
  2. tarmac rallying should only be scary if the crew want to push harder than their event prep and talent allow... if you run your own race and don't be ambitious it’s no more dangerous than super sprinting or hillclimbing without a roll cage in my oppion.
  3. nothing happening to the rx7, but plenty on the mitsubishi side of things... the lancer will soon be ready for new paint. the skyline goes into the bodyworks for tidy up soon too.
  4. yeah will keep the second shell and reckon i'll end up building a spare recce car out of it.
  5. sorry about the crapberry pics... engine is ready to come out... anyone want lancer gsr parts! evo 3 has a little bit of surface rust around the spare wheel well but thats about it. the gsr doesn't have any which is good.
  6. huge night, stripped much of the lancer down tonight. i reckon a full day and it will be ready to head off to the soda blaster! plan is to offer it as a lease car for targa wrest point and targa tas.
  7. stop being such a jealous girlfriend ben, you know mozz is just a friend now
  8. mozz has been a cock lover since way back!
  9. Some pics of the Evo 3 after a quick wash. Its a pretty cool car (less the stupid wind deflectors and ghey mud flaps) and hopefully I can start pulling it's guts apart when I get back from spending the next week O/S... RX7 completion date might end up slipping again! PS. Yes I know this is a Skyline forum, but my 33 is pretty unexciting!
  10. can't to anything in tasmania without being seen by someone from sau or the police!
  11. i totally agree... the wing on the e3 is a bit too crazy i think and i also like the e2 from bumper a little more too, but as a total package the e3 are pretty cool. my 2.0ltr gsr will shortly appear to be an e2 with the compete bodywork package soon to go on.
  12. finally got around to picking up the evo today. took it for a quick spin and i think i wana keep it now!
  13. roy - omp. the halos look very similar to the velo apex though. dunc - of all things it was roys pondering of r33 gtrs... something switched on and i thought lets get into it again! phunky - very tight, i've got a removable hub for the wheel cause don't think anyone could get in with the wheel on, myself included. i remember trying to get into a mates 968rs turbo a few years ago that had similar cage and seat, but a fixed wheel... i ended up getting in from the passenger side!
  14. plenty happening to the rx7 with lots coming off and a little going back on... have now got the drivers seat, well the same design anyway, the red seat will go into the evo. also got the hydralic handbrake and removable wheel hub and the engine bay has been reduced to a near bare engine ready for a big refresh. not much action on the evo front, but have bought coilovers, hydralic handbrake, steering wheel and a spare bonnet and bumper.
  15. got the seat it in and man its a tight fit... only just clears the cage (so lucky), but need to massage the tunnel a little to mount it. will have to fix the window net to the door i'd say too. will mock up mounts in steel then make some from aluminium angle. ps. sorry for the crapberry pics, and getting excited and doing multipul replys! pps. sorry for the offensive seat colour too... plan is to run the same design in black in when the car is done, this red one will make its way into the evo to match the ghey mud flaps!
  16. swappsies... I could be tempted as no one runs 180s in Targa class down here and I still want my old 200 back!
  17. Took the front and much of the engine bay crap off it last week. Trying my new seat that arrived today later tonight along with further distruction... not sure how the seat will go as it has head support wings and its a tight cabin space. Like the carbon detailing in the boot (in the vents and washer bottle hole)?
  18. I think you could tell if I'd done it Steve! Was done by a local upholstery guy that does some race car trimming work including re-doing suede steering wheels. Was $100 or $150 from memory for all three pieces which I was pretty happy with as sourcing replacment plastics would have been heaps more.. my ones were all scratched from when I got the car. He also blanked over the heater controls and ashtray to keep it tidy.
  19. how flocking much would they charge for a dash? I had this done with alcantara for the RX7
  20. Brand new GT3 bare engines are 35k... or you could have it rebuilt by a Porsche specialist for over 40k in most cases!
  21. a couple of ultima's have run in targa tas before... they didn't seem to do anything all that well except sound throaty!
  22. Thats awesome, I want a WRC car to hang on the wall!
  23. This is what you need Troy, its even set up for tarmac... perfect for sprints! http://www.racecarsdirect.com/viewlisting.php?view=18480
  24. Its a complied car though so some value in it
  25. PS. His GTR went off in Strahan... on the day it looked like a soft tumble
