  1. And remember the year Matt had the navigator that had them excluded from the event cause the nav got pissed the night of Prologue, fell down the stairs at Country Club breaking a couple of ribs and blew .12 at 9am the next day!!
  2. I remember seeing two NA1 (3.0) NSX Type R's for under 35k a year ago, NA2 (3.2) are lucky to be less than 60k. Standard 3.0s with autos are high teens... so budget an extra 25k for squential box in those! RX7 has Tas special interest (rally) rego so can be used 52 times are year... or you can swap the engine 52 times in one year, which ever comes first. No sunroof and no X in the roof of the cage to encourage resale when I'm over it... but I'm inspired in it again this week so might actually do something to it! Ceramic apex seals... they are being stock piled by the pallet load If I had the dollars laying about I could think of worse things than buying that 33. I reckon keep the GTSt and by a Cossie... running that Cossie alone will keep your bank account feeling like you own a GTR anyway!
  3. you rounded me up in traffic the other day... so for those interested it certainly looks like it goes and even corners nice and flat!
  4. nice shot of bana's wreck in the back ground... all the big move star cars sit in apple sheds near devonport i hear!
  5. I can't bond with 33 GTSt... they just feel remote and large compared to other 32/33/34 in GTSt or GTR... hence why my wife has it now! What you need Troy is a silver unfinished RX7 SP knock off that I can't be bothered with anymore, so I can import an NSX to build up!
  6. the practical approach is thanks to targa tasmania as the market leader trying to be client focused. it was a different story five years ago. that anal approach shits me... nothing like the small minded car club approach to the world of motorsport! four digit numbers are application numbers, they will swap to three digit once confirmed as invited entries this month.
  7. I know it well... It was a bought as a fresh import roadie back in '97 or so... it did Targa Tasmania four times from memory and finished deep in the top ten each time. Was sold in 2001(ish) when the then owner bought himself a 911 Turbo to rally. It sat around for a while with the new owner, but was developed into a very good circuit racing car during 2002/3 with decent budget. It should have won the state championship in 2003, but suffered turbo failure at the last meeting of the year. The crash damage was repaired well (it slipped of the road at super low speed and went down a bank) so nothing to stress about, its only had the one off that I recall. Most of the work during late stages of development was by Nizpro and before that Autotek in Hobart regardless of cost... not sure if its been the same story with the current owner though. When it was sold to the current owner some parts that made it a really good thing including the front brakes were removed to reduce the purchase price. Hope that helps.
  8. Replica vehicles are required to be mechanically identical to the model they are representing aside from where the regulations lay down a tolerance for modification. There is room for movement within the tarmac rally world where the component that is wrong isn't performance enhancing and there is a plan to correct the problem if it's of significance. Eg. I used to enter my R32 V-Spec II as an N1, but didn't put the nostrils on it cause I don't like the look of them and left my rear wiper on cause I couldn't be arsed taking it off. Obviously the wiper and support systems weighed more than not having one and the intercooler isn't as efficient without the nostrils so logic says my car is at a mechanical disadvantage which is Ok if the organisers agree.

very much open to offers on the extremly economical cruiser!
  11. Well, some of us are more perceptive than others!
  12. A simple application to CAMS would see you permitted to downsize rims. I was pushing it with them last year until we swapped and all was looking good. Mt Buller will allow downsize too... they are also AASA.
  13. So has anyone noticed that 32/33/34 GTR's get a less 10% weight tollerence further to flicking the additional 43kg rule? I think Ben (sav_man) has!
  14. Unfortunately this event is extremely unlikely to get up, that area of parkland reserve is very well protected.
  15. Last chance, freighting this puppy to Hobart tomorrow! Open to crazy offers... well resonable offers!
  16. I hear ya!
  17. rx7 is in a warehouse looking very naked forward of the fire wall... thought it might have been ready for buller but no luck. i've now got a lancer that doesn't look any more prepared sitting there too! yeah excellent numbers for tpw, its gonna be huge!
  18. sounds good. its currently kept in a warehouse in derwent park if you wanted to have a look.
  19. not the first Donut King GTR to be fifth at Rally Burnie... and I didn't have to paint mine pink!!
  20. no hurry ross and happy to work in with someone. just currently pulling it apart. at this rate the rx7 will never be finished and ready for the track!
  21. I want to respray the Lancer GSR I've got from maroon to white. I'll look after in the inside and engine bay as painters never like roll cages, but need to get the exterior done. Any suggestions? Its got a couple of dents that need sorting too. Really after someone that will do a cash job.
  22. the red ones on the E3 were a genuine factory option i'm told... after all there is so much gravel on the roads of tokyo!
  23. There are a bunch of Evo 9s kicking around in the country with Ralliart TMM (Team Mits Motorsport) style stickers. Different one from Targa roll over.... that was Rod Salmon
  24. Yeah me too Dane, but ended up buying an Aussie GSR (the maroon one) and a 2.0 while the 3 was on the water and would rather strip the guts out of that snotter than a nice real 3. Got a bunch of E2 body work for the GSR and will repaint it something less ghey. Plan is to keep it in Melb to have a play and keep the FD down here. Should have those adaptors for you early next week too.
