  1. just watched the special features proof disc. pretty cool with 3 to 4 shots of each car in the field, plus a heap of incar and profiles from both classic and modern field. there is also a summary of results and the nightly tv news packages from each day. further to all that there is also a short profile on the r35 and an interview with driver tony alford, as well as full length incar of the fast harford stage. will advise a release date shortly.
  2. check out fdowners.com too, its an australian based fd rx7 forum and some good sub-sections on ownership and problems with them etc.
  3. I used my FD as a daily for a week and a bit before pulling it apart for race prep... great car with nice chassis out of the box, but loved fuel, I'm 175cm and the Japanese seat rails didn't let the seat go back far enough to be comfortable, they didn’t sit low enough for be to be comfortable either, the wheel isn’t height, reach or tilt adjustable, the door plastics are crap and rattled like hell… particularly the internal door handle area, the interior feels tight on space generally, but the hatch back design was handy... not so handy or practical now with a roll cage! As a road car I much preferred my 32 GTR and now 33 GTSt as simply more space.
  4. pm'd you mate.
  5. yeah thats the one, darren who owns it wants to use this event to ease his g/f into navigating
  6. Bring on the GTR Rod... knock off those dirty Evos!
  7. a couple of my mates are bang up for it too - evo 4 and integra type r.
  8. Yeah it presents well hey... although its keeping me from spending on the RX7 the 33 is coping some more upgrades including Splitfires, new seats and some Nismo tidy up stuff. I reckon 34 rims on your blue 33 would look pretty awesome.

  11. Anyone thinking of having a crack at this event? My RX7 might be be finished around the time, but keen on running the GTSt just for fun. Pretty good value at $645 and all run out of Launceston for three days with hillclimbs, circuit sprints, autotests and navigation trials all part of the game. No roll cages required, just normal club day/hillclimb stuff like CAMS L2S licence and couple fo 1kg fire extinguishers. SAU team perhaps?
  12. ...it might have even worked once or twice!
  13. you need garage in floor heating!
  14. $30... too easy! I've never done it before, but keen to have a crack and totally over paying for every part to be professionally done.
  15. bell housing came up well. if you put sand in a spray gun pot and fired up the commpressor, would this produce a similar result to a sandblaster?
  16. sound doesn't matter... use those lockable aero latches for the bonnet and 'loose' the key if asked to open it up, after a minute of pretend searching for the key employ the ol' silent mobile phone ringing approach and pretend to take a call then walk away from the car on the phone (must be a casual stroll else they wise up to the game), remember not to return to the car until the scrutineers leave!
  17. matt black paint can make any part legal!
  18. Marlin - Nice, I got him a turbo for it, dirty ol' ceramic job! Ant97GTR - I recall 3-4 and 4-5, not huge revs though. Looks very cool now, the old Volks needed to be painted a darker color I always thought.
  19. Ant97GTR - A very nice car that 33, well cared for... the previous owner still has the 34, last he told me it had just clicked over 15,xxxks since new! 33 had a gearbox syncro issue when I drove it. i think sortly after it sold it copped a engine rebuild? Marlin - Well done mate. That the one Jim put together?
  20. dvd version will certainly be longer and will have the the extras like footage of everycar on from the crane cam.
  21. Hi I need a pair of R33 GTSt, S14 or S15 rear shocks with some lift left in them. Trying to sort an issue with mine and just need a pair that are still Ok. Thanks Stuart
  22. yeah thats the issue, mine was part of the black 32/33/34 story. was a bit of a last minute thing and my car was meant to be at the bodyworks to fix a flaking front bumper as well as the new N1's that needed to be fitted... we just used school book covering contact to hide the missing paint! the 33 and 34 in the article were both owned by a mate of mine and he wasn't even in the country at the time!
  23. my gtr was in the last issue too (before it was caged etc)... clearly they saved the best till last! the photoshoot was such a pain though, the turbos were rooted on my car at the time and it wasn't boosting... i gave it to a mate to drive and i drove my mates 33 in the article.
  24. You have PM mate. That 34 sold yet?
