  1. SPEED was a great publication - was let down by GTR's wearing Falcon paint though!
  2. haha, not very clean after driving behind those trucks thismorning!
  3. i see another R33 S2 on the Booker Hwy some mornings... Az_StrYdeR maybe?
  4. yeah the front end has lost its firm edges on that one.
  5. my '97 GTS25t S2
  6. Swapped over the plates and sorting through some minor issues with the 33... worn rear steer tie rod ends, stuffed rear shocks etc.
  7. the perfect time attack aero kit - ok so we got bored and thought it might look cool... finished it at 2am the morning before a race meet and took all of one race before it was removed by the front of another car under brakes!
  8. But what were you gonna do with it Ben? As a circuit car I'd get the GTSt everytime as its heaps cheaper make faster thanks to light weight so long as 4WD cars arn't caining your poor 2WD starts... as as a rally car I'd run with the GTR cause of the max grip and 2 second gain on every start, but remember 1989/90 models are eligable for Classic therefore GTSt would be an awesome thing against the old shitters. Bottom line, I rate GTSt's highly... please remind me why I'm building this farking RX7!
  9. From personal experience at Baskerville in Hobart about three years ago 175kW, 1220kg GTSt with similar suspension and tyres was a second a lap quicker than a 260kW 1520kg GTR... the GTR felt very heavy were the GTSt felt nimble. In a 1.1km hillclimb the GTR was 5 seconds faster with two tight hairpins. In a tarmac rally the GTR could produce times comparable to the Targa Tasmania top ten in other events, on estimation the GTSt would have struggled to run inside the top 20.
  10. Marlin - Not sure of actual date yet, but would say mid/end-July. phunky - your right repeted shots is frustrating, but time is always a problem as the production crew were stretched.
  11. While we're on DC2's A good mate of mine and I did Rallye Burnie in this little bad boy last year... I think he is keen for a bit of circuit racing next. It was an expensive Type R build with Chomoly cage, Motec, Proflex, dry brake refuel and much more... I'd not spent much time in a Honda since my old CRX many years ago and I'd forgotten how well they go around corners... I'd also forgotten how slow they go in comparsion to turbo cars!
  12. pretty cool hey... sctv production did an awesome job with the fades etc. did it run with the interview from weeksie about the lambos hitting each other or did it get cut in time? savman - i'll post up the tassie date, shouldn't be far.
  13. see, they put Stace's name on the door to work which side of the car it goes back on after the roll over!!
  14. the doors usually leave the car on the second time over if your have a real crack anyway!
  15. I hear you, but we'll if we were really serious about our doors turning against us surely a panel of aluminium honeycomb laminated with kevlar/cf would be the answer instead of shag pile!!
  16. Nizpro 200SXR door trims would have to be the coolest ever made... I'd hate to think how much time went into them as they are flawless.
  17. Yeah same Ben, but scrutineers applying rules that they believe should be in place, but aren’t documented really shit me. To make mine doors look neat and tidy I'm doing similar to this, but in carbon....
  18. wouldn't surprise me, what was the basis of the claim or charge? what are they trying to achieve... I mean its not going to stop anything coming through the door and if they are genuinely concerned about your arms why isn't a window net not a requirement!
  19. Yeah I'd heard of them changing hands for 75k previously. John and Jason White considered building a S6 RX7 for Targa years ago instead of the $300,000ZX had used to have prior to the Evo, but neither of them could really get in it due to height... Jason did the cage in mine. Serious rebuild in that link.
  20. an overzealous scrutineer might take issue, but there would be no regulatory basis to their concern… particularly if you have a cage with side intrusion bars
  21. would depend purely on the specific category regulations... i can't find a general rule in the manual. i'm swiss cheesing the doors on the rx7, but covering with some c/f sheet cause i reckon it looks a bit ugly and unfinished.
  22. $55k for the one I found which I though was good buying as it was such a well presented car. Interestingly, at the time I noticed M3R's were moving at about that price too as I was considering building one of those instead, but with a 3.4. Alan Horsley reckons less than 15 real SP's are still about and most of the cars he hes for vertification pre-sale are usually just well done knock offs. I reckon a real SP, like ADM R32 GT-R would be a genuine investment. Primarily this car will be used for state series circuit racing in Tasmania (Targa class). I'm keeping it twin turbo so it could be used for tarmac rally, but not that fussed as wouldn't be very competitive. I intend sending it to Sydney to do some events for fun too and try out tracks I've not been to.
  23. Hey Dane I found a real one that was for sale, but too nice to cut up... plus I thought I'd try harder in an insignificant replica! Some recent pics... including a Raynard diffuser!
  24. I remember Stewart's car, was the first Evo 6 I'd seen back then and was immaculate just before the Saturday morning Super Special Stage... we'd just arrived at the spectator point and fark she was on!
  25. As the title suggests, I'm after a standard recirculating BOV for an R33 GTS25t. If you have one and want to sell it please PM me.
