  1. Indeed, helped reset the stupid alarm on a WRX over the phone the other day!
  2. Tony is sure to be quick again this year. This one is faster point to point than the S202... but needs to be considering the field has sped up again since then.
  3. As is in R32 GTR Sumitomo or Brembo calipers?
  4. The biggest fault with my GTR on that course was gearing. Much like in a tarmac rally it really needed a 1st and half and 2nd and a half gear. The tight box in an WRX or Evo would help out of both hairpins, but I'm sure the odd helping of driving tallent helps too eh Tim!
  5. Yeah, thanks to Leigh Finnlayson's young son for his Darrel Eastlake style commentry!
  6. some video I took http://video.google.com.au/videoplay?docid...701719903858416
  7. Good luck guys. I'm dissapointed not to be there this year, but will head up for a look see and a chat!
  8. the move to the new box would allow more pony's to be released as he went thru a number of RB25 boxes previously. i think most reliability issues are have been worked through now. awesome car. i remeber when he ran the thing at targa as basically a standard road car with a bolt in cage when new... how times change!
  9. Further to GMB the EBC yellows are too high in the heat range and you've got nothing for the first corner... add ducting and you've got nothing for two corners! EBC red are too low and you'll melt them... have seen it!
  10. If you'd your willing to spend the dollars - Pagid RS42 (blue) is what you want (Competition Friction/V-Sport). Very very progressive feel, not hard on rotors, come on straight away even with serious ducting and perfect heat range for tarmac, particually considering you guys won't see the super long targa stages. I used to circuit race the GTSt on Hawk Blacks, they were good but far too bitey for the road even if your running ABS. I've used the Pagids on my 200SX, GTST and GTR and they are simply awesome.
  11. Sent the car to Tassie! The process was reviewed in here a few months back to tighen things up, but for genuine cases its still easy.
  12. Running within the top 20 at Rally Tas is a great effort and good on you for getting out there, a point of difference like running a ute or a wild color is always the best way to draw a sponsor. I heard you guys had some pretty wild looking angles out of corners on stages! How did the tyres hold up? I can see John's point of view, however minor the contact might have been he now has a damaged car and as Tasmanian circuit racing is hardly about sheep stations any damage is a pain in the arse and its not hard to run very close and not contact, but has to be something allowed for obviously.
  13. All run and done and I'm still kicking - thanks again guys. The fleet of WRX wedding cars probaly wasn't in the best Nissan taste!
  14. i'm keen on the idea of converting the 3 series to rb20/25. great chassis and shape but even in 328 or M3 form bmw didn't give them enough power to push the chassis... and who wouldn't want a medium size turbo charged rear wheel drive that wouldn't get a second look!
  15. I was a little suprised at the RIP myself! Thanks a lot guys, but having lived together, bought a house, joint everything already I doubt much else can change!
  16. The car could look better, but what about the sound... its just not cricket.
  17. That car was at Pro Automotive a few months back and plenty has been done to it. Those photos don't flatter it, as its even lower and angrier up close - very hot.
  18. The A048R, much the like the A032R is great tyre in the pits... wouldn't bother using it on the track though! Of the bunch the RE55 is the best value, in my local market anyway.
  19. I used to run my tarmac rally set up on the track - 17x8 (V-Spec II BBS) with 235/40/17. These were fine for road events, but too small on the track. Most of the local GT-Rs in the Tassie circuit series run either 17x9 (standard or Volks) with 255/40/17 or 18x10 (Nismo or Simmons) with 265/35/18. I use RE55s, but 02Gs offer similar performance also, but a touch more wear (testing has shown). The Kumho Ecsta V70A is proving itself a very good performer in road events on GT-Rs and worth considering for the track and around Dunlop prices.
  20. guesty - i just need to get another nissan then problem fixed!
  21. Mark Perry has an R32 GTSt ECU and Unichip that he doesn't use any more (swapped to PFC). Email him and ask how much if you want - [email protected]
  22. needs to be held in hobart... rotaries aren't that reliable I'm told!!
  23. The 997 problem was identified at Targa West, so far Jim is the only one to fix. The problem isnt with PSM, but high rate springs binding in the standard strut.
  24. I'm flying back from Sydney specifically for the event! I'll be there to talk to people about Targa, but also supporting Dave Ayers' R33 GTR and Ric Shaw's (Michael Purtell owned) RX7 SP.
  25. They were pro painted with a satin type finish. Pic doesn't do them justice, will take another. Depending on where your based they could be expensive to freight.
