  1. did this happen?
  2. If you look at the sump design you will see that the threat of starvation is only too real in even hard road driving. I personally wouldn't do more than a few soft laps in an un-baffled GTR - a $10k engine rebuild is too stiffer pill for me to swollow! Maybe just factor it in the next time you change the clutch, thats what I did. My sponsor BMS only charge $380 for the flash Tomei sump baffle.
  3. With any GTR being used where hi G forces are in place one of my first steps would be to install a trap door style sump baffle... it will prevent engine failure via oil stavation in an RB26 and are cheap insurance, but a pain to fit.
  4. PS - If you want a comparison, my V-Spec II is for sale. Although being in excellent condition when it was imported I still managed to spend A LOT more than first contemplated on it. Unless you do it right the first time, you never stop spending with a GT-R. http://www.my105.com/42171
  5. I own a V-Spec II and honestly, as a road car, apart from the brakes you would be splitting hairs to work out which is better. As a race car its a different story depending on category and restrictive regulations. Therefore many replica's V-Spec N1's running Targa ect. If you want a car that few other people have then the V-Spec models are good to have, plus 32s have the race hisotry - as said below, they usually move for around $35k.
  6. Yes they will fit.
  7. Mine were really tight the first time I took them off. Yep the 17s were the painful ones. The only fix was a the ol' long pipe if you squeeze your arse the right way they will crack undone, but best done on a hoist to get the right angle for leverage. The bolt won't strip if you have good tools.
  8. Item: Genuine 1994 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Location: Hobart Tasmania Item Condition: Excellent and race/rally ready, upgraded to N1 spec Reason for Selling: Upgrading to R33 GT-R Price and Payment Conditions: $42,000 Extra Info & Contact: http://www.my105.com/42171
  9. With track work and real tarmac rallys we have found the OEM rubber ones to fail. Now use silcone replacments.
  10. There is a race meeting at Symmons Plains (1.5hr drive) on sunday with a bunch of gtr/gtst/evos/sti/rx7s running.
  11. haha - i had just sold my mr2, a well set up one could be a good thing.
  12. finally got a real car todd?! stuart
  13. OK thanks mate.
  14. Anyone know where I can buy single hose from? GCG only do the kits. I'm after the top RHS one.
  15. Don't replace it with a rubber one though cause its only gonna split again. I got a silcone one.
  16. The R33 GTR master cylinder is the same as used on the Nissan Patrol.
  17. I have a spare 32 GTR one.
  18. What colour is the GTR?
  19. I know Fulcrum has gone to a lot of trouble making TEIN's suit the local market with excellent results.
  20. Wouldn't it be nice to see the Fed Government put funding into developing systems to ensure old crap heaps are removed from the road than checking to see that fundamentally 'new' cars fitted with a particular brand of brake pad, rotor and tyre!

    Pulp 98

Consumption will improve with a swap to 98, but the performance will remain the same until tuned specificly for 98.... as JaFF said. 98 is a better base product though as its designed to be 98 when blended. 95 can be anywhere within 2 points -/+ I understand.
  22. My old Brembos went on a mates GTSt and its wasn't too much of an issue to put them on, we did need to cross over the Brembo bolts as the GTSt ones were too short... would be a similar issue with normal R32 GTR calipers. GTR Brembos sound a lot easier to put on than 350Z ones. If you want to make them fit under OEM 16s, you'll need to remove a good 3-4mm to ensure enough clearence and if you keep it to the centre ridge you wont strike a leak. All that said, the Brembos and 324mm rotors are a really good brake for the lighter GTSt, but pathetic for the heavy GTR as the 324 rotors are just too small and will warp if really used.
  23. Unless your getting a really good deal just do the front and put something like a CSC kit on it. Very cost effective upgrade and if the car doesn't do that much track work the rear isn't that much of an issue anyway.
  24. Nissan ABS is terrible anyway so no real loss if it doesn't!
