  1. I'm from Tas and run in Targa Class, but was unsure if IP was the same 'Improved Historic' over there as it is here!
  2. Sydneykid - Do you guys have any other imported cars, even GTSts running?
  3. Hey Sydneykid - I gather you run in Improved Production. Do you have to run a resctrictor? How big is it? Does the rescrtictor kill the potential of the car? ...and how competitive is the GTR in the field?
  4. its all relivtive though isn't it... you see a spare 32 for your 32 as nothing really outta the ord and pretty handy if something breaks, same for them!... it's only the scale that changes. for me... if I stuff mine into a wall it will be parked for a year or two!
  5. Yep the black DK GTR is mine. It's set up for tarmac rally so still streetable and registered, but damn uncomfortable to drive anywhere for much distance. Next outting for will be the CMI Domain Hillclimb on 18 September.... hopefully with AP's on the front!
  6. it was at pro automotive getting a flash looking os giken clutch while mine was there a few months ago.
  7. The spare car was the reconnaissance car.... and every now and then got raided! You'd be surprised at the amount of teams that do it.
  8. Whats the tuning company on page 35 of the r32 GTR guide called? Rin something?
  9. ...you'll only get rid of the 200SX in a couple of years to get the GTR you always wanted, so why not short cut it and go straight to the GTR!
  10. My R32 GTR has 250kws and has better fuel economy than my old 180kw 200SX and my g/f's std n/a 300ZX.
  11. Thanks mate. The VVT isn't really a concern. Had planned on swapping over the manifold and sensors anyway so that should be OK with the AP PFC then. The injectors, is their anyway to made GTR injectors work? These are top feed hi imp right?
  12. We've got an R32 GTSt that had a an RB20DET in it, that has now been swapped over to an R33 RB25DET, but the RB20 wiring harness still remains. We wana put a Power FC on it, but to do this, should we get an R32 RB20DET AP Engineering PFC, or swap the harness over and just get a normal R33 RB25DET PFC? Any got any experience on this one?
  13. Shane at Frank Madden did my cars - 03 9338 6667 $250 I think it was, so easy.
  14. On the R32 V-Spec and V-Spec II you get R33 type Brembos, R33 ATESSA software, 17x8 BBS rims and a few other minor things. Don't count on finding one easy though, bugger all have come into Australia and demand keeps prices high. I doubt I'll ever sell my V-Spec II. Check the gearbox, the syncros between 3th and 4th are usually knacker. Check to see if the genuine GTR alloy bonnet is still on it instead of a GTSt bonnet with a GTR lip. Launch it hard with an eye on the torque split guage to see if the 4WD is still working and run it on boost to see if power delivery is smooth.... if not one of the ceramic wheels might be missing some fins or dead. ABS was standard on all I thought... but the system is pretty old now and isn't that good.
  15. No neons, air brushing or aussie V8 taxi vs aussie V8 taxi stories... it was just good blokes writting cool yarns.
  16. shame, hopefully it can become a special bi-annual or similar.
  17. My 32 is the V-Spec II on page 44/45/46
  18. I'm guessing they are the same and S13 being 4 stud.

    Pulp 98

I've got a spare drum of BP 98RON in Launceston that we didn't take to Rallye Burnie if anyone wants one.
  20. I have a set of front GT-R Brembos (black) that were rebuilt less than a month ago, two near new DBA 5000 rotors (bought just weeks ago) with alloy hats (black) and SBS Track Pro pads for sale.... $2000.

    Rallye Burnie

In responce to 26motorsports's claims..... Its true, I mean how could the an R32 GTSt 1200kg/199kws beat a Holden Torana with a 6 litre engine producing 350kw (at the wheels), but of course it did, repeatedly, particularly the longer 15 lap races, three out of four from memory... Perhaps not in outright speed, but by the rules of the game! Contrary to what Mark says, I did in fact win the TDRC Octagon Series - Targa Tasmania Group B, ask Jim Richards…. he was at the dinner and presented me with the trophy from memory!!.... big golen cup, perhaps 26motorsport is talking about the glass trophies?! (have got a couple of those from the rounds too!!) The car had 199kws when I had, and that was just with some new spark plugs!…. It even had that when I gave it back…who knows that you have done to it since then, oh that’s right, you striped a heap more weight out of the car, that’s probably why its going faster!! To settle this once and for all I think we need the Benno v Perrywinkle Battle!! Ps. I went around Basky with a .59 in a GT3….. sorry, did I have to be driving it?!! Pps. Where were Whitey, Laws, PJ, Keytesie and Greg in the points score when you won Boss of Baskerville again?.... sorry, but did they even enter?

    Rallye Burnie

We were seeded 18th for Leg One, on the first stage we ran the 8th quickest time, then that again on the next. Without actually knowing where we sat I pushed on and we got a bit quicker with consistently running the 5th quickest times. I was surprised by this at lunch and would have been happy to maintain the pace, which we did for the rest of the afternoon until a Left 2 that went from dry to damp to wet bought me undone. I couldn't grab the rear in time and we went around, but the time we stopped I had washed off most of the speed and just touched the dirt bank at no more than 5-6k's. That was enough to bust the headlight on the right side and push the bumper back enough to pull the intercooler hose off and strip the thread on the hose clamp. We went back continued on to service (at the end of the stage) but found the only way to fix it was to pull the bumper off. By the time we had fixed the clamp and re-installed the bumper we were out of service and late time so withdrew from the day and transported back to Burnie. We restarted the next day seeded 9th but with knackered brakes so used the day as practice. Not sure how our times looked for that day, but they would have been well of, we were loosing at least 1-1.5sec a corner, but it was fun. Have now organised some bigger front brakes and better intercooler hose clamps so can't wait for Rally Tasmania in Feb. I'll run it in the Minna Rd and Domain Hillclimbs between there and now and maybe a round of the Octagon Series.
