Have you tried turning the knob on the right side of the boost controller and if so what percentage does it read as this is needed to be turned down also to reduce the boost. Also if it is the standard computer and turbo the max you would want to run is 10psi mainly because you are likely to hit boost cut if you try running anything higher.
Also have you been able to change the settings so it reads PSI? if so what does it say your running on hard acceleration?
Yeh i would say get yourself a Front mount its prolly running quite rich once you start winding the boost up the computer just dumps more fuel to keep things safe. Doing just that made over 25hp difference on my 33 and i was able to run a little bit more boost it ended up running 178kw at the rear wheels on 10psi.
I have a 34 now running 8.5psi with a FMIC full exhaust Apexi pod filter flowed turbo and the same Greddy boost controller at the moment its running 173kw at the rear wheels but should be able to get much more just tunning the boost controller once i work out how to set it right.
Out of interest what settings did he put on your boost controller to get the max boost your running?
Yeh that does suck dude nothing worse than buying stuff that isnt going to be any good lets hope this will fix the problem but id say more than likely it will.
That will more than likely be the problem i forgot about that when mentioning stuff before you are better of buying the cheaper ones they usually give you a better spark anyway but as already been said they def wont last as long i used to get around 15000kms in my 33 before they needed replacing.
Cant really think of anything else that you can do sorry, be interesting to see what they come up with i def want to know what settings they put your boost controller on im thinking of taking mine somewhere to get checked.
Not 100% sure about if it would effect it but it may of because the computer does self learn a little bit i believe so it gets used to the higher boost resetting it might of confused the computer but i doubt that would be the problem.
So do you know the settings you have on you Greddy boost controller ive only just got mine and am trying to set it to 10psi?
No this should have no effect under acceleration boost is controlled by the wastegate which is controlled by the boost controller. you could also check you dont have a leak in one of the intercooler pipe joins or in the boost controller pipeing.
That does sound like boost cut you sure by disconecting the battery you havnt reset the boost controller i have the same controller in my 34 just out of curiosity what percentage of boost do you have set on the controller and what is the set/gain level?
It could also be the coils breaking down i had the same problem in my R33 GTST after i serviced it and put new plugs etc and tried turning the boost up to 10psi. it sounds almost the like the car is pinging badly when it does it.
I used to run around 9.6psi once the coils where replaced in my 33 and it was fine much more than that and it would hit boost cut.
Try turning down the boost to see if the problem goes away.
