    post-64617-1262045132_thumb.jpg

Those are the X4 and X5 cats, apparently an X3 is also passable but no photo of it.

Sorry for the horrid scans but the photos i was given are not the best quality.

Im still looking for one of these to get my car passed, PM if you have one!!

This a photo of the X3 I got in my car post-54030-1262058534_thumb.jpgpost-54030-1262058573_thumb.jpg

sorry for the bad pics but the car is very low.

  2. Hi Aruna,

I live in Castle Hill and I have an R33 S1 GTS-T. My cat seems to have some internal damage (rattling- maybe collapsed core). I'm planning to replace it but your experience has me worried. I'm happy to keep my car stock. Where do you think I should get a replacement from?

PS. Can't believe what they put you through. I would be furious too but I doubt they'll reimburse you without a fight. Good luck mate.

    Khaled,

You can give me a call 0414933343 I have 2 Magnaflow 91006 which is the ADR approved cat for the R32 33. We can organise something.

  3. TICKLE ME PINK !! why rebox a cat for aus market?

since you have the cat why not share a pic with the part number stamped on it too :(

seriously dude just move on, i don't know why i bothered to reopn the thread, and i WONT again.

I really didn't want to reply but you are questioning my integrity, Like I said two 91006 and a close up with the number stamped. You are harder to convince than the EPA tester.

  4. The magnaflow 91006 doesn't have a exhaust sniffer in the back of the cat, all s13's 14's 15's, 32's 33's 34's have a cat with a probe in the arse end from factory.

The Magnaflow 91006 has an exhaust sniffer, it is ADR Approved and is the cat fitted to Skylines when compliance is done. I passed the EPA test today, I had to go to a place that does compliance and get a cat that they remove when the car is imported. This cat is not approved to be used in Australia. It has got Nissan and X3 marked on the body.

If anybody has to do the DECC test remember you need to change the cat to a Nissan one. The guy in Granville who does the test is an idiot, try not to go to him. My car was perfectly legal, the sound level was less than 90 db and had the correct ADR approved cat and he failed it. I was severely inconvenienced due to his ignorance (spent more than $500 on cats and 5 days off work). I will write to the EPA and ask them to compensate me for my time and money. The guy where I bought the Nissan cat (he does a lot of compliance work) said he is going to support my letter because what they have done is wrong.

  5. Yeah you won't believe this but I currently have a Stock Standard ADR approved compliance Catalytic converter on my R33 and when i went for the DECC inspection (i got defected for noise levels a while ago and sent to the decc) , the guy at the DECC inspection has defected me for the cat because i dont have the compliance papers. 2nd hand owner here...

So I've been defected again for a compliance CAT!

I need some help from the good natured people on this forum, because the only one i can find the guy wants 850$ for. And i only need it for a day! Im not paying that for a cat most people throw away.

Anyway the part im looking for to get past this DECC test is as far as i know the Stock CAT for an R33 Series 2, or it also comes off a Nissan Maxima 1998 - 2001 models

The cat will have X3 or X5 stamped on the bottom of them. I can post up some pics tomorrow.

Does anyone have one for Sale, or will to let me borrow/rent for a few days, else my car gets de-registered....

Even if someone has the full exhaust system i will take that.

Call me on 0401016609, names Simon

    Thanks

    Simon,

Where are you located? I have the same problem, check my thread under NSW. I am getting an original cat tomorrow. You can have it after I pass the test. I know what pain you are going through.

  6. Ur a good guy.

    Polizia/EPA R gettin picky - too picky

    Hi Guys,

Getting picky? They are idiots! I got the standard cat from Security installed. The guy in Granville who does the EPA check, rejected it again (cost me $60.00 each time). I asked him what he wants, and he goes I need the original cat from Nissan not anything else. I told him Nissan Australia has no stock of R33 Cats, he says it's not his problem; I need to find an original cat or pass the emissions test. I called around a few places that do compliance and found a place in homebush that has got an original cat. Will get that fitted and see what he says (another sixty bucks for him). I have to get it passed by the 24th. If I drive the car without passing after that, the fine is $11000.00. There is no R33 in NSW with the original Cat, because they have to change it for compliance. Warning guys don’t get caught with a Smokey or noisy car, or the idiots are going to get you.

  7. ive got a spare standard cat in my garage, as long as your exhaust is a direct swap jobbie it will bolt straight on. im in bankstown. pm me if you're interested.

Sorry mate, I cannot PM yet as my post count is less than 10. My mobile No is 0414933343 please txt me yr details and I will buy it off you.

    Thanks

  8. Hi

I need to buy a Standard Cat Converter to pass the EPA test. My vehicle has been defected by the EPA for having a non standard cat converter. I am located in Sydney and can pickup, or will pay for postage.

    Thanks,

    Aruna

  9. Hi Guys,

I need some help please; I have a '96 R33 GTST. I was stopped by the cops and they checked the vehicle inside out to find some defect. But since I have everything stock, they could not find anything. They have then reported to the EPA that the vehicle is too noisy. I got a letter from EPA to get the car checked for noise level. When they checked it, the noise level was within spec, but they failed it saying it has a non standard Cat converter. I then took it to an exhaust place and they replaced the cat converter with a Magnaflow 91006 and said that it should be fine for the test. I paid $ 350.00 for this. When I took the car back for testing they said it's still not the standard cat converter and I need to do an emissions test at RTA. I did this test but the NOX value is slightly higher than what they want. I have two options now, Get a standard cat converter fitted (I don't know where to get one). Get the car tuned to pass the emissions test, this is going to cost me $1000.00. Would appreciate any help you guys could offer.

    Thanks
