  1. Not fair sob! Mines just getting loaded at Nagoya port in Japan today.
  2. Maybe I'm glad I got the GTT instead?
  3. Druzilla32... were u driving southbound along Maundrell Terrace Aspley at around 7:40am this morning? Cos if you were it looked and sounded really nice. Made my turbo withdrawal worse Free bump anyway.
  4. Yay! my car is somewhere in that orange flashing dot... MV Kiwi Breeze. http://www.kiwicar.com/Vessel%20position.htm
  5. I guess that makes a skyline a futon?
  6. What brand and model turbo?
  7. ah boy another can of worms. All I can compare is the difference I had in the 33GTST with say my father in laws 2002 SS. With the Skyline there is a feeling of being integrated with the car. The SS on the other hand kind of feels like a powerful sled or something the way it travels around bends and such feels like its sliding all the time. Heh if i go for a drive now in a newish com or falc i start feeling sick due to the way those cars handle inertia etc - too used to sporty suspension. Guess I was just wondering if XR6t was similar in those respects. PS I use Firefox and it crashed for the first time yesterday. Reinstall did the jobbie.
  8. and probably at a premium I'm guessing being pretty rare?
  9. Would these fit R34GTT? Offer still on?
  10. I spose in the back of my mind I was comparing the Auto R34GTT to the Auto XR6 Turbo. GTR isn't an option as I need 4 doors. I have read some track tests giving it to the GTT and others giving it to the XR6t. I'd assume that the XR6t's tiptronic is possibly better and faster than the older GTT's. On paper the power to weight ratio between the 2 (stock) is negligible. Although it blows me away that you can just reprogram the Fords's chip and get approx 300rwkw. I get the feeling that the GTT would have it on the corners but the XR6t would have it on the straight. Overall I think they would perform similar and that driver skill would be the determining factor provided both vehicles hold it together. I've heard good things about GTT's in the handling dept, the twisty stuff puts a on my dial.
  11. Answers: RWKW? Enough to have a bit of fun on occasional track days. 90% street use Boost @ 2500 rpm on but not dying above 6k Early or late in range.. best average power from 2500 up Stock standard R34GTT auto. Thats why I said later on cos I'll need time to put on Full zorst, FMIC, EBC, Fuel pump etc. Internally gated sounds fine for what I want. I expect <=250rwkw to be plenty for me. Main issues for me are reliability and streetability/response.
  12. I might be interested later this year, if this offer still exists then. Haven't done any research into turbos though yet. I'd be looking at something good for a R34 GTT Auto. Something thats a good streetable turbo IE don't have to wait till 5000rpm till it makes good boost. Maybe even hiflo stock GTT turbo, not sure how this responds compared to stock 32/33 turbos but they are larger apparently.
  13. I've been puttering around http://www.fordxr6turbo.com keeping a low profile being a skyliner but questions are coming to mind. I know these things can be made to go fast in a straight line with min mods. But, my question is what are they like around corners and on a track in the real world? I mean stock do they handle, corner, etc like a family barge. I guess any car can be made to handle well with enough wise $ spent but am wondering how much u need to spend on one of these to make it competitive for say weekend track use? Or do they handle reasonably well in stock form?
  14. Hi Mate, Only just got the email about replies to this thread... I'm @ Chermside West and the GTT should be put on the ship sometime this week. Aiming to have it on the road in April. Looks like theres a few GTT's in Brisbane now. Hope we don't become as common as the 33's. Bob Jones thats why I only said that I have *heard* good things about Bliss and Drift King, guess I might avoid them now all the same and stick with Beddhams. Anyway, the only personal experience has been with Beedhams and it was a good one. About inductions sounds... I only had a K&N panel filter in stock box and also used to get a good induction sound in the GTST although my GTR had pods and it was definately more noticeable. Managed to get some good tyres for compliance this time too, learnt from last time when they put Falken ZE326's on - a loathsome tyre esp in wet. Got some Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's for $225 a corner. Looking foward to seeing how the GTT corners, apparently better than the GTST's. Go the sedan action!
  15. Hoping to get my GTT on the road late April.... ah the import wait.... I remember getting quoted approx $2k for a full CES zorst, apparently excellent...24kw I ended up getting http://www.jackbeedham.com.au/ to put on a full custom system with twin dumps for $1k. Made the RB25DET sound great and spool lot faster. Others that I've heard good things about for zorsts are Rob Bliss @ Geebung and Drift King @ Aspley.
  16. Rather buy a car with a geniune 100k than another import windback at 30,000 with more like 130,000. Don't trust import odo's go off other stuff like wear etc. 98 GTT with <30k would in reality be few and far between methinks. So many R32's seem to have <70k. Eg 89 with 79k = 4,375 km per year. Average Jap KM are actually 10,000.
  17. "Your R34 Skyline is confirmed aboard the Kiwi Breeze Voy8, due to arrive in Brisbane on 21st March". Yay! quote from my broker. Heres hoping no dodgy wharfies hurt the car or the ship sinks etc etc. Importing is a gamble. Nervous times ahead. Better make sure compliance shop has started on import approval. God knows theres enough delays between shipping companies, customs, wharfies, compliance shops without me making it worse. Clearance took 2 weeks on the last import. Agent seemed a bit disorganised. Then compliance another 2 weeks on top. Thinking of getting hoist inspection done pre compliance just in case. Just have to figure out how to get car from wharves to mechanic.
  18. Good to here about the cars longevity Dan might be keeping mine as a family car for a few years. Hoping those front doors will be more practical in car parks etc those coupe doors can be a bitch. Pity they didnt make the rear seat fold down since they moved the battery back under the bonnet.
  19. Hey Bass, is yours tiptronic? If so what have you done to get the NEO to 200rwkw? Oh does the exhaust button make much of a difference to power?
  20. lol my post disappeared. I bought this with hopefully 80,000 *genuine* kms. http://users.bigpond.net.au/skylinenut/index.htm

  22. Stock GTT Just Cars comprehensive $955 (with 2+ point immobiliser fitted) Rating 1, 30 yrs old. Famous quoted $1000 After that Suncorp jumped to $1800.
  23. Ok so 235/45/17's on all 4. 4.6mm larger sidewalls won't be much of an issue will it? This is assuming the compliance place will let me put on non-standard tyre sizes. Otherwise itll be the stock 225/45/17 all round. Thinking about Hankook K104's, had Falken ZE326 last time - hopeless in wet.
  24. Looking for best combo on stock wheels on GTT. Eg. 235/45ZR17 fronts 255/45ZR17 rears Just wondering if I will have any issues with these tyres not fitting. Everything is stock ride height, suspension etc.
