  3. That DIY on R34.nett is useful but I am wondering how it applies to an auto R34. Satanic or anybody else with an R34 auto. Does the Shifter surround come off similar to the manual? Could someone explain this bit to me please. I am paranoid about hurting my console.

  5. Yea, I'd like to see a sedan in the flesh and take for a spin of course. NA power, still think I'd miss the boost but I guess that can be taken care of if you've got the money. It's not like you'd be worried about voiding the warranty.
  6. Yep, V35's are hot I still wanna see one in the flesh, sedan included. Can u give us a ballpark compliance cost please? Oh and more photos when possible
  7. Might get BATMBLs split + cat and Jack Beedhams's cat back. Have u got a resonator on your's Col? or maybe middle muffler? Also what kind of end muffler - not a cannon? I could live with 89DB i reakon.
  8. what model Blitz? just catback?
  9. 3 RAWS are listed for V35 compliance http://raws.dotars.gov.au/rawswebpublic/RAWPubSearch.asp give them a call and ask about plates.

  11. ecv = exhaust control valve?, is this like the stock control valve that some GTT's have? IE you can operate this is cabin to increase restriction or reduce noise? Autobarn says $729 for Blitz Nur Spec S problem is these are apparently 96-105DB (has a removable baffle) while CES claim 86DB. Not sure what legal is?
  12. Well, I'm not too far away from getting my exhaust system sorted. I have decided on BATMBL's twin dumps, + large Catco cat @ $720. Just not sure on the cat back, I am thinking of getting a custom job done by Jack Beedhams but am worried about noise. I am thinking of removing the middle muffler, getting new 3inch mild steel maundrel bent pipe work, no resonator and keeping the stock rear muffler. But I guess that won't be large enough, ie the stock inlet would not be 3 inches = restrictive... Does anymody know the brand that CES Racing uses? I know it's a SS twin tip muffler but can't seem to google it with much success. Also will this be legal noise? Perhaps even a good AM twin tip would not be enough and I will need the 2nd muffler or resonator. What's my best option for the catback, quiet but minimal restriction. Perhaps I can't have my cake and eat it? I'd rather not spend more than $1200 all up and would really like to keep my 'sleeper' style with twin tips on the end.
  13. I seem to remember $40 something thousand being mentioned. I want one too! 500kg and up to 300bhp with the supercharged. I was also wondering if an SR20DET version would be poss.
  14. Autech does or has with R33 GTR at least.
  15. R34 is where Nissan finally got the sedans looking as good as coupes. I would recommend the R34 Tiptronic Sedan. Great as a daily driver in traffic, but able to change gears at will in the hills and twistys. You'll be able to get a grade 4 series 1 in for low-mid 20's.
  16. I've been pleasantly surprised with my lack of clearance issues, totally different from my R33 mspec front bar that took a beating every week. I'm stock ride height though. Must be a lot of GTT's over in Japan in wrecking yards with undamaged painted factory kits? Challenging bit is to find a reputable supplier and organise a container I guess.
  17. I guess mine is the Nissan Motorsport factory sedan kit?

  19. mmmmm sedan goodness....
  20. It probably didn't get 'stuck' it decides to stay in 2nd if the load etc warrants that ie if u try to change in 3rd going up a hill at 40km with high load it will hold 2nd. After 6 months of daily driving I've found the logic to be very good at determining this kind of thing. Sort of stops the driver doing dumb things and protects itself to an extent. There are two ways of shifting the stick works by clicking back for lower gears and clicking forward for higher. It's kinda counter-intuitive. The buttons on the wheel are much better so I never use the stick anymore. It's a little tricky in the beginning to be in say tip mode and use the buttons round a corner from 1st to 2nd cos u sort of have to switch the button upside down making sure that u select up and not down a gear. At heart I am a manual man but even so I am not disappointed in the tip. I can go from lazy bumper to bumper no heavy clutch falling asleep fully auto to button shifting holding gears up and down hills virtually like a manual but with a slight lag between shifts. But, even this becomes a non issue after a while because as a driver u start accounting for this lag without giving it a second thought. In fact to get a faster shift in a manual you would have to be shifting it pretty hard and possibly hurting the box in the process. It doesn't detract from what is a very nice car to drive. I drove a tiptonic 04 falcon the other day for work - what an absolute whale POS in comparison.
  21. I have an auto R34. I can control when shifts occur, I can downshift coming to traffic lights. It's called tiptronic, once you get used to it the steering wheel shifts it becomes second nature. Not as fast as manual at shifting but much better than standard auto. Not trying to say that its better than manual cos it isn't. But tiptronic does provide me with the ability to chose when i change up or down gears. It's also good having the choice to swing into standard auto when in traffic. This and the fact that I paid $6k less than the same car in a manual, and that I got one in possibly better condition for that $6k less, keeps me happy with my choice. Test drive both.
  22. managed a sonic boom yet? that's a steal at $120k. I'd better start saving right now.
  23. Evo 7 private compliance is $5,500 + GST + tyres @ CROSSOVER CAR CONVERSIONS, FERNTREE GULLY, VIC. or $4,750 + GST+ tyres @ RECREATIONAL VEHICLES PTY LTD, NERANG, QLD. * Rec Vehicles said that they would charge an additional $2k for new cat and brake pads if the car had done >= 80,000km. It's possible to get a grade 4 with 60-70 on the road in QLD for $30k, provided the pads don't need replacing. They seem to be coming down and 1 AUD = 86 YEN atm. I'm just not sure that the build quality is as good as Nissan or Subaru. http://auctions.amayama.com/mitsubishi/lancer/
  24. Any news Bob? or haven't got round to it yet?
