  1. hehe if i can to get one it would be a low km standard one for about $5k
  2. I am listening guys.. Yes it is like getting caught up in the hype kind of like an addiction or habit the excitement of getting a new toy. At the same time I dont think a EA falcon or VN commo has the same level of build quality as an 89 Nissan. I mean I still see R31's that look dam good for their age. Yes different to a GTR not a track beast much less chance of a flogging absolutely. But, amongst the craped out examples on Prestige their are good ones perhaps 1 in 4 or so seem pretty reasonable with genuin low km's. Thats wot I would get. Something with a motor that has a good chance of still running good compression. Grandads GTR (lol prob don't exist). If i do it I will be very patient and wait for the right one. Out of curiousity how much is a rebuild for RB26DETT and how much is a new engine? I have owned a 81 falcon, 76 escort, 79 commo and 87 commo. I know old cars and their probs although I realise a GTR will be much more $ to fix.
  3. Whereabouts are they based? What's their history? Be careful.
  4. Common as taxi's is a bit overboard. Its just I think that we notice all the skylines but just ignore most other cars. R33's are the most common of the 32-34 though I think because they meet that nice price to age ratio.
  5. Nice avatar, they still look great in 2004 if they are in good nic. I mean I've only had the 33 for 8 1/2 months only a few mods and I am already thinking of moving on. Is it that I want more of the good skyline thing or am I just greedy?
  6. That's hitting the nail for the biggest positive I can think of on the head. Did u import? If so an 89? How much if u don't mind me asking? Good condition for it's age? Yes it's a house to live in. Not an investment per se.
  7. Commonsense and Dreams don't mix do they.
  8. Haha I'm not the only one then Later models are out of my reach for the forseable future. No its not easy but people do it. As above reply I if i take the plunge I will be patient in waiting for a good one. I see poorer interior as an acceptable trade off for the performance. Exterior wise I love R32, 33 and 34 as long as they are in good nic. I took the plunge with the gtst and it paid off big time. I'm willing to take the plunge again on a 89 GTR provided it checks out good as far as I can tell from here. Prestige and Jspec seem pretty reasonable in their assessments of car condition and I have already imported through the former with no nasty surprises just nice ones. Yes I agree though the chances of a flogged car are higher being 6 yrs older and a GTR but I'll try to minimise the risk. I'd be happy with a 100% stock one so long as relatively low provable k's and apparent good condition (age considered).
  9. I could say no to that cos im after a grey or possibly original blu, black would be no.3 on my color list. Besides I've seen that one on prestige too and when theres examples like this for approx $24k on the road here I can definately say no to that one. If i do decide to take the plunge it will be with something similar <100k click with proof log books type thing.
  10. Point taken. Have modified my sig. Its not a decision I'm taking lightly I will not be jumping in I have already weighed up the economic side of things. But theres more things to consider than just those anyway. Anyway I'm open to rational arguements for and against. I know my desision best but constructive thoughts from others particularly those that have owned both cars would be useful in the DM process.
  11. I'll start by stating that my 95 gtst is in tip top shape. Auction grade 4.0. Stock apart from mods in my sig. + Yes I know i have to rationalise it myself and make a decision. Swapping my car +cash for a local GTR would be a good option but don't think many would want to go back to a T after an R? My car is worth $18-20k based on its good nic. Figure I need $23-25k for a good 89 GTR (imported under 15 yr rule). Pro's GTR faster, attesa, more special, still look great, 15 yr rule ends 1 Jan 2005, I get to own a supercar before my life changes drastically (see below) Con's Going back 6 years in car age, older style, more $ to mod/fix, need to borrow $5k or so, should save for house and baby (I'm 29 and my GF is on my case), Need help on pros vs cons to make good decision. I did search but no good hits.
  12. I'll keep my eyes open also on the Northside of Brissy. Maybe we need GPS trackers installed in our skylines
  13. Have to agree. Only "seen" drift on a 2hr HPI vid neva done it or seen it in the flesh. Came away really impressed by the way Japanese in general organised themselves in areas like u said. No "hype" or bullshit or arrogance just basically fun and improving skills. Also came away thinking it looks dam hard to do. Been driving real wheel cars for 11 years and I wouldnt be even close to being able to do it (assuming a car setup for it). Why cant we have that sort of culture in Australia - No hype lets just get together and improve our skills have fun and not hurt or annoy anybody. Maybe we should learn from the Jap drift culture and try to setup a "real" drift culture in aus???

  15. I'm sorry to here about your lack of centres gatty but was just wondering if u can post some pics of your car with the new rims on it. Give me a really good idea about how they would look on mine. Also how much did u pay and who did u get them off? PM me if would rather not make it public?
  16. Specifically, Advanti atomics or Koya K-57 or K-66's (KOYA WHEELS 855 BOUNDARY ROAD, COOPERS PLAINS 4108, TEL: 07 33441137 FAX: 07 33459063) I'd like Volk Te37's but cant afford them. If the advanti's and koya's are cheap heavy crap I might try for buddy club P1's. Can someone confirm if these wheels are descent quality and not to heavy?
  17. I just bought a ticket when i saw a blue 350z in the shops. This kid was there with his mum buying tickets too. He said "I'd put big wheels on it and turn it into a drift car" I thought in my head (save it for the bombed out s13's and 180's u fool). I wouldn't contemplate difting my 33 let alone a spanking new 350z - starting to like those now. Makes my 33 look like a dinosaur.
  18. Do u mean here? They do seem to have the style I'm after the buddy clubs and nismos look good.
  19. Bridgestone & Toyos. Approx 30% tread. 2x 205/55 R16 2x 225/50 R16 $300 neg. Prefer local buyers in Brisbane/SEQ. Bank deposit, cash. zymotic(at)bigpond(dot)net(dot)au
  20. Are these any good. Ok not as good as Volks, but they are Jap, are they reasonable quality and are they are light? Anybody know these? This is the kind of look I'm chasing on a spark silver 25t Black Racing Pro N1 $1600 new5x100 17x7.5. Would this size fit my 25t? or do i need 17x8?
  21. I'd like to get some of these for my stockish 25t. Whats the best most economical way of getting them? Where from etc. How much are these worth 2nd hand 17inch? What size do i need to fit stock 25t? (nfi what offset etc would fit) Oh black, broze (dark ones). In Brisbane btw.
  22. Still for sale? If yes... Will they go straight onto my 25t? (without spacers etc) What brand of tyres? Negotiable?
  23. I'm always looking at the barrage of falcons and commodores. I was going to say falcodore but don't want to annoy shaolin with my prejudices. Not gonna dis anybodys car. But... I just can't help thinking that these falcon and commo drivers think they own the road cos theyre in a big powerful car. In some ways i think these peeps should test drive a line and feel the dif. Although that would mean more lines on the road devaluing our cars. Oh well cars not an investment anyway. Well not a 25t. Boost is joy. Its almost like too cars in one. A Dr. Jeckyl and Mr Hyde effect. We get to choose which with our foot, as opposed to a V8 with more linear power. Am i making any sense or just babbling. Sigh.
  24. Yea I saw one for the first time a week ago. They are damn smooth i reakon. Can just see me n the wife n the kids in one in five years. After my skyline I don't think i could go back to a 'normal' wagon it would have to be teh STAGEA! They make turbo kits for these new nissan donks too don't they. Be talking some serious gee gee's with turbo kit methinks. A regular family weapon
