  1. My 25t seems to be having probs under boost. Under light boost I don't seem to notice anything. Under load it feels like a blocked carby. I think this may be due to my turbosmart bleed valve. I have searched and people talk about violent jerks, mines not that but it definately stutters under load. Are these bleed valves fine when properly installed or is this just the trade off in being an el cheapo mexican and buying a turbosmart bleed valve? Would a GFB bleed valve do the same thing assuming the rest of the setup, hoses etc are ok? If not how much is an EBC and whats the best? I am thinking of getting a PowerFC in the future should i just hold off and buy the boost cont that comes with that. Any trouble shooting tips I could use to stop the stutter? Or is this a turbosmart curse? Advice please PS did search but didn't find exactly what I'm after. PPS only mods are below rest car is stock
  2. How much approx to get a 260 RS eg. 97 model on the road? The 2.5L version looks around close to $20k.
  3. Just wanted to say thanks for bringing APC to my attention till i read ur post i'd never heard of them - ony 4 years late Have been a tool fan since i first saw the sober clip 11 years ago. OMG 11 years ago - I be old.
  4. After reading Steves comments, looking at all those mods and the price. U must be bumped. Someone should buy the car before its too late/stocked.
  5. I love my T but would go the R in that situation. Not too interested in 1/4 or drift more into track. Mainly also cos it would be my daily driver and a stock R would be better behaved I would think on the street than a highly modified yet faster T. I would luv to take an R on a hill climb round Mt Glorious/Nebo. Plenty of fun in the T though still. Thats were I think both the T and the R come into their own twisty hills. Not that I'm a hillclimb expert nowhere near just comparing to my previous 4 cars. Point is i think the R would be even better in this (my favourite type) road situation.
  6. "I don't want to pay the insurance on a turbo and I can't get finance for an import so unfortunately it's locally delivered cars only and probably used as you can't anything decent for 30k new."
  7. 2002-2003 Subaru Impreza RX
  8. Thissite is good for a general overview of dates options models etc. And perhaps SDU (not as good as this forum though - of course!)
  9. The factory tints tend to look that way. My car looked the same ex Japan. Lot darker in the back is all. I started thinking that in Japan you couldnt tint the front sides but no
  10. Looks sweet Drivings gonna become lots of fun for you now :aroused:
  11. anywhere from about 16k to almost 30k. Depends on year, mods, condition. Eg a stock 93 model in good nic would set u back around $18k.
  12. Yea but then we get into 2nd hand could be a dodgy cooler territory. If there was some guarantee I wouldnt hesitate esp cos of price. Im guessing that a stock GTR cooler would also not have the same cooling potential as a ARE or intercoolerguy new one. Better to have it and not need it, than to need it but not have it. You've got me thinking though.
  13. I have tried to search but didn't find the thread I was after. There was a guy on here who had just fitted an intercoolerguy hyrid to his R33gts25t i think with some good results maybe 20kw? I already have air filter, boost and twin dump 3 inch turbo to tip. So am thinking about getting a FMIC next. I have heard good things about ARE and they are close to me also. I have confidence that theyll do a good job but from what I can see I will have to spend about $2k. Is this necessary. Eg the Intercoolerguy has his hybrid delivered for $1150. Myabe for my purposes this is ample. Im not after 11 sec 1/4, more after a nice handling street car with good response and daily driveability. Lergo can't see me going beyond 250rwkw. So do people have good reports on this hybrid IC. Will it be ample for up to 250rwkw with supporting mods. Thinking of getting that delivered for $1150 and getting ARE to fit it for $280 (although thats to fit there kit). Will they run into any probs installing the hybrid?
  14. Wow 1112 lets get some more! People power.
  15. I work at that Council and yea I'm a skyliner too. I'd like to see it used for motorsport again also. Will sign. I've often thought about taking the 25t out there.
  16. I guess u could look at importing only if u are prepared to wait longer though. Also since the mods u are after are minimal, importing may be a good option. Prestige or J spec seem to be the 2 most common importers people go through on this forum. Prestige got a white 96 with few mods for $20k. When I imported though Prestige I added another $2k to their price (on road costs) though so maybe $22k for that one. Takes on average 3-4 months but u can save a few $k that way. Just something else to consider.
  17. Thats right bash the R33GTS25t's. Yes I know Pentae S13's are much better bla bla FFS anyone would think they drove themselves. Lergo its the driver not the car. Yes, I happen to drive my R33 (yes thats right infamous dirty Commodore replacement the only skyline anyone would ever hoon in) like a grandaddy 95% of the time. grumble grumble sob sob *end of rant* grrrrr
  18. Ok just need to know if one for a 32 fits a 33. If so i might take u up on it.
  19. For R33GTS25t. Hopefully in South East QLD.
  20. Can anyone identify the wheels. I like them. Well the rest of the car is nice too.
  21. Front spoiler agree. Rear no mines the same as a s2. Yup HICAS nup to ABS mine dont have it, well as far as i know it doesnt. Mines a 6/95 pretty sure tis 1.5
  22. Use teh search series 1.5 Differences I have noticed, mine is a series 1.5 apparently. Rear spoiler is series 2 not 1. Interior is series 1 (which is great cos i dont like the el cheapo mexican series 2 interior - lol watch me get :flamed: by the series 2 owners for that. etc.
  23. lol this is why i didnt touch the ECR etc thing
  24. series 1 vs 2 R33 specs more specs 93-94 is a series one 95 is a series 1.5 (blending of 1 and 2, bit tongue in cheek really a series 1) 96-98 is a series 2 I dont think this is a hard and fast rule though. IE some 94's seem to be like series 1.5's, some 95's seem to be series 2's. Someone else will have to do the ECR, HCR thing cos I'm not sure.
  25. Ya $25k would just get u into R34 without turbo territory. Not sure if these can be imported, maybe not NA R33s can't be as far as i know. At that money your best of getting a series 2 R33 GTS25t if you want a car thats less than 10 years old. These were in production till 98. You may also have $ left over for insurance which can be several thousand $. I have a 95 and its sweet. Guess this assumes that u want a turbo car for the performance otherwise a NA 34 may suit u. Still think youll be scrapping with $25k even without turbo. Its wise to give yourself a buffer between what you've got to spend and what u spend. Just in case.
