  1. good reports according to http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ighlight=jaycar
  2. http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=KC5387
  3. all well and good as long as it gets it to the ground more interesting for me to see how it compares to a more comparable larger capacity engine like VQ41DE as in V36 Skyline GT 330ps @ 6000rpm and 40kg/m @ 4800rpm add a turbo and compare that to the barra turbo bit fairer i think poor little 25DET
  4. stock manual GTT 150rwkw?
  5. Good, how much power before it goes bang? Think I'm still getting used to the semi-auto type setup. Maybe after i get used to the standard shift I'll trial the wheel controls. Do u use tiptronic mode for the track or drags? Do u keep TCS on for track? (I've noticed when i give the car a bit of stick one side of the rear seems to deaden [for want of a better term] guess this is TCS at work, its wierd) Had any dyno runs with your new hi flo?
  6. I already have a ntsc tv that came with nav system. Want a single din unit that accepts pal outputs ntsc + mp3 + tuner. Similar to this http://www.jvc-australia.com/products/_pro...ils.asp?ID=1397
  7. Manual would get a flat 6 i would think. I just bought a 34gtt tiptronic. I guess u also have to allow for increased drivetrain loss for auto. I don't know what power the auto can take apparently high temp is killer so fit a good cooler. Tiptronic pro's: auto mode - same as any auto tiptronic mode - good for compression slow downs, hill climbs, its a novelty(steering wheel shifts are a bit of a wank imho) Cons: slower than manual to up/down shift, for me at least (after owning for 2 weeks only) more difficult to control than manual - sure Ill get used to it. Manual is better apart from traffic stop starts, but for an extra $5-6k i couldn't justify it. Esp when conversion can be done for approx $3k.
  8. After a DVD player that accepts PAL and outputs NTSC + tuner + mp3
  9. Can you suggest any reasonably priced (mp3 + tuner) models ant? best I've come up with so far (price/value/quality wise) is http://www.jvc-australia.com/products/_pro...ils.asp?ID=1397
  10. is it possible to get a dvd player to hook up to the tv that accepts pal dvds but converts to ntsc for the jap tv?

    Northside

I'll wave. I'm Northside. <= Just lookout for stock R34 taxi! Nice 32 btw.
  12. bummer, had a closer look and i can see that the two white gears on either side are not connected that plus engravings on the top and instant on means i got no xenons no more. I'm not that fused. If I did lots of night driving esp in darker areas i might spend the $ but rather it go towards my zorst. The halogens will do. nah just the normal red 25GTt on the bottom right. Must admit overally I am very happy with the car. Apart from the loose timing belt which Gavin Wood put in a new GTR one (got it before anything else went kaput) its a very good, clean car. Some of the ADR rules are dumb written by people with no common sense, considering other import cars have factory xenons. Grr esp cos they are worth $2k!
  13. Mine seemed to come on straight away, 2 red wires going into each, seemed to produce less heat than the inner lights, bulbs looked dif to inner lights with silver caps on the front of them, could see a label with WA91 on it. Bulbs plugs looked like this But could not see if they had blu ends. None the wiser really. EDIT: doubt there xenons, can see engravings in the top of the light indicating they'd been changed i guess.
  14. pretty sure they left em on. I'll check for sure tommorrow. The reflective casing has xenon writen on it still. Xenons have a bluish tinge? Anyway I'll have a close look. What else distinguishes them?
  15. strange, I got to keep mine
  16. Be interesting to see what it would make with K&N etc panel or pod/cai filter and 10psi. How loud is the system? Does it drone in the cabin or pretty quiet. Does it get too loud at higher revs or still quiet enough?
  17. Have u got any before and after dyno reads? How much drop in RPM before the turbo reaches positive boost compared to stock?
  18. Sounds great, let us know.
  19. Yea, I had http://www.jackbeedham.com.au/ fit a turbo back mild steel with twin dumps, and stainless cannon for $1k (stock 33gtst). Definately noticed seat of pants gains in power and response. But that brings us back to one of the previous points. Are these $1500 to $2000+ systems worth it in terms of $ per kw? or might I just as well get them to do this exhaust with a resonator this time to reduce noise? I remember looking under my car a few times at the Beedham custom exhaust and noticing it was very straight with what seemed to be good quality maundrell bends + min restriction. I'd like to think that CES, Mercuries, HKS would be superior in power gains but I wonder...
  20. another quote Can't find much in the way of exhausts on Greenline or Nengun. Can you share your hyperlinks or workshops that you've come accross. Oh I got quoted $1900 by Mercury Motorsport for a similar system also using CES's twin dumps.
  21. Cannon Style! Apparently louder than a good twin tip. I don't like em. Decisions, decisions, might put foward the HKS system + price (minus any names or SAU references) to CES and see what they say. Can't hurt. Anybody reading this thread with a before and after dyno run with full CES zorst on gtst/gtt please share your results/thoughts.
  22. No need for me to debate with u I appreciate the input. I am dubious on the 40kw claim also thus the thread title. Your $1500 sounds good. My questions are does this include high flow 3 inch+ cat, quality muffler twin tip or noisier cannon and how loud; are they ADR noise compliant/<86db/quiet. IE only as good/free flowing/power producing as weakest link/ smallest diameter allows. 10rwkw seems low perhaps because of running rich etc caused by stock ecu. From what I have read on the forums a good full zorst seems to give approx 20kw on a stock 33gtst. Perhaps also GTT's don't respond as well, or ecu protects them better?
  23. from Trevor's email They are expensive but if you consider bang for buck perhaps not. eg average full zorst may make 25wrkw but if theres really makes 40rwkw (33gtst) then bang for buck wise it probably makes lot of sense forking out. Also the most free flowing exhaust will I think enhance other mods more than an average exhaust. This is all hypothetical and theory so thats why I made the post to see if anybody could enlighten with practical insight. Cos I don't really know. I mean I spent $1k on previous full zorst if that gave me only 25rwkw then its a false economy to an extent, if you plan on doing at least mild mods anyway. Maybe u get what u pay for applies here...
  24. Probably true. So extra 40kw at engine not equal to 40 at rears. Wasn't sure if drivetrain loss is constant or increases with increased engine power (%).
  25. If they dyno the car before and after I'll let u know what I get. 40 seems like a lot! They are apparently the best though.
