  1. It all depends on how much you want to spend... If you're a tightass like me, you'll go the cheapest way which will still leave you will the same power figures It's all physics. Sound travels as a block, if you break up the block, you quieten the sound. When I was at apprentice training, a guy in my class had a silvia and the exhaust was too loud. All we did was drill 4 holes near the end of the exhaust tip and placed really long split pins so they formed an X across the exhaust tip... without a dB meter we don't know exact numbers, however the exhaust note was obviously quieter and there was no performance loss whatsoever If you don't wanna start replacing exhaust components, this is a much easier and cheaper alternative...
  2. Has anyone used hose fabricating places to make the coolant and oil lines to the turbos on a GTR? I tried enzed and they said they couldn't do it but I get the impression he just didn't wanna do it. Anyone tried enzed or any preferred hose fabricators? Im hoping to get braided teflon coated lines and was just wondering if anyone has any good places
  3. Do you have the coolant and oil piping for the turbos? Mine are bent and need to be replaced
  4. HELP!!! Does anyone know anywhere to get coolant and oil lines to and from the turbos for a R32GTR. They were bent beyond repair upon removal and Im just wondering if I have to go through nissan or if there's somewhere else cheaper... I figure that whilst Ive got the engine out it should be fixed right... just to save me doing it again
  5. I saw drd00F in Mt Colah on the Pacific Highway tonight. I was driving my commodore so I doubt he saw me... oh well
  6. I got a set of HKS GT-SS turbos from a company called CJ motor off ebay recently. They were really good. It came posted from QLD to Sydney 2 days after the payment went through, and was new. Everything was in the kit, turbos, actuators, gasket kit, nuts and studs, and wastegate vacuum line. The price was heaps better then anywhere else I could find. Only problem is the instructions were from HKS and all japanese. I'm a mechanic though and Ive already replaced the turbos once before. CJ motors is definitely the way to go
  7. This completely works. When my stock rear turbo died and I was low on cash so I decided to just replace with another stock turbo. Whilst everything was apart I opened up both the manifold, and the turbo slightly, and once it was back on the road, I was hitting full boost almost 1000rpm earlier. Although it is true about faster air flow when there is a thinner section of pipework ( a venturi) for a turbo to spool well, it requires a greater volume of air to pass by the exhaust wheel. The bigger the path for the air, the better the flow, and the earlier the boost comes on. Having said that, it would have been a good idea to either block the exhaust side of the turbo from any shavings, or take it apart and blow the shavings out before refitting to the car. After 2 months of having the car on the road, the rear turbo let go again and was found to have shavings blocking the oil return to the engine.... oops GT-SS going in now though, I might be more careful when matching these turbos to the manifold
  8. 12.805 @ 117mph R32 GTR with full nismo exhaust, upgraded cooler (brand unknown), HKS pods and hard piping kit, standard PCM, standard turbo's with boost controller removed previously, exhaust manifolds opened up at turbo mating flange, standard fuel system and no EBC. That was a few months ago. The engine has blown since then. I'll get back to you in a few weeks after I put the new motor in with gt-ss turbos, tomei fuel pump, SARD 700cc injectors, power fc and 19 psi of boost. Hopefully good things will come of the 12 grand + Ive spent on parts
  9. Hey guys, just wondering how many spots are still available? I'm hoping to put the engine back into my GTR this weekend and would love to take it for a thrash if there are still spots available. It would be my first SAU event so it all sounds like awesome fun
  10. G'day guys, I'm new to the skyline forums. Just wanted to say hi to everyone and hope to find out about any events and get to meet some of you. Cya
