  1. I re-purchased my personalised plates with new color scheme some time back .. was around the $135 from memory
  2. my worry wouldn't be what can happen if you get busted If I was a P plater in that position I would be more worried about how the insurance companies would deal with any claim if you cause or are involved in a accident, you could find it used as an easy out for them on settling the claim. a few hundred dollar fine is easier to deal with than having someone damage ur pride and joy and you having no comeback
  3. always give a wave to skylines .. but for once I knew who the driver was
  4. maybe this should read >> If you aquaplane then manage to get grip again (stop aquaplaning) and you have a half descent amount of skill you can stop you car hitting something when aquaplaning (definition - to rise up onto a thin film of water between the tires and road so that there is no more contact with the road ) in my humble opinion skill doesn't help much whilst you are aquaplaning, but can help out to avoid an accident one you get grip again unfortunately in my case I didn't get the chance to see if I had the skills, I managed to travel about 50m with absolutely no grip. don't get me wrong .. doesn't mean I drive like a girl in the wet, just a little more cautious and mindful of the fact that doesn't matter ur skill level, quality of tyres or any other factors .. sometime you may find yourself in a situation where none of it's going to help The only reason I would prefer not to drive in the wet is because maybe there are a few people out there with the kind of attitude I used to have .. I have skills.. I have a good car .. great tyres .. I'm indestructable .. it's wet .. let's have FUN !!
  5. Sounds like the attitude I used to have when I was a man (and much younger and thought I knew it all) I guess now I'm just one of the boys (older and wiser ? ).. as I've learnt that it doesn't really matter how good you can drive or think you can drive .. hit a big enough sheet of water and start aquaplaning and ur just there for the ride, so hang on. I guess some ppl will just have to learn the hard way tho I aquaplaned on the western freeway (outbound at the moggil rd overpass) many years ago (about 2 months later they decided they better fix the road) it didn't end well, about a 50k insurance bill. This happened when travelling at the speed limit so I have learnt that it's a real danger without adding excess speed to the equation. Any of you men out there that wanna experience the fun of aquaplaning should find urself a suicidal mate .. jump in the passenger seat and get him to drive at 90km/h at a brick wall. That helpless feeling you will get as your about to hit the wall and you have no control over the outcome, that's the feeling of aquaplaning keep it sensible .. respect the weather

    R32 seat

Hia guys would anybody in the Brisbane area happen to have a R32 seat laying around they would be willing to loan for about a week? A friend of mine is having his seats retrimmed but needs a seat to put in the car so that he can still get to and from work.
  7. put me down .. always up for legal fun
  8. I have this same(?) strange smell .. and it's gear box oil smell in my case started happening when I had the gearbox oil replaced .. am yet to find the source of this annoying smell, there are no indications at all of a leak from the box but I suspect it wouldn't be the rubber boot you suggest as there would be no need for this to be disturbed for a simply oil change, I had never had the smell prior to the oil change I guess the first step would be to try another brand of oil
  9. That was me .. I have now become a city commuter .. new job in the city started on monday If you have to drive to the CBD each day, having a skyline makes the drive bearable I didn't see you tho Steve .. will keep an eye out
  10. that was me It came with all manuals in Japanese I have downloaded the H/C manual in English but it's not a Skyline Specific one it's for theRX-7, has been some help tho but would also like to find the R33 Rb25det one Regards, Garry
  11. Number 34 sounds like a good excuse to upgrade the R33 to a R34 .. bet my wife doesn't agree with my logic though .. I'll give it a try
  12. Member No .. ??? Paid member since 8th December guess I will get a number and member pack at Mercury Motorsport on Friday night
  13. I was plagued with the stall and unstable idle problem prior to my PFC upgrade PFC doesn't seem to have problems with the atmo BOV on my car, altho my set-up is a little different to most with the stock re-circ BOV not being removed when the atmo BOV was added (don't ask me .. the car came from Japan like that). But I am happy because I don't have the huge 'Pssstttt' sound when it vents, as I see it it's assisting the standard BOV to vent quickly ( I could be wrong .. wouldn't be the first time If it ain't broke don't fix it is my motto... so I have not bothered to remove the standard BOV
  14. I was struggling to get 250 a tank before the PFC went in power went up from 171rwkW to 192rwkW and first tank was over 350km and that was even plenty of 'fun' driving (it's amazing the difference 21kW can make to a torque curve)
  15. my car was there last week to get the PFC fitted and a few other minor things addressed, was happy with the results and service. have since sent a email with a few questions about the PFC and Trent actually rang me back to discuss it. Happy with the service and happy with the results Also saved 10% by being a member of SAU Regards, Garry
  16. R33 Nebsie said >> Even after I bought elsewhere they helped me source some parts and also put me onto a mechanic they use as well I spent a few hours with Mick when looking for some-one to import thru.. nice guy turns out I didn't import thru SVI, so thought I would do the right thing and go have a chat with him about why he didn't get the job, after all he does run a local bussiness ( I live just round the corner ) I went back to see him and abruptly got kicked out of the office .. and he lost out again .. as he didn't get to see the cheque I had for him as I was willing to pay him for his time that I did spend with him talking about the process. It only helped to put my mind at ease that I had made the right decision with regard to who I would and would not import through Hope which ever way you go you get the car of your dreams Feel free to PM me for further details .. not going to air the nitty gritty on a public forum
  17. threw 05YKO a wave out the window as I drove past him at Bald Hills this morning on my way to work
  18. Results after fitting up my CES Dump Pipe would be interested to know how some of you other guys have got on
  19. Got mine fitted on Saturday by Allstar Tuning at Zillmere Difference on my car between Std. Dump and the CES one was 11 rwk ( 7 % increase ) Torque went up by about 10 % I am happy with those figures - I have a Electronic Boost Controller so therefore that's an increase due to better flow & less turbulance rather than an increase in realised boost pressure Will post up the dyno graph tomorrow, Allstar Tuning was kind enough to do the dyno run for nothing so that the results could be posted here many thanks to them !!
  20. I will contact CES direct to organise mine Thanks for the hard work darrin I will post before and after dyno figures to give all a idea of the performance gains once fitted
