Installation Of A Greddy Profec B Spec Ii Solenoid In An R33
KR4-GTR replied to KR4-GTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
thanks mate, just wondering if the majority of people seem to mount them in the same place though!? Are there any risks involved in leaving it in its current position? Where is the BEST place to mount it, or is it already in the best place? -
if u can find one! haha i drove all over sydney to get one of these, check my threads! got 2 white ones - need a red one now!

Hi all, I recently had a Greddy Profec B Spec II installed in my R33 GTR. It works perfect and i have done a bit of research. From what I can tell, it appears to be mounted in the correct position in the bay (next to the filters), however just want confirmation from you pro's on here. Is it installed in the correct standard place? Where do you guys have it mounted? My old HKS solenoid just wasnt this visbile. I'm just extremely picky and really careful, especially when it comes to my car. I've taken some pics, anyone else with a 33 and a profec, or anyone who knows about these in general - your input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

^ no luck in this space. still looking guys and girls!

Just saw this thread - Ease up mate, i was only kidding. I honestly thought you would have just taken a hint and removed the alarm details from your above post!? But hey, each to their own. To clarify, yes - you can bypass microwave sensors hooked up to an M80, if you really want to scoop that low and attempt to steal someone elses pride and joy. I'm not going to be responsible for educating people how to do it - but it can be done. I actually had one set up in my old car and also had the same alarm, would loved to of explained to you the best way to set, position and place the sensor itself, and also a few things which are almost always bypassed during standard security installs to pretty much ensure you wont get f**ked if someone did try and steal it - but unfortunately, it doesnt look like you want advice. Also, while on topic - a large number of the generic microwave sensors are defective and false alarm a lot - etc, easy fix for these though if you know what you're doing. I have numerous friends who are auto electricians and have a few which specialise in car security, so i guess its natural for a few of their small tricks rub off on to me. No, I dont know your car - but some theives are experts. This is what they do. For example - its as easy as buying something from you even just on this forum, coming to pick it up, then they follow you home, plot the strike, then perform a few days or months later. I dont know about you, but owning these type of cars, I dont even pull into my street with any other cars in sight, if its busy, I pull over and wait till its silent. Anyway, if someone did follow me home, i wouldnt want them to know what type of alarm i had installed. If im popping a deal with someone off this forum, I never even bring my car there, I even black out my rego plates in pictures. Call me careful, cautious, vigilant, whatever. But you never know who views what on the internet and why. I'm here to help, but its a shame that the occasional joke can seriously send people over the edge such as the above. I'm sure you were just having a bad day and you're not really as immature as that last post makes you out to be. Cheers.

Hey mate, Yeah this is an EVC III - the one with all the extra options like scramble - etc. Personally, I think it may have wiped the current settings or something when they disconnected the battery and they couldnt work out how to use it without the instruction manual so told me it was rooted. But I could be wrong. On that note, I actually have a soft copy of the manual I can PM through to you if it would help you? I cant play with the settings on this one now obviously because its already out of the car, otherwise i'd be giving it a shot out of curiosity!

Hi all, I had this HKS EVC III Boost Controller professionally removed from my R33 GTR yesterday. The unit itself is still in excellent condition, however a mechanic told me that the solenoid is not functioning correctly. To be honest, I dont know if this is the case, or whether it was just a sales pitch to get me to buy a new boost controller. It was working perfect before I took it to them? Even after the solenoid was apparently broken, it was some how set manually to still hold 14 psi and did this perfectly. I called a few spare parts places and have seen that the used solenoids to suit can be bought for anywhere from $70 - $100. A few places told me that the solenoid may just be dirty and apparently you can just open it and clean it. Its only a few screws on the top of it so if you know what your doing, it may be easy - but I'll leave this up to the pro's as I dont want to attempt a n00b fix and break it. On the other hand, if you just need a replacement unit - as per above its still in great condition! Its a shame I had to remove it because its such a sexy unit with a large and well lit display. Apparently these are still pretty sought after, I have seen them available in used condition, direct from japan on ebay for around $350 + post. The 2 main parts - the boost control unit and the solenoid are included. Also a few random bits of wiring. You will obviously need some tubing but its not expensive and would need to be customised by a mechanic to whatever car your putting it in anyway. I'm asking for $125 including registered post + insurance to you. However, as per usual - all offers are considered Pickup is also available from the hills district. You can contact me on 0434 929 257. Cheers!

Where To Buy R34 Gtr Rims? Recommendations?
KR4-GTR replied to KR4-GTR's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
We'll see mate If the right offer to sell is received then i'm ready to go ahead, however i'm also more than happy to keep her! All the hard work is done and she is ready to be enjoyed, so i'll do just that until the right buyer comes along! Every time I take her for a drive she still puts a huge smile on my face. one like this --> haha So to summarise, Dont rule me out - i'm not anywhere close to getting over my car and i'm still in the market for a set of sexy 34 GTR rims for her! -
Hi guys and girls, I'm putting my 1997 R33 Vspec GTR (Series 3) up for sale. I personally inspected over 80 R33 GTR's (no exaggeration) and it took me over 3 and a half years to find the right one, but it was worth the wait. The car is as close to mint as possible with all original factory paint. It is the rare R34 GTR KR4 sonic silver in colour, which is unique to series 3 only. This is a guranteed genuine GTR, genuine V-spec and genuine series 3. The car has been in Australia since 2006 and I am the first and only Australian owner. It has been serviced every 5000k's since I have owned it and touch wood - I have not had a single problem with it in these 3 years. There are currently 76xxx km on the clock. The car has only ever been driven on weekends and if it even looks cloudy outside, it stays garaged. The car has never been taken to the track or strip and to be honest, rarely ever really boosted past 4,000rpm on the road - im just not that kinda guy. Only the necessities and a few sensible upgrades are present - as you will see below in the below mods / features list. A few weeks ago, I had a brand new Apexi Power FC (RRP - $1700 + labour) and a brand new Apexi Power intake kit (RRP - $549 + labour) professionally installed. I also had the car tuned (cost $600). I have also just bought a new Greddy Profec B Spec II Boost Controller (RRP - $579 + labour) which will be installed shortly. This car is more for a collector, admirer or someone looking for a perfect base for a project, which has not been pre thrashed. That being said, the car was just tuned a few weeks ago and puts out a proud 222rwkw @ low boost (12psi), which is still enough to put most other cars on the street to shame. Dyno sheets are available. To make it just that little bit sweeter, the boost has since been raised to 14psi - but I havent had it dyno'd since so cant tell you a power output, all i can tell you is you better hold on to something when it comes on boost and theres plenty of room for modifications if you want even more power. The car also has the very rare and sought after genuine factory Nismo oil cooler kit with the extra intakes on the front bar (note - this kit is worth over $5000 on its own, if you can even find one!) I have only ever seen one other car exactly the same as this, series 3, V-spec, in this colour and with the nismo oil cooler kit. It sits in the Nissan gallery in Japan. I dont think there are any others like this in Australia, or many others like this in the world. (I know thats a huge call, but i'm serious!) I am willing to take interested INDIVIDUALS for a drive, however you will not be driving the car until a deposit has been received - no exceptions. Anyone who knows enough about GTR's knows what a mint series 3 V-spec example is worth, and more importantly - that you get what you pay for. All the hard work with this car is already done, its ready to be enjoyed. My asking price is $33,500. Please note - I'm not interested in trades, sorry. A summarised description and modifications list is attached below. The car is located in Sydney, If interested - you can call me anytime on 0434 929 257. Cheers! Overview - Model - 1997 R33 Nissan Skyline GTR V-spec (Late model - Series 3) Colour - KR4 - Sonic Silver (Factory R34 GTR Dark Silver) Modifications - Engine and drive train - - Standard Garrett T28 twin turbo setup - Active 4WD + Active LSD - HKS boost controller (will be removed and new Profec B Spec II will be installed) - Pivot turbo timer - Original lowered v-spec suspension - Adjustable front tension (caster) rods - HKS full hard pipe kit - Apexi twin power intake pod filters (New!) - R34 GTR AFM's - Full custom exhaust system - High Flow Catalytic converter - Apexi Power FC ECU (New!) - Tomei fuel pump - Tomei fuel rail - Upgraded fuel pressure regulator kit - Nismo oil cooler (complete kit with extra bumper intakes - RRP $5000+) - Braided hose set for rail / regulator / cooler - Nismo engine mounts - Nismo gearbox mount - C's close-ratio short shift gearbox kit - Heavy duty clutch - Upgraded Series 3 GTR gearbox synchros - Standard R33 GTR front mount intercooler - Original GTR Brembo Brakes - Original GTR front and rear strut bars Interior - - Genuine factory Nismo 320km instrument cluster - Original GTR bucket seats - Updated Series 3 red stitch interior - Genuine GTR floor mats (hardly used) - Pioneer DEH-P6850MP head unit (CD / MP3 / WMA / I-pod compatible) Exterior - - Genuine factory series 3 Xenon Headlights - Nismo bonnet lip - Genuine v-spec rear bumper pods - Colour coded genuine Series 3 GTR lower lip with larger intakes - N1 front bar air intakes / slots - Original Adjustable GTR spoiler - Factory series 3 rear R34 brake light pattern + rear fog lamp - Original 17' GTR forged alloy rims + lock nuts (With Bridgestone Potenza RE-01 Rubber - 70% - 80% remaining!) Security System - * Near new full security system details to be provided to the new owner upon purchase. Will definately be a nice suprise for you - cost me lots of $.. Pictures attached - Cheers mate, appreciate the kind words. UPDATE - A brand new Greddy Profec B Spec II Boost Controller was professionally installed today. (RRP - $579 + install cost!) Just like my old boost controller, i had it mounted behind the steering wheel for easy view and access. I took a few happy snaps of it with my camera phone so you can see how great it looks, both in the light and in the dark! I have also had a few general questions about the tune and fuel consumption. When I had the car tuned, I advised I wanted economy over power. Mark from Hills Motorsports in Sydney surpassed my expectations and delivered a safe tune, which has both - great economy and more than enough power for the street. Driving it lightly around town I have had up to 480km to the full tank, highway K's around 550+, which is obviously brilliant for a GTR. Cheers for the comments guys. Sorry about my delay in response, i havent checked this thread for a few days. I didnt mean to make it that obvious that selling her isnt on the top of my priorities list. haha C-gtst - I will see what I can do about some more pictures for you. I did spend around 3 hours cleaning the engine bay this afternoon and i took some quick happy snaps afterwards. I'll put them up for you - they are a bit boring (i only took them so i could admire my cleaning job - not to post on the forum!) but hopefully this will be enough to feed curiosity until i find / take some good ones. A note to all - if I havent replied to your PM's yet, sorry - it only lets me reply to one every 5 mins and if i was to reply to all in my box (just about the car), i'd be here for the best part of an hour. For those who asked, - the car was auction grade 4.5. I may even still have a copy of the paperwork somewhere in one of my folders, i'll have a dig around. If you have any questions about the car or want to put in an offer - please dont hesitate to give me a buzz, but please dont just call and ask how much cash it would take to convince me to drive you to your school formal in it. On a side note, i've also declined 2 offers pretty close to my asking price, but just not close enough. Anyway, this should give you some sort of bearing for negotiation / any offers you have in mind. Please keep the questions, comments and kind words coming - its only 1:58am but reading your replies have already made my day Pics attached as requested. I went nuts with the happy snaps. Couldnt pick which ones were the best, so i just posted the whole series! haha Please let me know what you think, and if you have any more questions - please ask! Cheers! Part 1 - Part 2 -

still looking for a set, anyone have any more ideas? on a side note, i have had a few people PM asking how much i was prepared to pay. i have $2000+/- ready to spend on a good condition set with good rubber. obviously this depends on rim condition, type of rubber and % remaining, if they include centre caps, location - etc. have had a few new offers come through, but at present - im still waiting for the right set / seller to come around. i'm even currently looking at getting a set sent over from kuala lumpur, but thats only if worst comes to worst. please PM me if you have any ideas! thanks! -
