yes i also read that the tyres were expensive(american review though) and having test driven one for a reasonable amount of time i agree about the punch.. what i love about the car though is the styling especially the front(back is a bit droopy) and the interior..rides very smooth as well..

Hi all; I am thinking of buying an S Type Jag 1999 model and have found a low kilometre (60k) example which seems to be in great condition. The one thing the owner said was that he just had some work done on the transmission, according to him they have a weakness and all S types need to be operated on to rectify this inherint problem. Having bugger all knowledge on Jags let alone the S Type, i have done hours of research on the net and most reviews were good. I was hoping that some of you might have had some knowlegde/experience on the 1999-2002 models, whether a parent/relative or someone you know having one. I am concrened about reliability and cost of repair issues, especially common faults that they may posses. If you can share any experiences i would be grateful. Cheers

Just wondering if there are any disadvantages in using a ground loop isolator. i used one to eliminate some of the interference noise but soon after located where the problem was thus getting rid of the interference all together.. question is should i leave the isolator in or is it better to take it out?

some years ago(actually longtime ago) i had my datsun engineered by a workshop in carumm downs...think they were called 'Protek'... they were the cheapest back then and were a nice bunch of guys, but i am not sure if they are still supplying reports...see if they are on the list.

engineers reports vary in price from each engineer/workshop to the type of modification/car... i dunno how you guys came up with these figures.. get a list of vicroads certified engineers and ring them all up to discuss your issue and the best price...
