sounds like your heater core, but if you wanna check your pump, simply wiggle your fan with the belt off looking for play...if you have any play your pump bearing is cactus.

no they dont check if they cant be bothered or they are too busy... my last defect had too low (even though standard height and wheels) but they didnt come out to check...
