i have had one for about 6 or 7 years now....they are quite good and useful not to mention relatively accurate little things... back then it cost me $295, but nowdays retail at $395.. i do recommend them.

i wouldnt recommend self tuning an autronic...way too involved... but awesome ecu...well worth the dollars if you can spare that much.

well as you said insurance is a problem for you and a moded skyline will be even more expensive to insure. i also believe stock cars havent been thrashed as much, and are usually cheaper and attract less attention from pricks who wanna damage or steal your car... plus you will personalize your car to your taste if you feel the need for mods in the future....

i have manual r33, stock boost, cat back exhaust and air pod.... i consistently get 450km with a bit a stick, about 550 driving like a granny... have tried optimax for a year, just changed to BP ultima, havent noticed much difference yet but still keeping an eye on it..

the exhaust housings on turbos usually crack due to thermal stress, as do the manifolds....but your problem may be as simple as loose clamps...

sounds like the problem....do not to use incorrect sealent to fix in place....in fact get it sorted professionally.

yeah i think they are american...although i havent searched that hard i get the feeling they will be hard to source.... i saw them in a magazine on a sydney car so they can be found in australia i guess... but i am not even sure if they will fit skylines..
