Guilt toy whats kina key board u using it looks like it is wireless.. do you do that with bluetooth or... i am going to also buy one of thoes $200 vga touch screens off jaycar. they look verry basic thats what i want so it will be easy to mold in. DOES any one know if or when you connect the 12v acc power in to the screen the screen will turn on or if it detects a signal form the vga port.. i dont want to use the buttons i want to have everything flush..

samon, great write up. umm can i ask iv been to a heap of computer shops looking for a usb external sound card and iv had no luck i know u can get em off ebay but is there an easyer place to pick em up from.. pics would be great ay.. on my project iv ran all cables in the car, and instaled the power inverter in the boot with all cables 240v etc done .. so all i need is to find a sound card and screen and to fill putty sand putty sand putty fill sand sand lol..... thanx guys

hey, i got some pics for ya i have more but this gives you an idea .. i will also be moving the aircon to the glove box as i need to have the deck up frount.

i have wired a the two contacts where the switch is to have a button switch all works ok.. and the laptop needs 18v so unfortuantly i can not run it off my car.. so i will be using a 150w power inverter... 12v DC IN = 240v AC out this willl be in the boot where i will run cables down to under the drivers seat.. i will have switches so i can switch INVERTER on/off Screen on/off Fans on/off computer touch switch and main power on/off At the moment the full start up takes 26sec and full shutdown 10. so all in all it is quite quick tho i need to hit a button. but thats all ok.. thanx mate.. will get pix up soon,,,

yea guys thanx for your comments.. i will be getting some pix up soon just working out the small details but will keep you all posted so far it has cost me.. $38 for the case and $16 for cable $32 for fans and switches $25 For odds. solder heat shrink etc.. then the 7'' VGA touch screen about $250 so i will be trying to do it all for under $400 ( but like most of you ive got an old computer) thanx

hey guys just feel free to move this post if it is in whe wrong section.. OK.. hear goes. just been surfing the web a few years a go when getting my first car.. and came across a website that has many threds and posts about Mainly US people putting computers in their cars... when on the site the other day came across a skyline.. wow.. gave me an idea iv got an old laptop lying arround so i thort this mite be a kewl idea. turs out its easyer than it seams... just a frew options what is out there 1tb hard drive if ya got the money i have a 120gb one wireless usb stick for when you are in a wirless hot spot wireless usb stick pay per month . telstra,, etc,,, like using the 3g network dvd's music gps the list goes on you can also hook up a digital gauges,, but i an %80 done on this project all i need is a lcd 7'' touch screen and putty it in and i am done.. well what i am trying to ask has anyone done this and can help out on things they should of done iff the would do it again,. if there is enough intrest i will be posting pictures of the build.. please leave ur comments bad or good as i want to know what you recon.. thanx

Ok i need some help.. R33GTS-t Si (1993) making 239rkw When i was at the ahg track. I was able to take my car for a spin. now when taking tight corrners or sharp left right turns the car would kind of (I would get to the conner then when powering out its like there is no fule getting to the injectors.. i have a totaly stock fuel systerm but i dont know if it is this...) so like surging i have tryed making corners when the tank is full to the brim and it still happens... i dont know what it is realy.. Sparks, Fuel filter, pump injectors ahhhh thanx for ur time

You dont need to have the V meter just go down to supacheap and for 10 buks u get the same thing with 1x2ga 1x4ga 4x8ga well worth it

sorry mate didnt make my self clear.. umm all the tubing in the engine bay is a ok. its just the rear of the gauge where there is a special lug that is crimped on the the tube to make it leak proof i think it is also nylon tube. it looks like spaghetti, thanx for that mate ill have a look arround

Hey. Iv got a small prroblem with vacuum line of my gauges... the boost gauge it is a manual gauge with a vacuum line now when i brought the car the lights on the gauge were not working,,. but the gauge was working well... what i did was connect up all the wires to make the gauge lite up and in the prosess i bugged the vacuum line in the back of the gauge now by taking a look i see that there is a nipple crimped on to the line so when you tighten the line on to the back of the gauge it pulls shut.. but the line had a crack about 4mm from the connection in to the back so the vacuum was ecaping and not givving me a true reading.. what should i do 1 source a nother cable or crimp a nipple on the the end.. 2 Wait a while till when i get a automatic boost control then that will tell me the boost running ( but not actual boost or is it) Just buy an new manual gauge.. or what can you sugest thanx

To do a good job You need 10M power cable GOOD one $15 Switch or Switches $ 5 each Zip-ties $5 Solder KIT $10 or 40 Heat Shrink $10 Fuse holder $7 Fuse needs a 500ma or 3 amp for all $2 Wire it all up to the ciggy or find under the drivers side a fuse box with ( Pos and Gnd ) form acc switch wire up from there Take the all the pos form the led's and the pos form the batt or acc and put the switch on there and all the Neg just wire all these together easy as

But all you need to tell your insurance is that its now X amount you will be paying it back through the premium ull pay mine was only 12500 but i got it insured for 20k hope it helps
