surprisingly when we skim the rotors and when they come in for their next service, i noticed their rotors needed machining again cause its heavily scored and pulsates everytime i brake and its been done on their last service as well which was like 1 or 2 months ago (the skimming was done properly too and they are not warped). we measure the disc on every services and yeh almost every commodore or falcon we get either needs their rotors machined or replaced.

depending on how much mods you put in and whether the tuning is done right which most usually dont and at that power level the engine is sure to let go soon as well. RB20s lack torque so usually if you add power, more torque will be sacrificed so you'll still end up getting a bigger engine and at that power level most would prefer a rebuild just incase and if so, you might as well rebuild a 25 since it already has more torque and with forged pistons etc..., the strength is not much different to the 20 or any forged internal engines so most will be leaning towards the 25, 26 if you have extra cash or 25/26 30 combo if you can stretch it out more.

^ as said, front bumper design is different compared to series 1, guards are a little bit straighter, bonnet design is also different and lights are of different design and will stick out if not done properly and those lights cost 6++ brand new from Nissan, not by any means cheap

The list of good and bads of GTST and GTR R32 and R33 GTST R32 The Good- Looks good for its age, lots of aftermarket support, good overall package, RB20 unburstable(depending on tune and use) The Bad -Starting to get a bit old, RB20 lacks torque, rear seats not much room for 6 footers, gearbox weak, aftermarket bodykits have to match the already good styling as most dont suit the styling and era of the 32 (same with R34) R33 The Good-More room inside than 32, has one of the strongest gearbox from Nissan, lots of good examples around, most bodykits look good and them, more practical, bigger brakes, RB25 has more torque and quite strong... The Bad -...if you can keep it below 400HP or 300KW because the RB25 is actually the most fragile compared to the 20( RB20 can handle 600HP with stock internals) and 26(RB26 can handle between 400-600HP), duller interior compared to 32 but exterior is personal preferance, slightly heavier GTR R32 The Good- The car that started it all, good looking, 13 sec on the quarter mile dead stock, scares people in normal cars, recently became more affordable than before, wheel-base large enough for fatter rubber, no airbags on all models mean easy steering wheel swap The Bad- expensive to fix when they let go( at 17 years old, most do unless taken care of well), same aftermarket bodykit issues with GTST but the GTR already looks good enough, Brembos only came in V-SPEC II, ATTESSA ETS 4WD system has the slowest update with more track-oriented handling so its not best for beginners R33 The Good- Looks at least better than GTST with the pumped out guards, Brembos on all models, seats more improved and more comfortable than even the R34 GTR especially on long drives, as usual more room than R32, ATTESSA ETS easier to control than 32 GTR and more practical The Bad- heavy styling match the scales: heavier than 32 GTR and surprisingly slightly slower than R32 in a straight-line, compared to the R32 interior is still duller, handling although more user-friendly is actually slightly duller for more experienced drivers and racers, Active LSD only available in V-Spec models, airbag wheel ugly

-c**ts who ride up my arse when im doing the speed limit and finally decides to overtake me. -people who shot off the lights and i finally end up right behind him at the next lights, shot off again and again behind him at the next following lights. stupid c**ts who speed off im gonna stop behind them again if they didnt turn off at the next lights anyway. -saturday nights at the city when you are the first at the lights and someone drunk pulls up next to you to try and race you. -at two way turns where you are at the left lane and someone on the right lane just speeds to get in front of you: particularly the junction at the lights from grantham st turning into selby st. i never let anyone overtake me there if im first off the lights. hate those who speeds in front just to jump into your lane.

ive got my intercooler supplied and installed, my dump pipe and highflow cat done, and did all my dyno runs from them. im getting more stuff done to my car by them as well like fuel pump, ecu, tuning, etc... great people and the work they do is excellent and almost no flaw. Abdus especially gives very good advice for your modification plan and is very helpful and will answer any questions you've got. Very highly recommended: you'll have no problems dealing with them

there was a cruise goin on yesterday and saw the meeting point at city west on my way to Northbridge around 8 something.

steve barnes at northside nissan knows his skylines very well( and he owns an R32 GTR and used to own 2 R33 GTSTs) and we can definitely order them in. i got lots of my genuine parts just by talking to him. even with a not very specific describtion, he can usually tell what you mean and what you need.

also depends on how its been treated as well. if its treated well like after a trash you'll want to change all lubrication and that way it should last longer and letting da turbo settle after a long run(tho most would already hav turbo timers).

if the coils and spark plugs didnt help stop it from misfiring, could be your coilpack wiring harness thats worn. its something most people never really thought about changing and its starting to be the major cause of misfires due to its age and exposure to engine bay heat for that long.

lots of people bought Power Fcs second hand as the price for a brand new one is ridiculous but then again, even 2nd hands are not that cheap but keep looking around, your sure to find a good example at a good price. havent heard anything wrong with them even the 2nd hands examples.

Heavy Duty Clutch & "double Clutching"
R33_NICK replied to Awesome's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i agree. mine does that as well whenever i let my foot off the clutch quickly (fun when its wet lol) so i got the habit of heel-and-toeing when downshifting everytime. makes me feel like a race car driver lol -
Any Reason Why Whenever I Give It Full Boot?
R33_NICK replied to R32 GTS4 4DOOR's topic in Western Australia
ok got the price, your looking at about $185 but itll have to come from japan. we dont usually keep them in stock cuz not many people actually buys them but we do get a few sometimes and they have to order it as well. the thing about the harness is that not many people actually pays much attention to it so when the car is misfiring and they do the usual checks like the coils, sparkplugs, igniter, you know the usual things but forgot about the wiring. the harness deteriorates overtime and become crispy and fall apart easily because of 19 years of exposure to heat. id recommend getting a harness when changing the coilpacks for a piece of mind so you dont have to take it all apart again. -
Anyone Running 2860-5 Or 2860-7 Turbos On Rb26?

sorry i thought the engine just went in today cuz i saw one of the mechanics working on the underbody and looked like he was aligning something( probably gearbox or engine onto its mounts) but i was outside when i saw him doing the work so didnt get a good look. nice car btw . saw your engine while its still on stands as well. -
Heavy Duty Clutch & "double Clutching"
R33_NICK replied to Awesome's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
heavy duty clutches can hold more power without slipping than the standard unit and can take more abuse as well. however if the clamp load on the pressure plate is high, so is pedal effort which explains why your clutch pedal is heavy. the material used for making the disc is either cerametalic or a stronger organic material so basically, it grips to the flywheel quickly the moment you reach the friction point (which can be a pain in traffic given that it is either on or off). theres nothing much you could do about the pedal effort unless you swap the slave cylinder to like a Nismo type which most say reduces pedal effort. double clutching is a technique used to match engine revs with transmition speed?(correct me if im wrong). im not sure about double clutching but theres also another technique called heel-and-toe which does almost the same as double clutching. when you downshift, while pressing the brake pedal, you move your heel to the accelerator with your toes still on the brake pedal and press the accelerator with your heel to blip the throttle when you down the gear. when you first try it its a bit tricky as while you blip the throttle you might accidentaly press the brakes further so things can get a bit jerky on the way but keep practising. both techniques maintains engine revs which apparently settles the car when slowing down for a corner and will stop compression lockups when you take your foot off the clutch pedal. again correct me if im wrong in any of those points. -

our parts guy have been flatout for awhile so i didnt get a chance to ask him( everytime i go to his office, hes on the phone with a customer and some have talked right through lunch time or another call jumps in after he finishes the other). ill get him 1st thing in the morning tomorrow and ill post it up when i get back from work -
top gear insults cars to sell and some people found them amusing then again, whatever they said should not be taken seriously. tho what i hate about them is that they are biased. to them, british cars like the Aston Martin for example is considered the best eventhough the aston or any british cars basically have lots of breaking down problems, etc...

speed cameras are to be doubled as said on the news. they even mention the reason to it is because WA has the highest death toll compared to the eastern states so yeh watch out for them.

Noisy As Fark Kaaz 2 Way
R33_NICK replied to CrankyGTS11's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
2way LSDs are very aggressive and thanks to that will always make a noise and theres almost no way of drowning the sound completely but at least when your cornering you tend to forget about the noise. tho, i gotta admit the noise is annoying. from what i heard from some, the nismo 2 way and the tomei technical trax 2way are quieter than the rest. -
Nissan R34 Gtr Vs Nissan 370z
R33_NICK replied to Turbo Piston's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i very much agree with you. i drove a 350z before; its good but not great when comparing it with an R34 GTR as the R34 GTR is in a very different class. i remember when we exchanged waves at Floreat. your R34 GTR has strong presence and looks menacing with it nice and low. makes my car feel weak lol -
Nissan R34 Gtr Vs Nissan 370z
R33_NICK replied to Turbo Piston's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
dont forget what happens when you launch a GTR hard off the line. rev to the limiter, wait for 5 secs, then dump the clutch and off you go leaving the any cars behind with ATTESA traction. personally, R34 GTR ftw and i dont like the new techs on the Z and working on even the 350z is a pain as the engine bay is soooo cramped(to undo an exhaust manifold, you have to go up and down the car with multiple sockets and extensions and its not over yet when you still have to take the other one off). and the presence of an R34 GTR is unbeatable. -
jeremy actually said that the skyline is one of the best cars hes ever driven, especially when he went to japan to test the R32 in the early 1990s and he rated them pretty well. he even said that the chassis can handle more power, is better looking than a porsche 959, faster round the track than a Ferrari 355, said in a battle between japanese techno wizardry and italian design flair, japan would win and finally said that he is not joking, the skyline is one of the best cars hes ever driven. tho rating the R35 is a personal thing. some like the new techies in the car but racers and experience people dispise it for having them and for it not having a manual kinda discourage some drivers as well. also, the previous generation GTRs didnt have such thing like electronic damper controls, traction control and all of them are manual only and the only tech they have is their 4WD system and thats not much of a tech either( since the ATTESA ETS uses a hydraulic ram to activate the transfer case), so in a way, most would rather have the older generations than the new one and tune it up to make it good if not better than the R35 ( which for the same money of the R35, you can buy an R32, R33 or R34 which is like 20k, 30k and 50 or so k respectively and the extra cash can make it faster than the R35 if done right) and you can feel smug about it anytime and if you install the parts, well, double the satisfaction. but maybe the reason why he rate it uncool is because of the price tag which puts it in the range where almost only rich people can afford them and he did mention that any cars will be rated uncool if its accessible to only soccer players or actors etc...tho i disagree with him putting the aston martin on sub-zero and putting most british cars on cool

actually its not only BP. when i had to refill some of the loan cars at work, i noticed shell especially the one near wanneroo rd had problems with pumps not in use as well both unleaded and premium unleaded and that happened for months already.
