  1. got my fmic installed by Tenagah last week and the brand they supplied was from a company in Malaga called DWRRACING. pretty good quality cooler and the company actually put some attention into making their kit, especially with the pipe which goes over the radiator, has been made to be as low as possible to clear the bonnet, tho you'll still need to cut your fan. actually made a big difference to the cars performance. getting the car on the dyno on friday to see how much power its producing after intercooler fitted. 12 psi is considered the safe limit for the stock turbos but it also varies; sometimes they will last 1BAR, sometimes they wont.
  2. went back to malaysia last year and was horrified to see the petrol prices there. cost bout $2++ to refill even a small car. but yet again, there are lots of people out there who could still pay for it or dont really have a choice.
  3. hey mate. i work at northside nissan and i spoke to my parts guy and he said we have the studs in stock always.
  4. no offence mate but whatever the reason, he nearly got Bubba into trouble with a dangerous manuever especially at hairpins and pissing everyone off, whether hes experience or not and turning a cruise into a race isnt what i call an excuse for not driving the car in awhile.
  5. i dont really wash my engine bay as i dont want to risk getting water into my coilpacks so what i usually do is wipe it down with a cloth but if you have to wash the engine bay, avoid the top part of the engine. i even had to tell the mechanics not to wash an rb motor with degreaser and pressure cleaner cause we had one who made a mistake of doing that and the car was misfiring badly and he had to take the coilpacks out again and blow dry them and the car ran fine afterthat. you can wash and degrease underneath the car or on the oil filter (which is away from the coilpacks) but avoid the cam and coilpack covers at all cost.
  6. use a breaker bar if things are tooooooo tight and believe me it works as it gives you more leverage but be sure the bar is long or its not gonna make a difference. if you dont have a breaker bar, use a pipe that you could slip on the rachet and it will do the same job as a breaker bar too but just be sure the rachet is not a 3/8 drive or you'll risk snapping the mechanism inside. basically for something pretty tight, you'll need a 1/2 drive rachet with a pipe or a breaker bar.
  7. bought my car from autoworx and i can say im pretty damn happy with it. dont look at odometer reading cuz most of them have been wind back. if da car is genuine, the odometers should look perfectly straight then you'll know all details of a genuine car is there. the main thing to look at is mechanicals; make sure its not leaking tho you wont really any leaks from skylines much, oil is not gritty and black but autoworx changes the oil anyway or any weird noise tho some noises are not a major concern. most of the problems will be taken care off by autoworx so you can be pretty sure you get a good example. for insurance, well, im paying 1700 and its under my name but might go up since ive made a claim( does anyone know by how much? im with Just Car insurance) which is hefty but i guess thats the only drawback from owning a turbo car when young tho its pretty fun having a skyline for 1st car; fast, good performance and plenty of attention, but sometimes unwanted: you do get people trying to have runs with you but becareful as undercover cops will try to do that now( i saw the boys in blue in a camry coming out of da northside nissan ramp)
  8. im with you on this one. they seem to charge hoon drivers more than drunkens and stabbing and etc plus the charges for those are ridiculous. in malaysia, if anyone murders someone, you stay in prison forever or hang to death and the judges decides between the two and there isnt any choice but for the charges to hoons, its up to you to do burnouts or drift round a corner or etc as long as it doesnt endanger someone and most of the time they dont really care what you do, unless things get out of hand and while cops here target and defect any modified cars, they dont give a shit there and i think there isnt any defect law around cuz i think they know its not worth it when they could pay attention on something much more serious.
  9. yep it was, ripping FWD burnouts and yeh i seriously dont know what the hell are they thinking. most of those hooning are usually those in commodores and falcons and while its true some does it in their imports as well. those drivers sure gave us a bad name and because of that, we are stereotyped as hoons as soon we get into our cars. its funny how countries like Germany or anywhere in europe have areas with no speed limits and yet theres not many death tolls heard off. even in malaysia where their driving is dangerous, dont really have many death tolls in cars( tho a lot in motorcycles) and believe me their driving is seriously scary and most of them can modify their cars to extreme levels without worrying about being defected; i even saw a honda civic race car being driven everyday on malaysian roads and a heavily modified R34 GTR on a recent trip. sometimes you do wonder why do they have to defect cars for any modifications done to it cuz its not really going to do any good.
  10. hey guys, i just watched the news and they are talkin bout hooning and shit again, particularly about p-platers. this time, they are talkin about bringing in crushing-the-hooner's-cars laws if they were caught. more undercover cops will be around this time as well. on the news, they also show a done up commodore being crushed and evos and fc rx7s being confiscated, luckily no skylines on the video. as usual they showed the blue S15 doin doughnuts video again and surprisingly, a pulsar doin FWD burnouts as well.
  11. we definitely went over the whole car and your water pump was still fine, not grinding or anything, your radiator is still ok and it wasnt blocked, we flushed your radiator just incase. the mechanic who worked on your car is one of the best we have who worked on these imports regularly. the thermostat is what you should replace as it is one of the main parts of the cooling system and ive got trade price on that for you. about your air con pulley, the mechanic said that your pulley was making lots of noise and its rough as well which usually means that it is goin to cease sooner or later and imagine if the crankshaft pulley or harmonic balancer is trying to move the ceased pulley; thats why he didnt put the air con belt on. apparently, my parts guys said that he sold a lot of these pulleys to skyline owners. and did you say your car gets hot when standing still? if so then your thermofans might be out because when standing still, theres no airflow to the radiator and usually when the coolant reaches a certain temp, the fan will come on and control the temperature but when moving, theres airflow so it cools down the coolant as it passes through the radiator. if the fans are working but only at a stage where its getting too hot, then somethings wrong with the sensors.
  12. going to use motuls 300v on my next oil change. before that i was using castrol edges 10w-60 but i noticed that when starting up especially when its cold, the car had some trouble idling for a few seconds and sometimes i had to rev it a bit to idle. possibly cause the oil being too thick so might just get something a little thinner but still effective. oil filters, i stick with the genuine ones. felt like getting the NISMO veruspeed oil filter tho. has anyone used castrol edges 10w-60 before?
  13. open gates are definitely illegal but those that are plumbed back before the cat are legal. cops will still sticker you for weird reasons but if you bring it to the pits they will pass. is there something about noise levels as well? some say that it cant be too loud.
  14. id still take the porsche as long as its a gt2, gt3 and as long as its manual. dont particularly like all the electronics on the r35; just ruins the fun. would rather have the older gtrs either 32, 33 or 34 and the leftover cash could make them better than the r35 and more fun especially when modifying them, you get that satisfaction. not to say i dont like the r35, i like the performance; its just the electronics and the fact that it doesnt come with a manual
  15. i cant remember but the control arm costs close to $300 but that was with trade price and got one of the mechanics at Nissan to install it; getting a mechanic to install it should be around 150 but im not sure on that one. got my wheel alignment done at wa suspensions and that costs bout 90. havent done anything to my rims yet tho. have you checked the rest of the suspension components?
  16. know how you feel man. had this happened to me before but mine was because my tyres were bald, went round the corner when its wet, understeered then hit the kerb pretty hard. when i put it on the hoist, my lower control arm was bent. my wheel which took the hit is damaged as well. put it on the balancing machine you can clearly see it moving around. had a new control arm fitted since, lucky none of the other components were damaged and got a wheel alignment done. wheels still buckeld tho.
  17. yikes! so you were following me sorry if i did lead you the wrong way. i had to leave the cruise for some reason and was looking at my rearview mirror hoping no one is following me lol then i saw your car pass. i initially thought you were leaving the cruise or going the other way cause we were like behind the pack. something bad happened at zig zag?
  18. hmm so its a common problem for the R33s. just find that noise very annoying eventhough it only makes it once in awhile
  19. yeh only heard this sound from another series 1 surprisingly but not the series 2
  20. hey jewlz, dont know whether you remember me; the asian guy wearing glasses drives the grey R33. i was going down the kwinana freeway(needed to leave the cruise) and saw your car pass me heading north
  21. hey guys my cars making some weird knocking sound somewhere in the dash when i start it up particularly when its cold. heard in in some R33s as well. has anyone had this problem before?
  22. BP innaloo brought it up 2 like 107 when others r still 1 or less
  23. truu yeh they definitely have to be secured i got da holder dat fits da middle of my dash which looks factory n can hold 52mm gauges and can also be adapted to fit 60mm ones will they defect that still?
