Smithton Lap Dash is on Saturday. Starts about 10.30 I believe.

Fees now paid... Hopefully I can get hold of two 3 or 3.5 inch flanges tomorrow so I can piss the pesky compliance cat off. Apart from that its pretty much all systems go.

Car is pretty much prepped ready. Just gotta sort something to replace the stupid compliance cat and fit an extinguisher. Off to see the guys tomorrow and pay all the necessary fees and stuff.

Good to see you got two real cars The 32 and a two door Torana. Pity its not a Hatch is all... You heading down to the kart track in Smithton this weekend for a look?? Taking my GTR out for its maiden Australian track day. (The harness mounts etc kinda give away that it was raced in Japan )

Difference Between Standard R32 Gtr & N1 Front Bar?

Sweet, all I needed to know. Change part numbers on the quote tomorrow and order the N1 stuff instead. Saves me cutting stuff up and risk getting it wrong. -
NISMO boot-lip spoilers are attached with a double sided foam tape. Same as most door-moulds and the like on new cars. They can be removed, it just takes time and patience. See if you can lift one end slightly and then work a plastic spatula or similar under it and slowly work your way from one end to the other.

Unfortunately my GTR was backed into in the supermarket car-park a week or so ago. Nothing major to look at till we got the bar cover off and found the Rio and mounts all bent and distorted. While talking with my body-works and local NISSAN dealer we discovered that the N1 Bar Cover and Rio are in fact the same price to buy as the standard GTR Bar Cover and Rio. Now I understand that I will also need to purchase the N1 vents to go in the holes but was wondering is that in fact the only difference? Have the N1 bar and Rio simply got holes in them already for the vents or is there more to it? They didn't have different shaped headlights or something like that did they? My standard GTR lip will still attach properly etc??? I was going to buy the parts and cut up my standard bar till this happened so I figure now's the time to do it and save work later if possible, its not a case of wanting to brag about having a genuine N1 bar. I really couldn't care less about that sort of stuff.

All that is stuff that could quite easily been put on... How about the important stuff like, I dunno... Driveshafts connected to the front wheels, twin turbos, the RB26 engine... You know, the sorta stuff you wouldnt normally expect to see in a GTSt thats been done up to look like a GTR -
Doesnt really look like much at all actually. Till ya get the bar cover off and see all the little bits that add up. The rio is creased and bent on both sides, lh headlight has been pushed sideways into the indicator breaking the mounting lug, the rio mounts are bent and will need to be straightened... Its been in the bodyworks today so they can do a quote and send off to my insurance company (Thumbs up to Shannons and Cooee Bodyworks) I think the guy who did it will be a bit surprised when he gets the bill from them as he doesnt have insurance and I dont think he knows exactly what it was he backed into.

New front bar and lights going on after some numbskull backed into the GTR in Woolies carpark on Sunday arvo. Not like he hit it real hard, just pushed the whole car nearly a meter backwards, while it was parked, unattended, with the park brake on and stuff...

Good luck with the roadworks between here and Smithton then. My missus travels that road everyday for work and I got sick of ruining all our good cars so I ended up buying her a $300 ED Falcon to run into the ground instead. Apparently there is still over a year before they are finished.

ahh no. The o'rings were fine on mine. Fuel was leaking out of the body. Where the Yellow top meets the black body. Cant see the crack/split/hole whatever it is but with the engine running you sure as hell could see the fuel seeping out everywhere and it definately was not from the o'rings as they were dry as. Another good way is to look at the condition of the injector body. Generally if they are all kinda dirty and dusty except for one or two then those cleaner ones will be leaking. Its the fuel leaking out that washes them clean.

Funny you should mention that... I went looking for your number while I was in town yesterday but found that it was one of the many that didnt transfer across to the new phone I got a couple of weeks ago. Have since found it again and will ring when I am coming through, as it will be soon.

ahhh... My first spotto. I feel special. I spottoed a heap of lines and other assorted imports in Launnie yesterday. What I dont understand is that if you dont race them your a wanker, if you do your a hoon and if your just minding your own business trying to find a shop or park or something and thus going a bit slower than everybody else then your simply a nusciance to everybody else on the road... You just cant win when you own an import. At least with the Hatch people didnt seem to mind so much if you just crawled around at about 40kph.

Good!!! Cause I cant stand customers who think they know it all and want to argue the point when they are given advice by a mechanic. If you know it all thenb so be it, but please dont pass on your misinformed information to others who dont know any better... Must throw this one in the old memory banks then... All those cars that come into the workshop belching blue smoke and stinking of burnt oil aren't in fact burning oil... Wish I had of know this important information all those years ago instead of believing the misleading info I was given. I feel cheated, over 15 years of misinformed info that's probably cost thousands upon thousands in repairs that were not necessary.
