  4. Hi I am looking to replace my front tires as they are getting quite worn. I am looking at the Falken FK452 or maybe the kumho ku36, can anyone recommand me a good place to buy these tyres and a decent alignment place as the tyres i am replacing were worn out within 16000km. This being my first tyre change, is there any other tyres I should look at? I want something thats quiet and relatively long lasting street tyres $300 each max. thx
  5. Hi Just wondering where should I look for v35 parts in australia? I am after a HKS hi power ti exhaust and some Tein springs but I cant seem to find any shops that got them instock locally for V35 or 350z. can anyone recommand local shops that might have those parts instock or reputable shops from overseas. Also, I am having some problems with my front tyres, I was told they need to be changed within the next 2~3k but i had only driven bout 13k on them so they seem to be wearing out rather fast. Does anyone have similiar problem with their v35? and is there anyway to fix it or atleast make the tyres last a bit longer? Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the help Chris!! Will give Michael a call, and hopefully I will be able to drive my real soon
  7. yeah it is, do you know whats going on with my car or any tips or advise regarding this situation? the wait is something that I can handle, but it's the lack of info that is driving me mad! the broker said i sholuld get the car on road by mid nov or latest end of nov when I was looking around for the car. so with the shop unwilling or unable to provide an approximate date when my car will be looked at, i dunno i need to wait another 1 week or 1 month! and with xmas getting near and near i dont know if they gonna get around to my car this yr or not! i tried to contact my broker for advice, but the office is closed due to the " low exchange rate" and wont re-open for another week, I dont know if it's just my luck or something, but when ever I need advise or help from my broker, he is never available! last question, if I did get my car towed away from the compliance shop would any other shop be willing to take over or there are legal issues and stuff? really dont want my car to be sitting out in the rain and sun through out the whole summer... so, if anyone can give me some advice or suggestions are more than welcomed.
  8. ok, i know i said i wont reveal anything about the compliance shop before i got my car I have been trying to control my frustration of being kept in the dark about everything by the compliance shop I have decide to give them another week or so to see if they will finally work out when they will be able to start work on my car or I will just get the car towed. one hint bout the compliance shop. Chris, I think you know these ppl, because thats where I got your business card from also, does any know the average time for a car to be complianced and registered at a REASONABLY efficient and PROFESSIONAL compliance shop?
  9. Hey sorry for the late reply~ kinda busy for the last few weeks with uni, work and stuff The compliance shop IS in Brisbane, I wont reveal the name or address until I got my car, just in case those people decide to take even longer or anything while working on my car one thing I dont get is, they WONT tell me when I can expect to my car!! all they willing to say is, " we got lots of car on our hand, and they all left the ship before you, so you just gota wait!," How hard is it to work out when a customer can get his car? i dunno anything bout car compliance, but it CANT be that hard to estimate when they can get around to a certain car is it??!! I can understand if there really are lots of car or it does take a while to compliance a car, but they seem to know nothing about anything I asked!! so, my car been sitting at the compliancing centre for around a month now, and that was after it was left in the dock for around a week because they did not get my Import approval 2 weeks after the car landed!! Can i just get the car towed home and do the compliancing thru others after xmas?
  10. I was real pis*ed about the way I was treated by the compliance shop so I will add some detail about the incident. I was informed by the customs agent on 22nd of Oct that he did not have a copy of the import approval to clear my car thru the customs. This was 4 weeks after I signed the compliance agreement and paid them a deposit. So, called up the compliance shop, they couldnt find the paperwork about my car at first, after quite some time they found the papers and sounded quite surprised. Then the person start getting upset after I asked why it took them so long when I was told getting the approval would only take 2~3 weeks at most. The person start telling me I should not have ship the car before I got the appoval and it might be send back and stuff all that was said in a loud and angry voice. in the end I was told to just sit and wait, the approval will come in the NEXT FEW WEEKS!! Then after 2 weeks went past I got a call from the comliance shop and was told the approval is finally here, this was 6 weeks after I paid them! I then ask how long it will take to compliance my car and was told they got NO IDEA when it can be done and I will just need to wait! So now, I gota pay for 1 week extra storage fee due to the approval not being ready and wait until they can be bothered to find some time to comliance my car.
  11. Hi all, This is my first time to import a car ever, so I thought I would share my experience with everyone. The car I want was a v35 skyline the journey begins in early September, but it was late september when I made a successful bid. 11.09.08 Paid the broker's service fee $ 1,100 20.09.08 Made the successful bid 22.09.08 Pay Japanese buyer FOB = 1,730,000 AUD/JPY = 87.84 $ 19,695.98 23.09.08 Paid compliance shop deposit $ 500 24.09.08 Supplier confirmed payment 08.10.08 Car booked on next avail vessel 16.10.08 Car loaded on vessel to Brisbane 21.10.08 Received B/L from broker 22.10.08 Sent paper works to Customs Agent, compliance people not yet obtain Import Approval after 4 weeks! 29.10.08 Car was unloaded 5.11.08 Finally got import approval, took 6 weeks!
  12. Thx for ur advise, no good news yet just hope it will come thru soon
  13. Umm, the broker is on taking a break at the momment and wont be back until next tuesday, the day my car should arrive in Brisbane, the reason being the exchange rate fluctuating wildly. So, email communication is out, but I will give him a call tomorrow to see how it goes. and the car I am importing is just a 2005 auto v35 skyline, no mods or crash history. Shouldnt be a problem bout the car hey?
  14. yeah, I realised i posted in the wrong forum, but i have no clue how to change it, anyone can help? I believe i gave the compliancing ppl enough time to get the paper work done, I was told by both the import broker and the comliancing ppl it would take around 2 ~ 3 weeks to get the approval. It's been 4 weeks since I paid the compliancing centre. so the car will only be stored at the dock? The compliancing centre told me the car may be returned to japan... I guess all I can do now is sit and wait and hope the approval will come thru, or this will be my first and last car import
  15. Hi guys To make a long story short, this is my first time importing a car and the car will be landing in Brisbane next tuesday (28/10/2008). Everying is fine so far, except I DO NOT have an Import Approval yet! What will happen to my car if it landed without import approval? what should I do now? It not like I havnt give the compliancing shop enough time to get the import approval, I have paid them the deposit and signed the paperwork 4 weeks ago (23/09/2008). So, any help or advise for my situation is appreciated. PS: I live in Brisbane, QLD
