hey guys,
I am in Wollongong 1 hour south of sydney. we have had E85 at the pump at the ethanol station locally for a while now and to find out it is no longer available only 2 weeks ago. spewing as I am pretty keen to give this a run. I called them up and they said they can still get it for me in 200 litre drum at $2 a litre.
anybody else heard what is going on???

What is involved to fit rb25 oil pump to rb30 crank? i have been told straight bolt on but was wondering if a crank collar is required. what do the flats look like on RB25 oil pump?
Interesting read here. Can anybody show or clearly tell me what the difference between NA VL oil pump and turbo VL oil pump?

My mind is going crazy trying to sort out what oil pump to use as I am building an engine for RB30ET SOHC.
Steel has been used for framing for a long time now. It has many advantages over alternative materials such as being 100% termite resistant, consistent in strength and allows design flexabilty over alternative material for this reason. stays straight etc
Steel will expand and contract no different to alternative building materials so very unlikely it would be noiser. I have never heard my steel garage make a noise yet after 6 years. Have spent a fair bit of time in their too much like many of the members here im sure. lol
makes alot of sense building with steel these days.
thanks guys, this is the last thing to decide on and engine can be assembled. i have both pumps pictured above what should i go with? would i have to modify spring for oil pressure for rb26 pump? what is the cause of the rb26 shattering too high oil presure?

I have a good condition RB26 oil pump I am looking to run on RB30 build up and wondering if anybody can provide info from their experiances. I am looking for a crank collar to suit.
What I need to know is the std RB26 pump a good option?
I belive the oil pump breakages occur due to too high oil pressure any ideas?
What oil restrictors will I need for the head SOHC?
I here of people taking out a spring to reduce oil pressure?
Any experianced people in this would be highly appreciated. I am having a go at this build myself and appreciate the wealth of knowledge people offer on the site.

Can anybody tell me if the RB25DET oil pump would be a better setup than original RB30ET oil pump for a fresh RB30ET rebuild with power upgrade in mind. SOHC set up GT35/40 with decent boost up it. If anybody has pics of how to determin a RB25DET pump would also be very helpful thanks
