  1. I have an 02 GT8 and it has always done it but never really chased down an answer as I had that theory, if you just rest your foot on the brake pedal you can feel it pulsating in conjunction with the noise. Mine will also do it when hot and I have just come out of the shops.
  2. I have fitted the Nismo US spec cold air intake on my 35. It sits the pod just neatly behind the front bar and has a special fitting on it that is supposed to stop water ingestion, haven't had a problem so far this winter.
  3. You could send them to these guys, I sent my rims to them and they did a fantastic job of re-chroming my rims, and at a reasonable price too, you would have change from your pay-out. http://www.aclassmetal.com.au/
  4. The clock on the screen is set by the factory gps, as explained to me by Rianto when I get my menus converted. It now shows the correct time.
  5. Looks to me that it is a bolt to hold the disk in place, in saying that will be ok to remove as the wheel will hold it in place.
  6. My 2002 gt8 has the beep too, just curious as a I had a instance on 2 seperate occasions recently where I had the battery and park brake lights come on and a Japanesse girl spoke too me, by the time I got to Nissan to get codes from the computer it had cleared. Would cutting the wire to this speaker remove the instance where the girl will speak to you?
  7. The thing to remember is that "EVERYTHING" has a life span, and if maintained correctly will last for a long time. Nissan made this box as an experiment, i.e. Bugatti only made the Veyron to prove that it could be done, and as a result only fitted it to the V35 as it was costly to produce and equally costly to maintain, there are other versions of cvt boxes on the market that do effectively the same job but are cheaper to manufacture and maintain. With that being said, it is a fantastic gearbox and with the right maintenance schedule in place, should last a fair amount of time. ps. I am organising a group buy of oil for these. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/V35-Gt8-t326611.html
  8. I was in Phuket mid last year a spotted these calliper covers on various cars around the place (not good cars). Best to just turn your head and not look at them until you raise the funds to replace. ps. I am in the same boat as you, hate the look of the stock callipers but arn't in a position to do anything about it, have been watching importmonster ever since I got my car to bag a bargain.
  9. I belive that there is a spray available, just check that it wont harm the duco, as my old man had the same issue with a neighbours cat and i think he used a spray from a pet store. Also if it is happening during the night and you know who the cat belongs to just inform them of the dusk till dawn ruleing in regards to cats (THEY SHOULD BE LOCKED UP...................................at night)
  10. I got my cover from Shannons, about $1200. When I first rang the guy said I wasn't an enthusiast, ( started with an R31, then had an R33 and now have a V35 ), I think there is a pattern forming here! Then I rang a second time and it was no probs., all depends on which jockey you get on the other end of the line.
  11. Just a thought ( if your brave enough ) when the engine is running grab a piece of ordinary blackboard chalk and try to touch it onto the inside of the belt as it goes around. Doesn't sound like much but is an old trick old mechanics used. I have tried it before on older model cars including my old 31, seemed to do the job then.
  12. I am sorry to say that I agree with most of the people here, BIG CHROMIES of that nature do not have a place on a skyline I have a set of Work VS SS on mine, chrome rim with powdercoated centers, and they look great. Iamhe77 has a set of Nismo (I believe) GT5', all chrome on his m35 stag, they suit the car, As for the rims you showed us they would probably suit an old Monaro more than a Skyline.
  13. I have done a lot of research on this as I dont want to put the wrong oil in and have a mega repair bill afterwards. This picture should be able to clear all doubts. 14. To all GT8 owners who are thinking about giving their CVT box a birthday! I am planning on organising a group buy of oil, cost is around the $250 mark for 4 liters ( 8 liters required for each car ) plus shipping from Japan. Cost of shipping will depend on how many decide to purchase. Once we have numbers it will take around 8 weeks for orders to be delivered to Melbourne. I would like to get this under way asap as I am at 72000k's and would like to complete the service at 80000k's.
  15. G'day, I drive a pv35 350 gt8, 4 door sedan. the question I have is are there any exhaust systems avaiable for my car, I have been searching and all I can come up with is mufflers, not a full system, or I get systems that are marked for the cpv35 coupe. Will the coupe systems fit, do they need to be modified or can you let me know of where I can get a full system that will suit the sedan.
