  2. drive on planks of wood, like 2 levels of em nailed togetha. work a treat and raise the car bout 70 mm.
  3. thanks a lot for clearing it up mate. good job on these.
  4. sumo unfortunately i can't forget the textbook "crap" as you say. Ok think about physics: say for arguments sake. area of ball bearing=.5cm2 k=8N/cm instance (1): Boost = 5N/cm2 and the screw is not screwed in at all. ie. spring has not been pretensioned. F=kx F=Press*Area x=5*.5/8 x=.3125 cm instance (2) boost is same = 5N/cm2 k is same 8N/cm area same .5cm2 but screw has been turned in .1cm equation is F=k(x+.1) x+.1=5*.5/8 x=.2125cm so even if screw is turned in the spring still has some compression. Hence air can get to the wastegate, this is my confusion and sumo can u explain what you mean? "So if screw sol wont let boost past till its 13psi, wastgate sees 0 psi." The thing is it does, or should.
  5. c what i'm having trouble understanding is: springs F=kx pretty simple. Assumme k is constant ====> pretty good assumption. now here's the thing: The units of pressure (among others is) Pa, short for Pascal, 1 Pa=1N/m2. Basically Force per area. Now if an even pressure is exerted on an area u multiply the pressure by the area and u get a Force. By screwing the thing in and out u are changing x. Now back to F=kx it is easily seen that F is directly proportional to x. hence pressure is proportional to x (since force=pressure*area, area is constant in this case). no matter if x has changed any force will force the ball bearing to move... ball bearing moves=> air gets to wastegate=>wastegate creep. Hence my confusion. Unlike the jaycar IEBC where the wastegate only sees how much pressure u want it to c. is there some kind of seat pressure as with external gates?
  6. lol the question was how does this device eliminate wastegate creep. not what is wastegate creep.
  7. can some1 explain how this provides zero wastegate creep? i read a few pages back that it does.
  8. shan can you get the "High temperature digital thermometer? how much would they be.
  9. well i had the same problem and took it back one week after install (today). The mechanic told me doesnt matter what you do they will always squel spesh with skylines. I'm like hmm... ok. I left the car there for a dyno but next time i'll have to go somewhere else for brake stuff. I won't settle for "u can't do anything about it". Thing is they are a pretty respectible mechanic/tuner in vic thats y i went there. pretty dodgy, i booked last friday for service, pads, rotor machine and dyno. I asked what time, they said 5. I get there at five, had to wait for them to finish half an hour, no biggie. But i Could see the mechanics just doing a rush job on the car. When i went to pay: "I'm sorry we didn't have time to dyno ur car we were too busy with bigger jobs". i was like u could have told me and i would have left it till the job i asked was done. n e ways off topic soz. end rant...
  10. Up for sale is a brand new apexi EL-II boost guage. Not even opened. The gauge is white and mechanical, ie doesn't need control unit to work. I'm after $180.00. Postage not included. Postage would only be 9.5 anywhere in australia for express post. I am in vic (frankston and go to uni in clayton) if you want to meet up. If interested please email me on [email protected] or pm me here. cheers, Rom.
