how much do the CES split ones go for? I'm thinking of getting one made up by a local exhaust shop probably won't be as good as the CES one but better than the ones that are not split. I was also thinking of getting a front pipe (can pick one up for 170 HPC coated mild steel) and getting a HKS split dump for 350. Also another question, if u get that dump from flyn.com.au can it easily fit other turbos? i'm pretty sure that with the HKS one fits all of there 2 series turbos (eg gt2530) stuff like that, but can any1 clarify this as i will upgrade someday. cheers,

R32 - Next mod - ECU - Options
pinoi_boi_r33 replied to MM2death's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
go for the power fc there is no need to buy the hand controller if someone else is tuning it. If u aren't gonna b modding more then you will only be paying for tuning once. The only problem is you will need to get it tuned with someone who has the apexi excel software, i'm from melb and dunno QLD places. either that or get the hand controller and tune yourself, but u can't see much of the map resolution, but with apexi excel software you can see the whole map and you will get the best results this way. -
there is a vk with 383 v8 twin turbo that pulls over 1100 kw with pump fuel and something like over 1300 on avgas he runs a pwr cooler so yeah i would recommend this cooler. going on those power figures. so it was 900 dollars not including piping? got any piks? cheers

cheers buddy and thanks for da advice. yeah i might just drop to fourth a coupla times or put in neutral and rev it a bit.

ecenshu: Highway cruising shouldn't be too much of a problem for wear only if you dont load the engine ie: keep revs down(but not in too tall a gear!) what do u mean dude? in fifth at 100km/hr is about 2600 rpm whilst that is low engine speed its fifth gear, but 100km/hr in fourth is getting the revs up a little more? What i am thinking of doing is either take a longer way to the freeway (max 60km/hr, but even thats 4th) or going on freeway as usual but stay just under 80km/hr in fourth (but what about revs?) for the first couple of kays and piss a fair few ppl off in process, someone plz help me out. rom.

i usually let mine warm up for about 2 or 3 mins but i cannot really take it easy within the first few minutes. This is coz i drive to uni everyday and i live pretty close to the freeway so when i get on it i go 100 kmswithin about 5 mins of moving off from garage so what should i do? Wake up earlier and to a couple of laps of my block? Lol i don't have any time whatsoever. I guess i will just have to live with the wear on tranny not hurting the engine too much, my synchros on the box are already on the way out (ouch) but i believe that is mostly due to single clutch downshifts that aren't always 100%. ah well, Rom.

Kazama suspension parts..
pinoi_boi_r33 replied to Lunatic Dancer's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
i'll probably be able to pick up the hicas lock as i am in melb, i'll have the money midweek. If mxfly doesn't buy the bushes i will take them instead of the hicas lock. ps where u at in melb? cheers, Rom. -
the intercooler guy, when exactly in may are you opening up in melbourne? Also where will the shop/showroom be? Man these kits look unreal have you got any inlet/outlet temps and pressure drop for both the ICG intercooler and the force one. Also you stated that your IC is 800*300*76 is this just the core? if so how long endtank to endtank. What is the core size of the force one? Thinkin i'll go with the force one as i'd prefer the lighter tube and fin design. cheers, Rom.

yes same in vic u cannot cut the parcel shelf at all as it is supposedly a main structure in the car which supports the rear windscreen. If u wanna run the risk then do it but i'd just get pods made up from fibreglass, they don't look all that good but i wouldn't run the risk. P.S. i was also told that you are allowed to cut the parcel shelf but the hole size i do not know and it must be further than 11 cm from the child restraint. (Dunno if thats tru, but thats of no help any way to your cause) cheers, Rom.

interesting thread. I was thinking all the way power fc but now i am not so sure. In the future i may mildly upgrade the turbo and was wondering how will the e-manage handle it? I know that the power fc can handle turbo upgrades. I drive an r33 gtst ser1 so using a z32 tt air flow sensor would probably work i guess. Another thing is how easily is this thing tuned can it be done DIY (using the support tool ofcourse) without the proper air/fuel ratio figures and whats the go with the wideband O2 sensors it costs 300 but control module varies from 400 to 2 grand. Is this really necessary, dr. drift? If the tuning is really that easy i may opt for a e-manage but i would still think in the back of my mind it would be done better by a proffessional with a dyno so in the end i may opt for a power fc w/o commander since i will have it tuned properly? Another question, can the power fc eliminate those restrictive air flow sensors? thanx heaps Rom.

Project 12sec R33 GTST Daily Driver
pinoi_boi_r33 replied to rev210's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
any more news rev? Just wondering a few things where and how much was your ogura super light flywheel? I also read your how to guide to get stockish GTST into mid 13's (very good time) and was wondering what was the significance of removing the panel behind the stocky intercooler? Have you heat taped ur exhaust manifold? Do you think a cheapish way to upgrade our crappy ceramic turbo is to get an s15 turbo hi flowed? one day i will hopefully one day get into mid 12's on full street trim. (atm i have 235's 45 ratio 17's, but quite heavy rims that cam with the car) thanx Rom. -
where do you get these thermo fans from. I looked on the davies craig site and a 16 inch is over 300 bux (for all the 16 inch kits). Thats a bit much don't u think, I want to upgrade to clear future piping but does anyone kno of any other good fans that are a little cheaper. Also couldn't u hook up the wiring so that the fan will only work when the thermo opens. That would be good for those cold morining starts, coz the clutch fan always spins. rom.

ARC Intercoolers and where to buy them
pinoi_boi_r33 replied to adznight's topic in General Automotive Discussion
dave is that how much it is to get to australia? Including customs duties and GST? Coz if it is thats really damn cheap. How long would it take to get to aus from japan? ship or airfreight.
